“Needs a rehab”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

Very tired property, the improvements needed are wall to wall, the decor is early thrift shop., nothing matches. The fireplace had wood but no starting material nor matches/lighter. The bathrooms had towel bars hanging from the wall and you can't open the door all the way because it hits the toilet(someone replaced the toilet with an elongated bowl, both bathrooms) the kitchen has a newer dishwasher, unfortunately it won't open all the way because it hits the stove making it almost unusable. In the main bedroom someone dripped paint on the lampshades and carpet. No maid service during our 6 nite stay. Complete junk for plates/glassware/ knives with broken tips so dull etc etc reminded me of the house I rented(furnished) with 4 roommates when I was in college 40 years ago

Response from the manager Pioneer Ridge offers a wide range of properties from Affordable to Luxury. We are sorry that this property failed to meet your needs and would be happy to work together with you to identify specific needs that are important to you in a vacation rental. Upon reading your review we revisited the property in order to address any items that could be corrected. We found that the property had a substantial supply of firewood and a Bic Multi-Purpose Lighter on the fireplace mantel. There was not any fire starter and we have delivered a box of starters. We always try to accommodate any reasonable request and had it been requested, we would have been happy to deliver matches and fire starter. We would agree that property improvements would be desirable. This property is promoted as a Spacious and Affordable condo. It is within easy walking distance to the slopes and most guests find that it meets their needs. The downstairs bathroom was remodeled a few years back and the toilet was replaced. However the original design of the condo had the toilet in the same place and the door has always hit the toilet, both upstairs and downstairs. There is ample room to enter the bathroom so most guests do not find this an issue. We did not find a towel bar hanging from the wall nor did we find any record of the problem being reported. The dishwasher door does hit the oven which does not allow the door to open fully. Apparently most guests are able to still utilize the dishwasher. We tried to adjust the position of the oven to allow the DW to fully open but unfortunately the space does not allow for this to be corrected. We checked the knives (Wolfgang Puck Bistro Collection) and felt they were adequate for the property (though the point is missing from one knife and the set is missing two knives). The glassware appeared to be a decent quality and more than sufficient quantity and the plates and bowls were Correlle. The cookware was Emeril and appeared to be of decent quality as well. We did find the paint drip on the lamp shade and will seek a replacement shade if the drip cannot be removed. A midweek housekeeping service is provided on stays of 7 nights or longer however we would have been happy to accommodate a request for service on a 6 night stay. Pioneer Ridge strives to provide quality accommodations and service, and when issues are encountered, we encourage guests to contact us in order that we address them appropriately and in a timely manner.

“Not bad...but nothing great.”

It's not ski-in, ski-out but it's just a block or two from the base. Bring a lamp - you'll need it! The condo's very dark and has poor lighting. Dishwasher door hits the oven and barely opens-very odd. The jacuzzi just outside the door was nice tho.

“The Tuschl's of Wisconsin and Tennessee were very pleased. Thank”

We needed very little, but someone came both times. The unit was clean and nice. Loved the fireplace and even liked the dishwasher when I figured out how all the parts worked. It took a day. We did not like the hike up the hill from the store. I believe it is unavoidable if you ski in the mountians (Hoho). The buses are great and the community of people the best. Thank you for asking.

“Needs some general care”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2010

Hi! Renting the condo through Pioneer Ridge was very easy and everyone was very helpful. I rented the home with my in-laws who live out in CO for a long weekend. It was a decent location, but I thought it was going to be a bit closer to the lift - but not a far walk. Overall first impression was good, but a few things need to be fixed in the condo. The downstairs bathroom tiles and toilet need attention. The tiles on the floor are all cracked and broken -- very unsanitary and worried my daughter (21 months) would cut her foot or start playing with the loose grout. The toilet rocks when you sit on it - very annoying. Could actually cause damage if a large individual sat down on it. Per my mother-in-law, the upstairs tub wasn't in any condition to bathe my daughter in -- needs to be resurfaced (my daughter went without a bath for 4 days). Also, need updated linens upstairs (pillows/blankets). Fridge/freezer broke while we were there and my mother in law had to discard food a bunch of food. Pioneer Ridge came and fixed it somehow. Way overpriced for the flaws!!! Couch and chair in the living room were very comfy !

“Rocking Toilet”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2010

Overall the condo was great-clean, roomy, close to slopes. The only problem was the downstairs toilet. The toilet connection to the floor was loose and the toilet bowl "rocked" when you sat on it. The floor tile around the toilet was cracked.
