We spent a week at the Blue Agave with 3 other couples. The set up was perfect as each couple had their own private bedroom and bath. When choosing a house for our vacation our main concerns was having master suites for all couples. Three of the suites had king beds and the fourth bedroom had a queen. That was all perfect. The other main concern was having a home that had a covered deck so we all would not crisp. Well this house was excellent for shade. There was a beautiful spacious deck with pool and lots of covered space so that no one had to sit in the sun unless they wanted to be. There were two tables under the shade area so plenty of room to eat any meals outside while enjoying the beautiful view. Always a nice cool breeze outside under the covered veranda area. We enjoyed watching the sugar birds come and go. Very entertaining. We put sugar on a plastic plate and set it on a post and had constant entertainment from the sugar birds. We would enjoy renting this home again if we should ever get back to St. John.
Response from the owner We are so happy that you will be back and that you enjoyed the "awesome views", pool, sun, and covered shade. I am glad that Blue Agave met all your criteria for a perfect set up for 4 couples!
“Heaven on earth!!!”
When we stayed at Blue agave we were astounded at the amazing setting. We did not want to leave the home to go to town or the beach...We could see the beautiful ocean all around and had the perfect pool...The breeze was wonderful...since the home is situaed in the perfect spot so that it does not get deathly hot like other places can. We seriously had such a wonderful time, enjoyed the iguana who lives on the property and the kids had a blast with the pool...I loved laying in the shade around the pool with the fans on...It was just heaven. We have been staying on St. John for the last 12 years and this was the nicest stay we have ever had. We will definitely be staying at Blue agave again in the future...
“Great House, great location, fantastic vacation!”
We had 6 adults for our stay to celebrate my 40th birthday! Location was perfect and the accommodations could not have been better. Highly recommend!
“Scratch ultimate island sunset view off the bucket list!”
I've watched sunsets in Hawaii, Jamaica, Turks & Caicos, Bahamas, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and California, and none of them match the view we had from the spacious patio at Blue agave this past October week. Even better, we watched from the upper-deck pool, with a completely unencumbered view of the bays of St. John's below. I can't imagine a better island vacation base. The half-dozen beaches we visited were small, intimate, uncrowded and nothing but clean white sand, thanks to the national-park influence. The park guides offer great hiking tours -- don't miss the Reef Bay Trail, which includes historic sugar mill ruins, petroglyphs and return by boat. I was pleasantly surprised by the great night-life options for food and cocktails. Woody's, the Beach Bar, Skinny Legs are great spots to get started, and we had great meals at Margaritas, Rhumba (awesome pad thai) and Spyglass. Two nights we grilled mahi mahi on the Blue agave deck -- the perfect place to relax. Our group filled three of the four bedrooms. When we weren't at the beach, we spent all of our time on the travertine-covered patio with lots of room and lounges to spread out, watch for iguanas in the trees, talk and party. The rooms are all updated with flat screens and wireless. Very private. Best of all, the owners are meticulous about keeping the rooms clean and the property tidy. Bottomline: This is the best beach vacation I've enjoyed.
“Best views and villa at a great price”
We had a vacation of a lifetime at Blue agave Villa. The villa was beyond all expectations for comfort, style, location, views and price. Our friends stayed in another villa closeby. They paid $1500 more than we did for so much less. We had more space, much better views, a quiet location, and new construction. The villa manager, Nancy, was great. She met us at the ferry and gave us a great orientation to life in Paradise. We have already scheduled to return to Blue agave next year!
We couldn't have found a more ideal place to stay. From the moment the manager escorted us to the lovely villa until we had to sadly pack up to go home, our stay at Blue agave was heavenly. It's got a perfect location for enjoying time on the deck/in the pool, as well as exploring the island's beaches and nightlife. You can tell that the property is tended to with TLC. We can't wait to go back!
“We Found Paradise”
I hesitate to tell everyone how fabulous this house is because my friends and I want to book it next year. But it is UNBELIEVEABLE. The views are amazing, the pool is perfect and the layout is great. We planned to eat dinner out most nights, but fell in love with eating dinner at the outdoor dining table overlooking Chocolate Hole and St. Thomas. We had two kids with us and after a day of snorkeling, the pool was heaven! The location makes it simple to get around the island. You do have to get the hang of driving on the left, but we were running around the island like locals our first day. There was not one thing we needed that we couldn't find in the house. It is perfectly stocked. Our friends are not speaking to us after they saw the pictures of where we were lucky enough to stay. We have stayed on Jost Van Dyke for several years, but St. John and Blue Agave is our new favorite place.
“Fantastic, breath-taking, relaxing”
Delightful location with sea views, sunset views, and comfortable breezes. Pool is perfect for relaxing after a tough day of snorkeling. Large deck area lets you spend most of your time outdoors. You can also watch the birds and iguanas. Rooms are newly and tastefully decorated. Well-supplied kitchen. Will definitely return to Blue Agave Villa.
