“Rustic woods setting that cries out for some updating inside the home.”
Perfect location in Yosemite and a decent house with a quiet forest setting. It feels like nothing inside the house has been updated for many years. The outdoor deck BBQ seems like it's on its last legs. The owner, Carol, was very responsive, helpful and courteous. The four of us all agreed that with a little expense this rental experience could be substantially improved.
Response from the owner Thank you for you review. We appreciate your taking the time to write it. We hope to see you again at Top of the Pines.
“Peaceful, roomy, and inside the park!”
We stayed here for a week with our family and 2 close friends. We had plenty of room and were pleased with the amenities. The decks were wonderful for relaxing and watching hummingbirds, squirrels, and a bear family! We would definitely stay here again!
“Wonderful Spot in Yosemite”
This was our third time in Yosemite and our new favorite spot! We were there for Spring Break and the Valley had a number of visitors; it was great to escape the crowds and return to peaceful surroundings at the Top of the Pines. It was about 20 minute drive to the Valley, but each day brought new views and different lighting to the scenery. The home is just as described; was very clean and neat; beds comfy and cozy with extra blankets. They even stocked wood for evening fires. Overall, a wonderful vacation rental!
“Perfect in Everyway!”
Carol and al have thought of everything anyone could want or need in a vacation rental. Top of the Pines feels like a home, very warm, inviting and comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring Mariposa Grove and Glacier Point. The valley is an easy 20 min. drive. We are so happy to have found this home and will definitely stay here again as well as recommend it to our friends.
Top of the Pines was a great place with a central location between Glacier Point, the Mariposa Grove and Yosemite Valley. It offered a cozy, comfortable base in a secluded yet easily accessible area from which to explore the park. It was a nice luxury to be able to return "home" and relax after a hard day's hike to a log fire and a home-cooked meal. Overall a really great experience.
The rooms are spacious. They view is spectacular. There is no one closely. You only see the forest.
“A Peaceful Retreat”
My husband and I love staying at Top of the Pines. It is in a wonderful setting, on a hillside surrounded by pine trees. The tranquility and beauty of the location make for a wonderful vacation in Yosemite! The townhouse is very nice, with everything one could possibly need provided by the owner. It's so much better than staying in Yosemite Valley. We hope to return here for many more vacations.
“A highly recommended place to stay”
My wife and I have stayed at Top of the Pines many times since the mid 90's. Carol and al are gracious hosts and their place is both convenient and cozy with a delightful woodsy ambience. The kitchen is well appointed and the beds quite comfortable. We're serious hikers, so I particularly like the spacious deck that faces west providing good light throughout the early evening to relax on before dinner. The Yosemite West complex is ideal location for those who want explore both the valley and the Mariposa Grove area during their visit. But the best thing to do from that vantage is to make a dawn visit to Glacier Point for the breathtaking experience of Half Dome and the entire canyon below as it wakes up. Whenever we've gone to the valley there has never been a reason to consider staying elsewhere, unless it's Top of the Pines is already rented.
“We love Top of the Pines”
Our son works in Yosemite so we visit once per year and have been for several years. I first discovered this property when travelling with a friend. I had stayed at several other over the years but they were just OK. From the moment I made the reservation, Carol couldn't have been more helpful. Once I arrived and checked out the property I knew that my husband and I would stay here the next time we visited. The property is well kept, clean and very well stocked. Carol includes all appliances and all paper goods as well as a fully stocked kitchen. Only only need bring food, Carol has spices and hot chocolate and probably coffee since we don't drink it I didn't notice. For people travelling with kids, there is a stroller a crib a highchair as well as a jr bed. There are two decks one upstairs as well as downstairs for the two bedrooms downstairs. If I have to pick one thing that I don't like, the bathrooms are a bit small and don't have room for makeup and or toiletries. I would hightly recommend Top of The Pines. We won't stay anywhere else, we have stayed at many.
It was like going home! Very comfortable and good for the soul - looking out on top of the trees! Cant wait to return next year!
