The perfect location. Ideal for seeing the historic sites, dining, shopping or sight seeing.
At the heart of Istiklal Street which is the heart of Taxim - the heart of Istanbul.
A spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with sofa bed in the lounge, in a historic building. Renovated and refurbished to the highest standards. The best of the old with all modern conveniences. Central heating, and air conditioning. Modern kitchen and full marble bathrooms, both with walk in showers.
Across the Street there is a convenience store, Restaurants, bars and shopping. Down the street there are art and antique shops, a bakery and cafe's. Easy access to all the historic locations, Trams, Metro and Taxi's.
There is a local mobile phone in the apartment for you to use when you are out and about. It is pay as you go and can be topped up at any Vodaphone store, the nearest being a few meters from the apartment.
Both bedrooms have there own bathrooms with twin sinks and walk in showers. The beds are queen size with new mattresses and high quality linens. Towels are also supplied and are Turkish cotton - what else!
A play cot - bassinet is also available for rent should you need it.
In the spacious lounge there are 2 sofas. One is a queen size sofa bed for a third couple.
The Kitchen has new appliances including dish washer, oven, microwave, fridge etc.
There is also a washer dryer for guests to use.
Drinking water is supplied from a tower fountain and the house water is filtered as well.

Due to new regulations introduced in January 2017 all property owners are responsible to provide the local police with Valid ID information on all guests. I therefore need copies of Passport or relevant travel documents for all people staying in the apartment. The dates are booked for you but cannot confirme till I am in possession of these documents. un'ottima scelta per vivere la citta' nel centro della famosissima Istiklal Caddesi ed allo stesso tempo nella tranquilla e silenziosa stradina in cui si trova l'appartamento di Mr David proprietario gentilissimo, disponibile e premuroso , ad attenderci il cordialissimo Suleyman, che ci ha fatto capire che sarebbe stato felice di aiutarci se ne avessimo avuto bisogno l'appartamento, ripreso fiato dopo le scale ..., e' apparso come ce lo aspettavamo, anzi..ancor piu' bello ! ampie camere e bagni bellissimi, cucina attrezzata per ogni esigenza, massima pulizia e comfort...: il piu' bello che abbiamo trovato in tutti questi anni di viaggi !! sotto casa un ottimo posto dove mangiare con un proprietario simpatico e molto ospitale ( Arayane) e sempre in zona, nella vicinissima Nevizade, tantissimi locali da provare... una citta' bellissima, da gustare un po' alla volta, dove ritornare per vedere le cose non viste e per riassaporare altre, che hanno lasciato un ottimo ricordo Consigliatissimo
“Very Nice apartment”
Our family of four stayed at this large and very comfortable apartment for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute. Great location next to Taksim square with great shopping and heaps of nice and affordable eats. Apartment was exceptionally clean and modern. Some stairs to climb but that was no issue for us. Owner lives o/seas but easily contacted and always responds quickly. Would definatel stay here again next time we visit Istanbul.
“Great location and comfort”
We received very good, comprehensive, friendly advance info from David which made our arrival at Istanbul and the apartment easy. On arrival, Suleyman met us, helped us carry bags and showed us around apartment. The apartment was very good, with comfortable beds, good plumbing, lots of living space, great kitchen. Lots of Istanbul travel info supplied. We ate in quite a bit and the kitchen was great for this. David also provides a mobile phone that you can use for basic calls. I have to mention a few things for prospective users. Firstly, the steps can be challenging and I would think elderly or those who aren't strong would find these a challenge. We found the entertainment system (TV, sound etc) a bit difficult but this could have been our incompetence. The other issue was mosquitoes. These could be controlled by spray, but worth knowing in advance. These minor negatives should not dissuade, just advise. All in all a recommended apartment. Close to everything worthwhile and easy travel to Sultanahmet area.
The apartment is superbly located there is no where else in Istanbul location wise which makes everything so easy and possible from here! the apartment is very well set up for 2 couples to share the Kitchen is very well equipped (although our 1 pint of milk looked a bit silly in that lovely big fridge!)Bathrooms are beautiful, beds large. furniture solid. had problems using TV, but really not an issue.
“Comfortable, modern, convenient, perfect place to stay”
We spent 3 nights at the Orient Pearl. Two couples on our first trip to Istanbul. Great location. Comfortable, clean, modern apartment. Great bathrooms, comfortable beds, adequate room, everything we needed. Would highly recommend. All the right technology as well.
