“Living life in Venice”
This turned out to be a wonderful place. Less than 15 minutes from St. Mark's once we learned the way. The unit is just off Piazza San Sebastian, very centrally located. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Water coming into the front hall added to the Venetian mystique! Would highly recommend this place!
“A home in Venice”
I stayed in the Doge apartment for 4 amazing weeks, over Dec 2012/ Jan 2013 which gave me opportunity to really settle in and explore Venice at my own leisure, it was simply wonderful, the beautiful old palazzo, with all it's history seeping through the walls was the perfect retreat, the water door and the view onto the canal were the icing on the cake. The doge apartment is central to everything you want, as a tourist, to explore, but at the same time, it is extremely private, and peaceful. The staff at Truly Venice were so helpful and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone interested... in fact, in approximately 4 weeks time, I am leaving my home in australia again to spend more time in Venice@ The doge apartment. “A fabulous way to experience all that is Venice!”
Friendly and efficient booking agency. The apartment is very suitable for a mature aged couple. Grand Canal side location in a famous palace in the San Marco region. Very quiet in spite of all the colourful water traffic outside the windows. A large, well furnished apartment and with quite adequate kitchen and bathroom facilities. Front door water taxi access. Convenient to well stocked local food and wine shops, restaurants, vaporetto and traghetti stops and reasonable walking distance to the major tourist attractions and locations.
“Best agency in Venice to work with, incredible properties and se”
This is my 10th time renting apartments from Truly Venice and they are the best agency in Venice to work with as well as the best selections of properties to rent from. This particular apartment is very comfortable, quiet and has all you need for a very comfortable stay. I stopped staying at hotels once I started renting apartments from Truly Venice.
“Fantastic apartment on the Grand Canal”
The apartment was very well equipped, in a very central location between the Rialto and academia bridges, and had windows right onto the Grand Canal. At night, with the windows shut, it was very quiet. All-in-all, it was just about perfect.
“This is a very comfortable flat in a remarkable position.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this flat, which perfectly suited my wife and me in terms of its amenities and its location.Venice had ice on the canals when we were there but the underfloor heating made our evenings snug. Much time was spent gazing out at the passing traffic on the Grand Canal through a window that lay just below a plaque commemorating Lord Byron's stay in the building. We found the crockery generous in its quantity, although its elegance made washing up a source of anxiety. I found the various light switches confusing - but this is a triffling complaint.
Very nice stay - just what we were looking for - good location - nice inside - arrival extras welcoming
“A super memorable experience”
When you have high expectations of a place or experience, they are often dashed by the reality. However, with Venice and our stay at Doge, they were exceeded. Arriving by the gorgeous private water taxi right to the waterside door was worth the money. The location of Doge could not have been better - and having your own 'window' right on the Grand Canal was something very special. What we liked the best was staying in such an historic building (with its own pet rabbit in the courtyard) though we were a bit surprised that outside Doge was a 'restoration project in progress', but thankfully there was no noise. If we had to find fault it was not arriving to milk in the fridge and there only leaving one dishwasher tablet. Like I said, we were very happy.
“A very spacious apartment with all you need for a comfortable st”
Took a little time to find the right water taxi at the station and the apartment key wasn't immediately available but resolved ok. We were deposited right at the door leading on to the Grand Canal which was very interesting. The rather gloomy building may be a little off putting but the quality of the apartment made up for this. The free wifi was a very useful facility. We ate in on one evening and a little delicatesan close by had all we needed. The apartment is well equipped for cooking in. It's only a short walk to the nearest water taxi (vaporetto) stop. Liked best the spacious nature of the apartment. Liked least the gloomy entrance hall but not really a big thing. Would use the same place again. It is only for a couple as there is only a double bed.
“Should have been better”
Truly Venice was very efficient and helpful before arrival. The Doge apartment was not well furnished and not well equipped. Lousy sheets, mediocre towels mediocre cooking equipment and tableware. The location was terrific and the wireless internet was helpful. The furnishings were a bit shabby. I found Truly Venice less available and less helpful during our time in Venice. I speak Italian and wonder how a non speaker would make out. In summary, your property was advertised as a luxury apartment. It was not but it would take a little upgrading to make it acceptable.
