Welcome to this charming cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains with magnificent views overlooking the Shenandoah Valley!

Get away to an alternate reality of stress-free country living.

(And at an elevation of 1,738 feet it's always 10-15 degrees cooler than the city!)

LOCATION:

Atop the Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking the magnificent Shenandoah Valley.

Only 60 miles from the DC Beltway. Above the little town of Linden, just 5 miles east of Front Royal, the northern gateway to Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park.

In the rural Mountain View Section of Shenandoah Farms subdivision, which was planned back in the '70′s as a vacation community, on a secluded arm of Blue Mountain, the eastern slope of which is the 4,000 acre G Richard Thompson Wildlife Management Area.

(FYI: The last mile of road is County-maintained gravel, however 4WD or AWD may be recommended/required in winter , and is suggested year round.)

Deck is gated for pet convenience.

Fireplace is for ambiance only and is not an efficient heat source. Duraflame-type logs are provided and burning regular firewood in the fireplace is not allowed due to repeated occurrences of guests filling the cabin with smoke.

Outdoor fire cauldron on the deck is the only place burning regular firewood is allowed. Firewood is provided.

The hot tub will be checked daily and serviced as needed. We will try to do this while you are away, and if you're there we will try not to disturb you.

While we welcome motorcycles, most guests who have come with one have complained about the last mile of gravel road.

No special safety considerations have been implemented for small children.

Getting around

A vehicle is required. Parking is not an issue anywhere you may want to go.There is only one Uber driver in town, but many cabs. There are limo services available for winery tours.

Once final payment has been made, we will email you detailed information. Key points: ~ 4 wheel drive may be required for many days after winter storms. ~ GPS in NOT reliable and may direct you via closed roads, so PLEASE follow our directions. ~ Access is via a lockbox by the door for which you'll be sent an individualized code. ~ We live close by and are usually available in any emergencies and/or to provide local information (however cell phone coverage can be spotty around the mountain so you may not always be able to reach us immediately).

“A perfect stay, as always”

Another great getaway weekend to our favorite cabin in the woods. Chris and Steve are excellent hosts and think of everything which makes for a very relaxing stay. The cabin was spotless and equipped with every amenity we could need. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the sunset over the mountains. We'll be back soon.

All the comforts of home and then some while we celebrated our anniversary. Gorgeous sunsets,a full moon and lightning bugs at night. During the day, we explored Skyline Drive. The surrounding wineries were a delight. The views were beautiful. Birdwatching from the deck allowed us to observe the songbirds really close with the cabin's binoculars. We ate out a couple times at Thornton River Grille in Sperryville, but cooking in the well organized kitchen was a pleasure. Chris and Steve checked in with us via email a few times to ensure we were doing OK. That was very considerate! We requested country fresh eggs and were not disappointed. Wish we could buy eggs like those at home!

The cabin was absolutely amazing. Spectacularly clean. Really added that touch of home. The view is so much better in person. Every little detail was taken into consideration. The work of Chris and Steve really showed in every aspect of the home. We had an amazing weekend just relaxing in the hot tub and sittting around the fireplace. Can't say enough how great the place was. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you again!!

This cabin provided a perfect place for my husband and I to get away for some rest, relaxation, and awesome hiking in the Shenandoah National Park! We enjoyed beautiful views, lots of privacy, a very comfortable cabin fully equipped with all the necessary provisions, and a luxurious hot tub on the spacious deck. We especially appreciated the plethora of brochures and maps that were available to help us make the most of navigating through our daytime hikes in the park. This place is a gem; it is very welcoming with a great location and provides lots of amenities. We would definitely come back again.

I spent an amazing weekend at this beautiful cabin.. My husband and I planned to go to local wineries but the cabin was so perfect that we ended up just staying at the cabin enjoying the hot tub and enjoying the bottle of wine the owners left for us. We arrived late Friday night to a beautifully lit cabin.. The owners turned the lights on for us bc we were arriving late.. Chris and Steve were wonderful with communication and information I would recommend this cabin to everyone and I definitely plan on returning very very soon! Also I left my earrings there and they were gracious enough to offer to send them to me.. If there were 10 stars they would get that rating from me! Thanks again!
