“Large House with Poor Design & Furnishing”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2015

The house is intended to sleep a maximum of 6 adult and 2 children (or less adults and more kids). The living room had 1 three place old sofa and 1 arm chair plus 3 folding camping chairs: how can 6 adults + 2 children sit there? Do we have to play “musical chair” or time how much each person sits on comfortable seating in the living room. Our back is hurting for sitting on cheap chairs: homeowner, don’t just call your place “sanctuary” spend little bit of money to provide modern living room furniture. You cannot expect positive feedback with those miserable furniture pieces you probably took from your basement. The designer of this"sanctuary" provided 18 outlets along the walls (for sure code requirement probably) but the most widely used (over the counter) where you want to plug your daily used appliances (toaster, coffee maker, juicer, mixer) there is only 1 outlet with 2 plugging possibilities conveniently located under the wall phone which cord block the outlet. Every time you need to plug one of the units, you have to struggle to keep out the phone cord dangling around the outlet and eventually becoming a hazard. The entire house floor is cheap laminate (some door stops are moving around freely) and with this amenity the home owner provided only a vacuum cleaner! We went to Food Lion and bought the device needed to clean daily (we had a crawling baby) those floors: Swiffer with dry & wet towels, and guess what? We didn’t leave it there but took it with us! The light switches are a maize and you need to search which one is which every time you want to have more light. And not to mention that many bulbs were simply burned out. The nice deck does not have any lounge chair and we were simply jealous why the neighboring house have provided for their renters a place to lay down and relax in the afternoon? Probably too expensive for the home owners just eager to get their rent and play it cheap. The cook range has a glass-top range of good quality, but nobody provided the specialty cleaning liquid. That is the least that can be done to preserve such nice piece of kitchen appliance. The range over the island-located range is blowing the smell of all you cook into your face. Frankly, you pay $4,000 per week and have to avoid cooking fish in the best location for fresh fish because the place smells for hours??? Unacceptable!

“Awesome House!”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2014

My family & I were very pleased with this beach house. As stated in earlier posts, the kitchen was well stocked with anything you could possibly need for cooking meals. The bedrooms were nice. The deck/patio areas were wonderful! We look forward to returning next year!

“Worth It's Weight in Gold”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2013

Great home. A little tricky with its location. The driveway secludes it in a nice way. Every room is spacious, with comfortable bedding. The deck provides space for about 10 people on the bottom level, and another 7 people on the top level comfortably. The kitchen has an nice flat stove, with ample pots, pans and other baking utensils. Of course, the beach is but a 50 ft walk with a about a two-storey staircase. Be careful of the sun baking both the steps and surrounding sand at its foot. The smallest bedroom has a washer and dryer, so laundry will not be an issue for those travelling a long distance to get there. The only issues we ran into are the windows. They work on a crank system. Be mindful not to crank them to 100% and leave them for too long. Wind is strong, and can end up unhinging the window from its apparatus, making it impossible to close it convetntionally. Thankfully, maintenace was prudent with handling the situation. This is most definitely a place I would like to visit again. Our company enjoyed every corner of it. As for what to do around the Isle: Emerald Isle Realty made sure to hand out plenty of brochures and pamphlets of local business. there is much to see and do. I hope everyone can have such a pleasant experience like mine.

Response from the manager Thank you for sharing your vacation experience with us. It pleases me to know that you and your family enjoyed your time on Bogue Banks while staying at Salter Path Sanctuary. I'm further pleased to let you know that the crank windows you described are being replaced with more traditionally styled vertically sliding windows so a similar problem won't be encountered again. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to see you and your family in 2014! Please call us to plan your next vacation - 1-888-832-0140.

“Ideal beach experience!”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2013

This home was welcoming and comfortable. It had more ammenities and supplies than any beach house I've stayed in over the past 20 years. Fabulous views of the ocean from the main floor and second floor rooms. Emerald Isle Realty did an excellent job of having the home spotless when we arrived and promptly responded to a few (minor) maintenance concerns. We look forward to returning in the future.
