“Wow! This house is amazing!”
This authentic log cabin or better yet, log mansion.. was absolutely wonderful. It accommodated our party of 9, perfectly. We had many plans for this vacation but we found our most favorite thing was the comfort and beauty of this home. Coffee talk every morning, long walks every day and a glass of wine every night. Beautiful views, wonderful walking trails, easy and lovely drive to town. We all very much enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse and Birds Nest in Cooperstown. Beautiful place to visit any time of year.
Response from the owner Lots of guests reconsider their prearranged touristy plans after they get settled into our log home. Some even call upon one of our massage therapists to provide in-home massages or arrange for a local chef to prepare a feast right in the lodge...all so that more time can be spent INSIDE enjoying the quiet, the solitude, even the smell of the cedar and Douglas fir logs! Book your getaway today and let us show you how to relax!
“great birthday getaway”
Thanks Bill for a terrific stay in an absolutely beautiful house (palace?). The wood work, the views, the fireplace, everything was just perfect. We'll be back!
Response from the owner We appreciate the recognition of the craftsmanship! We believe details make all the difference...whether it be construction details, communication details or even ensuring the home is prepared just right for our guest's arrival. Spend a week... or a weekend... at The Treehouse and experience a truly relaxing visit! Call us today!
“Another perfect weekend at the Treehouse”
For the second year in a row, we (6 adults and 6 kids) spent Columbus day weekend at the Treehouse. The house is wonderful, with great views and plenty of room for all of us. It is spotless and very comfortable. The yard is wooded, private, with a large fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows. It leads right down to the beautiful lake. The kids loved the floating "bouncy" dock and swam, even though it was October. The adults fished and used the kayaks. It was a magical weekend! Bill, the owner, could not have been more accommodating. When we called him with questions, he was responsive and beyond helpful. He gave us many recommendations and was so accessible. I would highly recommend renting for any large group. It was a blast! Thank you, Bill!
Response from the owner We have The Treehouse reserved for your annual visit and look forward to seeing you and the gang again! Bill
“Highly recommended for your Cooperstown vacation!”
I can't say enough great things about my recent stay at this magnificent home of Bill and Liz. Located just 6 miles from the Baseball Hall of Fame and other attractions in the heart of Cooperstown, their home was ideal for a quick weekend getaway with my family. Whether you want to be right on the lake for summer activities or sitting by the fireplace in their large log cabin home during the winter months, I highly recommend staying here during any time of the year. The house was extremely clean, well kept, linens and towels were ready for use in all bedrooms, and even the fireplace was set up for instant use if we would have liked. I'm looking forward to my next trip up to Cooperstown, whenever that may be, and certainly staying at Bill and Liz's house again. Thank you for a wondering weekend!
Response from the owner As a biking and driving enthusiast, Lake Road, between The Treehouse and Cooperstown is one of my favorites! Cruising along high above the shimmering water with towering trees dappling the sunlight...too bad its only 6 1/2 miles!
“Amazing property full of beauty peace and adventure”
I have looked at many vacation rentals in search of the perfect house to host my friends from overseas and none of them come close to this magnificent log palace. It's very well designed so that people can enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature, get together to chat in a group, share the experience of cooking, or just hang out and BBQ on the deck. My friends especially loved the floating pontoon and taking the canoes out in the morning. The whole area is magical and seeing the deer roaming in the forest made it even more special. The park nearby was perfect for our group since we loved playing volleyball on the sand court and running along the nearby trails.
Response from the owner The Treehouse is perfectly located...close enough to Cooperstown for convenience, but quietly and privately set in the woods at the edge of a magnificent lake. From here, Glimmerglass State Park is a 5 minute walk or 10 minute paddle away. Deer, Bald eagles, and all kinds of wildlife can be observed from the deck. Come see Cooperstown and experience a stay in a magical home!
This was the second year a group of friends and I rented this cabin for a weekend. Actually, it's not really a cabin but a mini-mansion with 30 foot ceilings and gorgeous finishing details. The home is absolutely stunning and spotless; the gardens are immaculately kept; and the lakeside view is breath-taking. The home is stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc. There's a great gas grill and kayaks and canoes for the lake. We just cooked our hearts out, but nearby Cooperstown is a great little hamlet for a diversion. The owner is a great guy and is incredibly accommodating. I hope to come back here for many many years to come.
Response from the owner Late Summer/early Fall is one of the best times to experience the lake and Cooperstown. Crowds have thinned out and the lake is still warm for swimming and kayaking. Bring your friends and family to one of our luxury retreats and create memories for a lifetime!
“A beautiful lakeside home close to Cooperstown”
A fabulous find. Close to Cooperstown. This home, with its beautiful and spacious interior as well as views/proximity to a wonderfully refreshing lake, made this the perfect vacation destination. Whether we were hanging out on the huge deck overlooking the water, swimming or kayaking on the lake, roasting marshmallows at the lakeside firepit, or chatting in the beautiful wooded den, this house was perfect! The owner was very helpful and clearly takes excellent care of his property. We wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend this home to our friends and family.
Response from the owner Our guests (and our own family) really enjoy the "lake-side" of our lodge; whether its sunning on the main deck looking out at the lake, sunsets at the patio right at the water's edge, swimming and fishing from the dock, or toasting marshmallows on the big fire pit, the proximity to such a beautiful and clean body of water makes vacation time at The Treehouse very special.
We had a great vacation at the Treehouse. The refrigerator gave us trouble but the owner got right on it and made it right. We brought our jetski and had a lot of fun on the lake.
Response from the owner Knowing that mechanical systems break down from time to time, we maintain a network of repair companies and technicians whom we can contact for service. We strive to be as responsive as possible regardless of the issue and our staff understands the importance this represents to our guests.
“What a fantastic home!”
We could not have been more pleased with the house, the setting on the lake, the cleanliness, and thoughtfulness of the Millers, as owners. Ours was a group of 6 adults and 6 kids visiting the Hall of Fame for a long weekend. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the proximity to town made the baseball lovers very happy. The welcome package waiting for us upon arrival was a nice touch, as well as the Thank You note when we got home. Clearly, a lot of though and care was put into our stay by the Millers. We can't wait to return!
The "Tree House" is perfect for a family vacation - secluded but so close to all local attractions. Relaxing and tranquil. The views of the lake are spectacular and we enjoyed playing and sitting by the lake even in the early spring. We really recommend staying at this house and visiting the Cooperstown area. The owners were very helpful in arranging our vacation, especially at short notice.
