“Scenic and tranquil”
Great spot with easy access to mountains and downtown area. Very pet friendly. Clean, quiet, beautiful location!
“Super place !!! Will stay there again”
Really liked this Condominium - Sl302, Location Super, Put on Ski's and ski to the lift. Kitchen had everything, The only thing that needs looked at is the twin beds, Very hard. Staff was excellent!!!
This apartment is less than a five-minute walk from the Thunderhead lift. It is nicely appointed and has a separate ski closet. Hot tub and pool are an added bonus. No views.
Our unit was spacious, however it very much lacked in cleanliness and luxury that we paid for. Upon entering the unit, there was a strong stench in the air. We tried airing the unit out for 2 days but decided it was probably the smell coming out of the carpets. They were so disgusting we couldn't tell what the original color was and we all kept our shoes on while walking around the unit. Even though it was a "pet" unit, they charge an extra cleaning fee. However, there was dog hair all over our sofas (not our dog; wrong color and our dog cannot get up on furniture). I would say the condo was functional in that we could make a meal in the kitchen and have a place to sleep at night, but it was not relaxing by any means. The DVD player was also not working so our daughters were out of entertainment for one night. We will be going back to The Grand.
Response from the manager The Management Team from Pioneer Ridge would like to apologize for the less than satisfactory experience you had in SL302. Our staff is available seven days a week to address any guest concern and, if brought to our attention during the stay, will take whatever actions are necessary to correct the issue.
“we love steamboat”
Great unit! Nice kitchen with a good size table for several family members. Location is up the hill from the ski area, access to hiking right from the unit. Good pool area. The one thing the Scandanavian needs around the pool is more umbrellas to sit under because being so high in altitude people need to be able to have shade to protect themselves from the sun.
“Bad snow and pet dander filled condo complex”
Our family had to move out of the Scandinavian Lodge due to the pet dander and our son's allergies to dogs. Not sure why we were put there when in the email I asked for a pet free place. We did have a pet free unit in a dog friendly complex. I will be much clearer the next time I book. I am grateful for the move to Winterwood and we loved that unit. It was amazing. We also loved the shuttle service to and from the slopes. We wish the weather gods would have been better to us---we skied in slush, ice, and snow cement for 4 of our 5 days at Steamboat. Ryan was great and helped us find a solution. A little disappointed in check in that we had to wait till the actual check in time and that we couldn't pick up keys early. In other ski towns, we have always been allowed to grab keys and packet but might have to wait till the actual time to enter the unit. Surprised that we had to make 2 trips to the check in office. The location was great. Truly a 2 minute ride to the lift but this was billed to us as ski to lift and ride out. That might work if the roads were covered in snow but with 2 kids 10 and under, walking the 1/2 mile down wasn't doable. We needed the shuttle. If you own a dog and want them to join you on vacation---this is the place for you! All the dogs seemed happy and loved playing in the snow and watching the people in the pool and hottub!
“Nice accomadations - Construction”
The Scandanavian lodge is going to be really nice once the contruction is over. We stayed at the Scandanavian to get away from the crowds and to relax because my wife was just diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, however what we got was a crowded parking lot due to construction worker vehicles and loud contruction right under our window while my wife was trying to rest. It would have been nice to know when we made our reservation that construction was going on as we would have stayed somewhere else with your organization. I believe future stays will be more pleasant but this one was not pleasant at all.
“Snow Angles in the pool area.”
This is the third year we have stayed in Steamboat and the first time in the Scandinavian Lodge. The condoniniem is located within walking distance to a ski lift or a very short bus ride. We were able to stop and check on our dog mid day and return to skiing with very little trouble. The shuttle service will take you anywhere in town you may want to go and then pick you up. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool at the end of the day. My son also made a snow angle inthe snow next to the pool area. The room was very clean and you would not have known that other pets have stayed in the room. The kitchen area is very roomy and we were able to fix all of the meals that we desired to fix (snacks for my 16 year old at 10:30 pm). The weather during our visit could not have been better, we were able to sit our on the deck and enjoy the afternoon sun after a long day skiing. I would highly recommend staying in the Scandinvian Lodge.
The shuttle was very accomodating & we were very pleased with the mgmt company's friendliness and willingness to help us make the most of our vacation. However, we were a little disappointed with the accomodations. The blinds were cut up in several places so they did not fully cover the bedroom windows. Both of the bathtubs were backed up & we had to call to have someone unclog them. There was virtually no housekeeping, we received linens and towels every other day but we did run our of toilet paper & had to call for more. There was not a vaccuum cleaner & with no one coming in to clean the place was pretty messy which was not pleasant..... Overall we would not stay at this place again and will have more questions to ask before renting again.
“Even better after 15 years”
We stayed at the Scandinavian Lodge 15 years ago on our first trip to Steamboat Springs. We decided to try it again and we were pleasantly surprised. It was completely updated with welcoming rooms and all the amenities needed for a ski trip (complete kitchen, ski storage, living room with fireplace, etc.). The close proximity to the slopes made it convenient. The shuttle service was outstanding. The heated outdoor pool, whirlpool spa and sauna were perfect after a day of skiing. We would recommend these units to anyone looking for an affordable stay on a fantastic mountain.
