“Sonoma Retreat”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2010

Our experience in Sonoma at amadora House was spectacular. The house is beautiful and the amenities were plentiful. The abundance of fruit and flowers on the property was such a special treat. The gazebo area was a great place to relax and sample the many wines we purchased on our stay. We can't wait to come back and we will definitely stay here again.

“A Great Getaway”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2010

Four friends and I rented Amadora House for a long week-end. It could not have been more perfect. The house is elegant, yet very inviting and comfortable. The entire yard was a beautiful floral landscape--it was like being in a botanical garden. An orange tree was covered with oranges. Everything we needed was there. The location was great. It's a short walk into town, and it's close to all the wineries. One day we even drove to Sonoma Coastal Park (about an hour and a half through beautiful, green, rolling hills) and did a fabulous hike on the bluffs above the ocean. On top of all that, Joe is incredibly helpful. He gave us a lot of information before we left, and he answered all of our questions. I have rented a lot of properties all over the world, and Amadora House is very close to the top of my list of favorites.

“Definitely going back!”

We stayed at Amadora for the second time in March. Our first stay was in August 2009, the first time we booked a rental home. We were very pleased with the house – the beds (with multiple pillows) were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and dining at home, and there were plenty of stem glasses for red, white and bubbly wines. The gardens were spacious and a lot of fun. There were so many peaches in the trees and they were low enough to pick without a ladder. We made smoothies out of them. We also harvested strawberries, raspberries and tomatoes. On our second stay, the spacious game room, which was converted from a detached two car garage, was completed. It came with a pool table and a large screen TV. Unfortunately the men in our party, the husbands and boyfriend, liked it so much they pretty much commandeered the room. The ladies got the house and the gardens (lol). We loved lounging around in the gazebo in the middle of the fruit trees, next to a new water fountain. The location is great, the house is located between Sonoma Plaza and all the wineries on highway 12. We felt like we were in the country, even though we were in town. It is a great place to wind down and relax. We will make our third trip later this year.
