Very spacious and close to everything and a brisk walk to the beach . I will definitely go back to summer tree . The whole atmosphere was amazing the scenery and landscaping was very nice too , also the three screened in patios/ balconies and not to mention the beds of heaven !!!!! “Dirty Carpets”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2014

The carpets throughout the condo had many stains. It made the place seem dirty even though it was clean otherwise. There were a couple things that needed repair such as closet door and vertical blindes in master bedroom. The screen door on the porch was torn. The location was great. The indoor pool was shut down for repairs for the last 3 days we were there and it rained so we would have used it. The condo was outdated but okay other than those awful carpets.

Response from the manager Unlike a hotel, each unit is independently owned and the furnishing are in the owners control. We do control the cleaning which inclde carpet but we can only clean them when there is a 24 hr period between rentals. Summer's create issues with keeping them clean because of this. We rent many units in different complexes and can only control the condo unit itself. Pools and ground are usually controlled by the Homeowner associations and we have no say or input. Most of the time, we are not told about issues unless a guest brings it to our attention.

“Summer Tree Village H-o5”

We really enjoyed our stay at Summer Tree Village. The location is great! It is near the beach and the outlet mall! Our unit was in excellent condition. It was very clean and very comfortable (almost like being at home). The service we received was outstanding. There really isn't anything we didn't like about our stay. It was a great place to spend the winter months.

“Secluded, within an easy walk to the beach, this shady resort is”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2013

We enjoyed our stay at Summer Tree Village in Myrtle Beach. It was an easy resort to find and is located close to major shopping, but has a "hidden-away" feeling on a quiet street. There was ample room in the two-bedroom condo (one bedroom is set up with twin beds for children). The decor is nice, but we would recommend that the owners remove the carpet and go to ceramic tile or laminate flooring, with area rugs if desired. We would definitely recommend the location. Our particular condo overlooked the indoor pool and was also close to the outdoor pool. Ourdoor noise was not a factor at all.

“Summer Tree Village H-05C...A real dump”

I've stayed at vacation rentals around the world over the 25 years and this is about as low as you can go. We were given a hassle with our late check-in even though our contract with Orbitz stated that we could check in late. We were also charge tax on our $100 cleaning fee even though our contract stated that tax would not be charge. Upon arrival to the room, We noticed the smell before opening the suite door. The apartment had a very strong smell of dog's urine. We noticed the spots all over the carpet, it looked like someone had tried to clean them up with no luck. We tried to get another apartment with no luck. We did notice that quite a few owners had big dogs in their apartments. We don't own dogs and didn't know that this was a pet friendly establishment even though we asked when booking via Orbitz. The apartment had fleas, so we decided the next morning that we would get a hotel...In Charleston. We chose to take our baths at the Embassy Suites in Charleston, we didn't want to give the fleas a fresh smell to cling too. We spoke with other renters and found out that most of Grand Strand Vacation apartments were similar to ours. The location was great with a 3 minute walk to the beach. If I could upload pictures I would so that people could see what I'm talking about. We will never ever use Grand Strand Vacation or Orbitz again.

Response from the manager We do not allow pets in any of our units. This was walked over and we could not obtain any of the odors you discuss. There were seval small spots on the carpet but it is not possible to clean carpets during the busy seaon unless we take the unit off the rental market while this occurs and allow a loss of revenue. When there is allowable space, carpets are cleaned. The information given by Orbitz is not controlled by us. There is a tax on every item as dictated by state law of which I have no control. I am sorry you were unhappy with your stay but could find no documentation where these issues were brought to our attention. We make it a policy to correct any area of concern we are told about as quickly as possible.
