“Winter Park”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2014

Great view. Rugs should be replaced since they are well worn and torn. Window screens were missing but later found under master bedroom bed. Rug in master bath was dirty. Dirty dishes were placed in cabinets. Notified mgr who had dishes washed next day!! All closets in 2nd bedroom were locked. Where were we suppose to hang our clothes? Rapid response to our concerns. But condo needs renovations!

“Not quite as nice as we had hoped...”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2014

I am sad to report this unit is much older than expected and very well worn. The carpet was torn and very dirty upon arrival. The dressers and walls were grimy with fingerprints and dirt - so much so - that I felt compelled to clean before putting my clothes in them. I spent a good hour upon arrival wiping down the light switches (which were really dirty, wiping the sinks in the master bath, and wiping down the inside of the dresser drawers). I was super bummed that the pots, pans, and coffee maker were also dirty and needed to be washed before use. The entire place needs a good cleaning and update. Winter Park Lodging was amazing - sending us over a vacuum (there were no cleaning supplies whatsoever in the unit) so we could at least vacuum the floor a bit. However; the location of staying in the Zephyr is amazing! You can't beat skiing right to your door and utilizing the lockers below. The week we visited one of the elevators was broken, so of course, the 6 flights of steps in ski boots when the other elevator was super busy was killer. I have stayed across the street in the Fraser Units and they are much newer, very clean, and gorgeous so I was a bit disappointed with the upkeep of this unit. Regardless, I still love Winter Park and will go back again - I would just request an updated unit in the Zephyr:)

“Great Location - Needs some TLC”

Reviewed 6 Feb 2014

Winter Park Lodging Company was fantastic. Their service is wonderful. They are attentive and helpful. This condo was actually a last minute rebook. The unit we rented had flooded just two weeks before our arrival and we are grateful that they were able to find us another unit on a busy holiday weekend. I loved the stamped postcards that were left for us. I mailed them from the village and the boys loved the surprise postcards they received when we returned. The unit itself is in a great location (very convenient) and the layout is nice. However, the condo is in need of some attention. The carpet is worn and even torn in one small spot. The paint is scuffed in several places and needs scrubbing. The sofa sleeper was not usable, as it sagged in the middle so badly. None of the beds were very comfortable, even for the kids. While the sheets were clean, the duvet covers and blankets were not. The duvets were a little dusty and spare blanket had a shoe mark. It would be nice if the second bedroom had a dresser or chest of drawers. There was nowhere to unpack the kid's things, so they lived out of their suitcases for the weekend. Not a big deal, but the wires hanging from the flat screen TVs are a bit messy looking and seem like an easy fix. Also, there was a horrible smell coming from the garbage disposal. It smelled like bad fish. We had to keep the stopper on the sink at all times. Lastly, the decor could use some freshening up. On the bright side, the condo was pretty clean upon arrival. The refrigerator was very clean and there were plenty of dishes and appliances. The fireplace and balcony were nice and the view of the village was pretty. The layout is nice with plenty of space for our group of 4, yet cozy at the same time. Overall, this could be a really great place. There's lots of potential. It just needs some attention to detail and a bit of fix up.

“Very Good room in a Fantastic Location”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2013

The folks at Winter Park Lodging Company were very helpful in finding me a place that fit my needs. They were courteous and helpful all along the way. The Zephyr 1606 was a nice room with a fantastic location. While it says it sleeps 8, it might be better suited to say 6. Needless to say, myself and guests enjoyed the room. It came with a iphone/ipod player as well as apple TV. Pretty awesome for relaxing after a hard day on the mountain! Would definitely stay back at the Zephyr again. My only complaint would be the slow elevator. It felt like it took 5 minutes to get anywhere!

“Great Snow + Great Place = Great Fun”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2013

We had a great time with our kids skiing, tubing, sledding and enjoying the village. When it comes to a ski in/out destination in Winter Park, this is as good as it gets. Loved being able to duck back into the condo for lunch during a busy day skiing. Staying in the village was nice with ice skating and smores. Everything met expectations as far as the condo. Arrangements met descriptions. Service was great especially having the lift tickets delivered to your door. Everyone had a blast. We appreciate the opportunity to share a little piece of your mountain.

So pleased to hear that you had a blast during your trip to Winter Park and hope to host another great stay for you next year. “This place and Winter Park Lodging Company rock!!”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2013

Winter Park Lodging Company rock... and this unit was fantastic... We rented two units to accommodate a large family and they took care of us. The accommodations were spacious and well appointed. Plenty of pillows, blankets, and places to sleep. This place felt like home to us. Grandma was with is and wanted to cook a large pot of soup for the 10 of us and the pot was too small that was in the room. We called Winter Park Lodging Company and asked if they had a larger pot and they showed up an hour later with a new pot from the store. Awesome customer service.

“easy transaction, exactly as described”

Reviewed 27 May 2012

Have no fear, you are getting exactly what the ad describes, and in an easy transaction, with a management group that was extremely attentive and made sure to check that we were all squared away. Great value for the price, right in the base area, easy access to the mountain. The kitchen was adequately stocked with basic necessities for meal preparation. This is a cozy, but reasonable accommodation for a family with three or 4 children.

“Very nice accomodations”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2012

This unit was just what we hoped for. We got our parking permit at the Front Desk, used our room key to enter the garage, and unloaded using the carts there. There was no noise from other guests clomping around in ski boots, so these units must be well insulated. The gas fireplace was great for setting a cozy mood. The kitchen was well-appointed, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a cache of non-perishable food left there by previous guests. The living room was a bit cramped, but comfortable. The master bedroom and bath were quite large. The second bedroom was rather small; it also had an angled ceiling from being under the roof, and the bunk-beds (full on the bottom, twin on top) were better for kids than adults. The service from Winter Park Lodging Co. was great; they checked on us often to ensure everything was good; we asked for 2 extra room keys, and they arrived within minutes. The location is great; a 25 foot walk up from the back door of the Lodge lets one ski into the Zephyr Express Lift line. Skiing back was tougher: either take Corridor from Mary Jane at maximum speed for the long flat spots, or take the Black Diamond-rated trail at speed and whip around to the door. Minor complaints: The ski locker is small; tough to fit skis for 4 inside. One of the ski locker keys didn't work properly. The dishwasher is noisy; use it when you go out. The unit is in the corner of the building, which cuts down on the light it gets, as does the enormous chair that is directly in front of the living room windows. The unit isn't managed by the same company that runs the rest of the hotel, so it took time for them to figure out how to give us a parking pass. The wired internet in the unit did not work with the password on the refrigerator. We used a neighbor's unsecured wifi. The hot tubs by the back door had a great view, but the women received catcalls from guys on the nearby lift when entering the water. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to stay there again.

“Perfect Trip”

Reviewed 4 May 2011

We have been to Winterpark two years in a row for spring skiing. We have found the skiing to be perfect and the resort also perfect. The staff is excellent and very friendly. I would not hesitate to do it again. We found the unit we were in to be also great. Conveniently located next to the slopes. Comfortable and clean.

This was a very nice condo in the closest building to the mountain in Winter Park. The condo is just as described in the advertisement. It was wonderful.