“Haven right in the center of Istanbul”
Oreintal pearl has a great location if you want to be in e midst of action in Istanbul. The old town ( sultanahmet.) is a 20 minute walk. It is less than half a block from Istiklal street. Nonetheless, the apartment is well buffered from the noise from Istiklal street. The apartment is very well maintained! With nice hardwood floors. The floors are nice and clean as David recommends the guests to take shoes off at the doorway. The kitchen is very well furnished with modern amenities. The bathrooms are gorgeous. The bedrooms are not huge but typical for boutique European hotels. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. The living room has sofa bed a an additional leather sofa with a chaise. The living room and kitchen had beautiful crystal chandeleirs with ambient lighting. All in all the apartment has everything to make your stay comfortable. I felt that our party of 6 had more than enough room for all of us. Suleiman is around to provide you the keys and guide you into the apartment. Since he knows only a little English, you may have to talk to Ugur to clarify certain things. Taxis are available 24 hours from Istiklal street. We took a taxi at 4 am and had to wait less that 5 minutes. The apartment was a great haven for us in busy Istanbul and made our vacation memorable and compensating for the 3 days of cloudy and rainy weather. Do remember that the apartment is on 3rd floor (us) or 2nd floor (European) with 18-20 stairs in each flight, so be ready to bet some exercise.
“Great Orient Pearl Rental apartment in Istanbul!”
A friend and I spent a week in the Orient Pearl apartment and enjoyed it very much. The apartment is very nicely laid out, with modern and high quality features such as flatscreen TV, stereo system, appliances, bedding, washer/dryer. The location is incredible, just a block from Istiklal, the main commercial/shopping corridor near Taksim Square. Twice during our stay we emailed the management with questions and, in both instances, received quick replies with good answers. I highly recommend the Orient Pearl to any traveler.
“Great apartment in great location!”
Quite simply this is a fantastic apartment in a fantastic location. In my opinion it is located in the best neighborhood in Istanbul for a tourist stay. It is one block from the main pedestrian street that has sights, shopping, restaurants, and is centrally located. The apartment is large, modern, well appointed and very comfortable. It is also very quiet. There is no noise from the street. It fit my family of four, two adults and two children, very comfortably. One thing that made this rental easy was the responsiveness and thoughtfulness of the owner. David made things easy. For example he provided printed directions to the apartment in Turkish for us to give to our taxi driver on arrival. He responded promptly to inquiries and gave us helpful suggestions about neighborhood resources. It seems that he occupies this apartment from time to time and he is proud of this property and wants his guests to have a good experience. He and the apartment did not dissapoint. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment or to stay there again on a future visit to Istanbul.
I traveled to Istanbul with my wife and two college aged daughters in mid May. We chose the Orient Pearl after reading reviews and checking the pictures. It turned out to be a great decision. Great location if you want to be in the middle of the lively action of Istanbul. I greatly preferred being in the Beyoglu section of town. When we ventured into the Sultanahmed area (where the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofya etc.attractions), it was much more touristy and annoying. It was a short walk to both the Tunel and Taksim funiculars. They both connect to the trains. In other words, it is very easy to get to almost any place in Istanbul from the Orient Pearl. Inside had all of the amenities that a person of reasonable expectations would want. We never could figure out how to get the web browser on the t.v. into English. All of our wifi equipment worked very well in the apartment. My wife is very particular about accommodations. She was very pleased. In fact, we are getting a new rain shower head at home because of the Orient Pearl. Taking a shower was one of the daily highlights. To sum it up, it was a great value for a vacation to a fabulous city. Most americans don't know what they are missing. Istanbul has something for everyone.
We are 2 couples that adventure together. For us it was our first time in Turkey, our friends had been before and chose the location for us to stay. We were hesitant to say the least about travelling to Turkey but had heard so many good things about Istanbul and we weren't disappointed. 4 days is not enough. The first 2 days we did the Blue Mosque, Palaces, and Grand Bazaar etc. But there is so much to see and do in the area of the apartment. Galata Tower, Churches, Hamam's and some of the most amazing shops. All the international companies like Gap and Benton are on Istiklal, the main street (It has the cutest little tram that you can ride on from one end to the other]. Down the side streets and in the adjacent arcades, called passages, there are the most amazing shops with original Turkish items, new and antiques. The more you look the more little gems you find. Rooftop terraces for breakfast or dinner, courtyards with coffee shops or bars in them, hidden churches and Hamam's and other ancient sites in amongst the buildings. The apartment was one of the best we have ever stayed in. We were blown away by the marble bathrooms. There is so much attention to detail and it has been furnished in a very modern way that has a traditional feel to it. Chandeliers, leather sofa and the most amazing high TEC TV with skype! The Turkish people are warm and friendly and we felt safe everywhere we went. Most people speak at least a little English but learn a few words of Turkish and you will always have a warm welcome.
