“Just What We Needed”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2014

Our family (myself, husband and teenage son and daughter) stayed here in mid-July. It was perfect for what we needed for a vacation in Key West. Everyone had their own bed and the two bathrooms worked out well for everyone. The unit was clean and located close to everything (two blocks south of Duval). We walked to most attractions. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is always a plus. You will need to bring dishwasher soap, extra papertowels, toilet paper and trash bags.

“Great Spot”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2014

Our family really enjoyed the condo unit! It was modest but very nice and met all our needs. The wood deck is a nice feature. Loved the location in Shipyard Condominium since it is within walking distance of Duval St (2 blocks away) and about half way between the Southernmost Point to the east and Mallory Square to the west. Also easy access to Fort Zachary Taylor park with beach, snorkeling, and the best summertime sunset viewing (Tank Island/Sunset Key obstructs the sunset from Mallory Square during the summer). Everything else about our week-long trip was also fantastic, so the condo was the icing on the cake!

“Love the Beach House Condo”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

The Beach House Condo at the Truman annex is our favorite place to stay when staying in Key West. This has been our 5th time and it is just like home. Our rental agent at home in key west is always accommodating and takes care of issues right away. We love the location and love the fact that we can walk almost anywhere, enjoying all the things that Key West has to offer. We will be back again in 2015.

“Cozy and affordable”

Super sweet condo. My two teenagers and I stayed for a week and loved it. So close to everything yet still so quiet. Very clean with all the amenities you need. The only hiccup is we could not get the cable tv to work. The bike rental shop is one block away.

“Great Family Vacation”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2013

My husband and I and two young daughters spend a week in Key West and the Beach House Condo was perfect for us. The condo itself is stocked with everything you need (towels, beach towels, and all kitchen supplies) and the Shipyard Condominiums are very quiet. We will be staying again in the future!

“Great location”

Excellent location and great condo, would be nice to have a few other items in the kitchen to make cook and clean with.

We expected steps as the limitation for handicap. Throw rugs are slippery so we had to eliminate them from the area. No handrails. So your definition of handicap is first floor. We thought the beach would be private for the condos. You should advertise there is a daily fee. I glad I was there before the ecology was destroyed by all the people.

Response from the manager Thank you for reviewing our home. Our vacation homes are privately owned and not required to be handicap accessible. The State park is the only beach on our island with an entry fee; we have many other beaches on the island that are free to enjoy. A hotel with private beach may have been a better option for your visit to Key West.

“Loved the convenience”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2012

Loved the location of Shipyard Condos and the beautiful grounds. The white picket fences and all the colorful flowers are so pretty. It's within walking distance of Mallory Square, Duval Street and tons of restaurants and it's just a short bike ride to Ft. Zachary Taylor and the beautiful beach. We spent one day at the pool but it's very small and there was a huge crowd there. The condo is very clean and very cute, but it's really small. Our friends had the upstairs unit which seems to be much more spacious. Very disappointed in the patio furniture. It's little folding chairs and a folding table. There was no way you could eat a meal out there and it's one of the things we look forward to when coming to Florida. Also missed having an ice maker. I filled the little ice trays about 40 times over the week.

“Quiet, clean, and charming”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2012

We enjoyed our stay at Beach House Condo. We have been coming down to Key West in Dec./Jan. since 1988 and have rented a private house or stayed at a hotel so staying at a condo was a first for us. We found the condo. clean, nicely decorated, private (very small outside out tub) and quiet. It is centrally located to many restaurants, shopping, moves and a wonderful beach. Other than a couple of suggestions which I will list I would highly recommend for 2-4 people. Also Libby from at home in key west was a fabulous realator to work with. Suggestion: 1. More light in living room. Very dark at night with only one small lamp. 2. Lovely backyard but very uncomfortable chairs. 3. Dresser space in Master is very hard to get to (it is inside of a closet.

“perfect.”
