Description

YUM BOTIC, which means "thank you" in Mayan, is a spacious 2500 sq. ft. three-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom villa located on a 213 foot pristine private beach in Uvero, Mahahual, Costa Maya, the southernmost area of the Mexican Caribbean, in the state of Quintana Roo.

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all and be surrounded by palm trees and sea, YUM BOTIC is for you. Wake up to the songs of tropical birds and the soothing sounds of the waves. Watch spectacular sunrises, sunsets and evening star shows. Open your door to your 213 foot wide beach and turquoise sea.

YUM BOTIC's curved design captures the Caribbean sea breezes for your comfort. Its 11 foot ceilings and transom windows enhance cross ventilation. When neccessary, ceiling fans cool each room. The home has a fully tiled interior.

The first floor has a combined living room, dinning room and kitchen. The well-equipped kitchen has built in wood cabinets, granite counter tops, a full refrigerator/freezer and a gas oven. A French press and Melita filters are there for your morning brew. A variety of kitchen tools, condiments and herbal teas are available. The handmade wood dinning table seats six. Large screened glass doors provide breath-taking views and access to the covered tiled patio and the beach beyond. Enjoy swaying in a large Yucatan hammock, relaxing on a chaise lounge or swimming in the warm sea. A large, natural material sun umbrella or palapa keeps you in the shade and on the beach. Two outdoor showers let you shed the salt water before returning indoors. The roomy first floor bedroom with full bath and marble sink has its own screened door out to the patio.

A hard wood staircase brings you to the spacious master bedroom with its three sliding screened doors that open out to the expansive terrace. Its full bath has a double-headed shower. The other ample size second floor bedroom has a full bath and its own access to the terrace.

Enjoy breakfast outside in the garden patio and brunch lunch and/or dinner on the large glass table on the sea view terrace. Take your computer out there and connect up with the internet and enjoy conversation with friends and family at home.

There is a full time on-site caretaker who lives in a separate small house away from the main house. He takes care of the grounds and will help you with what you need. If you wish extra cleaning, clothes washed, or fresh fish you may make arrangements directly with him.

Yum Botic Villa is a 30 minute drive from Mahahual where you will find grocery stores, diving and snorkeling shops, great restaurants, crafts shops and a Malecon walkway along the beach. There is also a restaurant about 15 minutes away. We are far away from tourists and cruise ships. A van passes by Yum Botic Villa 2 times a week from which you may purchase vegetables, fruits, eggs, tortillas, poultry and request other foods for the next time the van passes by.

In the nearby area, there are Mayan archeological sites to explore, Bacalar's famed lake of many colors, an old Spanish fort and a zip-line to visit in Bacalar, snorkeling and scuba diving to experience including at world famous Chinchorro Reef, a Mayan Museum and typical Mexican market in Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo, to see and much more.

La gran mayoría de los invitados hablan como es maravillosa el lugar., Si tuvimos Yum Botic cubiertos de lujo, platos y otros artículos que podría estar acostumbrado a tener en casa. A menudo el servicio de 8 personas y tienen suficientes áreas de asientos y sillas para todos. Mis cuidadores me dijeron que no quería que entran ellos en la casa para limpiar o cambiar las toallas. Es por eso que tenía que pedirlas.. En cualquier momento podría haber contactado conmigo personalmente para cualquiera de sus preocupaciones, pero nunca escuché de usted. En la información que envié le aconsejé acerca de la distancia a la ciudad, la condición de la carretera sin pavimentar para los últimos 6 kilómetros de la Villa, la necesidad de llevar repelente de insectos durante los meses de verano. Lo miso para los dos kayaks individuales. Desafortunadamente tomó mucho tiempo para descubrir cómo usted quisiera que le enviara el depósito reembolsable detrás.

Response from the owner We are glad you felt Yum Botic Villa's beach and service were wonderful. We are sad that your experience had some unpleasant surprises for you and would like to clarify your concerns. Air conditioning is available only with prior arrangements and at an extra cost which your party didn't arrange. During December there weather is cool at night and there is really no need for it. New batteries and solar panels were installed in 2012 and the generator is from 2011. I am sad to hear that the fans weren't working well or that you felt there was back up gas in the showers. We make ourselves available by phone and email so If you had contacted us when these issues arose, these concerns and other would have been quickly dealt with. All the windows and doors have screens on them to keep the bugs out. I am surprised that you found any missing and I am sad if some of them got into the house. The caretaker usually fumigates both the inside and around the entire house before each guests arrives. I apologize if the caretaker didn't replace any broken screen or fumigated again..I wish you had contacted me and so I could had him take care of it . There are curtains on all the large glass doors facing the beach. I agree that if would have been good to have curtains for the two windows in the first floor bedroom when you were there. They are there now. The two second floor bedrooms are high enough that curtains are not really needed for privacy, but we have since put them in so the morning light doesn't disturb late sleepers. The distance from town is stated in all materials about the villa. There are only ATM machines and a money exchange business in Mahahual as it is a small, but definitely growing, Mexican town. Banks are found only in Chetumal along with supermarkets and other large stores. Besides banks, Mahahual has what one would need for groceries and goods needed for a week or two stay. The dogs are there for security as their barking alerts the caretaker to check around the property day or night. Thank you for your comments and I hope our comments are helpful.
