Very Good

Reviewed 30 Apr 2014

No balcony, no view other than a courtyard and another building. Space was good sized, furniture run down and TV was really bad 10+ years old tube style. Condo was well equipped, good a/C and everything worked.

Response from the manager Thank you so much for your review. Sundial D307 was recently purchased by a new owner and has been updated with new living room furniture, beach equipment, paint, flat panel TV and much more. We would love to have you back at experience the improvements. Please call our office and we would be glad to offer you a special rate for a return visit.

“Good but nothing to rave about”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2014

My husband, our young daughter, and I stayed in this condo. Sanibel Island was a wonderful, even with less than perfect weather. The Sundial resort was nice, because it offers resort amenities but the benefits of condos instead of just hotel rooms. We paid the extra amenities fee so we could rent bikes, beach chairs, and have access to all of the pools, and it was worth it. It wouldn't so amazing that I would never stay anywhere else, but I would stay there again if we found a good deal on a nice condo. The condo itself was average - it got the job done. Aside from one rainy day, we didn't spend a ton of time there. Our main frustrations were that there was no stopper for the tub (a problem for us since our daughter is young enough to need a bath and not a shower) and by the end of the week the floors were disgusting. Obviously the latter is expected when constantly going to and from the beach, but there wasn't a way for us to clean the floors. There was a dustpan, but no broom, and no mop or similar. I'm not convinced they were truly cleaned to begin with, but I can't say for sure. Our other frustration was the supplies in the kitchen; there was not a cutting board or a large skillet. If you're not planning to cook a ton, this wouldn't be an issue. Final complaint: the couch cushions were too wide for the couch frame, so when we sat on it they slowly slid forward until we were practically falling off and had to stuff them back on again. We knew going in that there was no balcony or ocean view (if you stood in the corner and looked out the window, you could get a peek-a-boo view); those certainly would have been nice, but we couldn't really complain since that was advertised. Complaints aside, the layout of the condo was good and there was plenty of room for us, even with a 2 year old and the toys/mess that come along with a toddler. Given the opportunity, we would definitely go back to Sanibel, but not this condo specifically.

Response from the manager Thank you so much for your review. Sundial D307 was recently purchased by a new owner and has been greatly improved! “Great condo, wonderful service, perfect location!”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2014

Had a week-long getaway with 3 other girlfriends in March and this place was perfect! Very afforable, situated right on the beach! The management was wonderful and very accommodating!! They were quick to answer all our questions and assist us in our needs. On the beach there were many starfish, sea urchins, and pretty sea shells. The condo came with everything we needed (cooler, hair dryer, rollaway beds, etc.). Perfect condo for our girls' trip! Only negatives I would have to say is that 1) all the dishes were slightly dirty - we had to run them all through the dishwasher and 2) the TVs were small and outdated (they still worked and had cable though)

“Great place to stay on Sanibel if you want to be near the beach”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2014

My husband and I just got back from 6 nights on Sanibel at this condo. We have stayed at Sundial before so we know what to expect. Melissa at re/MaX was great to work with, she is very friendly and quick to get back to you in making a reservation and for questions during our stay. There are several nice pool areas at Sundial, and you are in close walking distance to the beach. This unit is a courtyard view which is why it does not cost as much so for us it was a good value and reminded us of our cottage up north. (nothing fancy but most things you need) For suggestions I would agree the shower needs more pressure but in Florida rentals that seems to be the case. Also I would put a rack on the wall the entry way to have a place to hang jackets or towels. The pool towels provided were a nice touch and saved us bringing ours. The place looks like it does in the piotures. A couple tips - the building has coin laundry on the main floor and we used that once. If the closer pool area is full use the one on the other side of the main pool for a quieter feel.

Response from the manager Thank you for your review about Sundial D307. A new owner has just made several updates to the unit including new living room furniture, painting, flat panel TV, beach equipment and much more. I would love to work with you on a future stay so you could see the improvements made and enjoy Sanibel even more!

“Not anything to write home about”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2014

Thia was my first stay at a condo so some of these negatives may be things that I'm not used to but inherent in condo rentals. Check-in and picking up the keys went without a hitch. The condo unit itself was very spacious and clean. The beach and pool were very close as advertised. Certain amenities should be upgraded such as a shower head that has water come out with some force and an ice maker for the fridge instead of 3 ice trays. During our stay it rained 3 of the 7 days and one can only do so much shopping so we watched more TV than we expected to. No flat screens here just a 27" in the living room that was about 15' feet away from where the couch is (there is a smaller one in the bedroom). On one of the rainy days we rented a movie but there were no batteries in the DVD remote. At the same time the batteries in the thermostat died so it was inoperable. We had WiFi the first day we were there and none the next 2 days and hit and miss the rest of the week. Cell phone reception is non existent but I was told that on the eastern part of the island that was the case (I found that to be true). Every now and then we got reception out in the parking lot. I called the rental agent about the issues and he was very polite and explained that he would notify Sundial about the WiFi issue and he would send someone for the battery issues. The next day someone came, while we were gone and replaced the batteries in the thermostat but not the remote, a note said they would be back the next day, that never happened. There was no follow up from the rental agent. The parking lot has no lights so it was very hard to see at night. When departing we had to drop the keys off at the rental office which is about 3 miles away in the opposite direction of the airport. Not very convenient at all. I would not stay at any Sundial condo in the future.
