“Parfait !!”

Reviewed 11 May 2015

“Great place, great view, postcard beach”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2015

Extended family stayed for a week, house was maintained very well and had most everything you would want in it and when we needed something there was someone to take care of it. Lots of different private sitting areas out doors. Views are not exaggerated in pictures, back side of house patio is an awesome view right out at st Barth. We were concerned with the Westin blocking view from satellite and pictures but it dosent, it's there but not a distraction: 1) house is higher up so you see over it and 2) house natural viewing area and sitting areas are angled diagonal past building. One of the best views we've ever had and constant background of waves on the beach. Can be windy but with individual electric hurricane shutters for each opening you can control it if too breezy. Morning sun and sun rise, pool goes fully into shade by around 330, beach and sun deck keep sun till late. Pool is a small plunge pool but didn't feel cramped with several people in it and surprisingly 6' deep in deep end, you aren't going to do laps but we weren't sure what to expect from pictures and were quite pleased also it seems to stay refreshingly cool. that close(attached) to house somehow makes pool use more frequent. Waves were big enough most days for some body surfing but pretty gradual beach in general with very few rocks. Too wavy for a 3 year old without a constant adult in water at same time though not too much if you are there. 4 Bedrooms though 1 is pretty small, 2 true masters. 3rd bathroom (wet room) a little odd for Americans but normal for Asia/Europe. Beds comfortable, separate mini split AC units in every room and cool things fast. Well equipped kitchen, big living room but we spent very little time there as patio has couch, chairs, dining table/chairs and lounge chairs. Stairs, pool and concrete initially made us nervous With a 36 month old but we had no issues, again you could close hurricane shutters if you were overly concerned. Stairs and walk to beach a bit of effort though 3 65+ year olds had no issues. Initially felt like we were intruding on Westins beach but only chairs are theirs, beach is open (we talked to westin security on rules). BBQ in front and another garden area with table and chairs. Westin has a beach bar, it's fine. Casino has modified a few rules in the houses favor and had $100 table limits most nights we were there. Nice, fairly new and perfectly maintained grounds. Location is quiet, oyster pond has a few shops that seem to cater to marina set, a few restaurants that are pretty good but otherwise sleepy area. Beach down the hill and in front of westin (dawn beach) practically deserted though one of nicest on island. Zero people trying to sell you stuff, massage you, braid you. Maybe because there dosent appear to be public access only 10-15 villas and the westin. Drive seems far but nothing is far, 10-20 mins to anything (orient beach, grand case, pinel, Phillipsburg, etc). Private chef recommended by David, romain, is great and well worth it, food is great, he preps, serves and cleans and no way you can get same value at a nice restaurant especially if you add wine and drinks to the savings it's a no brainier. Private yacht charter is a company recommended by David for chartered catamarans, great service and sweet boat right out of oyster pond. Actually all of David's recommendations were spot on. Booked with a little bit of nerves as we did direct bank transfers and didn't know owner nor anyone that had stayed there before. Had some issues as my bank only allowed 1k per 24hour period so added to my nerves. David was Patient and it all turned out great. No hidden fees after the fact, a few tips here and there but everything clear and on the up and up. Only negatives: 1) Driveway is an adventure to get into with a van but I got the hang of it by the 2nd day. 2) Back side of island is less developed and so are the areas not on the water (meaning less maintained). Never felt security was an issue even at night though those less traveled may jump to conclusions in nearby towns and with all the gates and bars you see. Overall David was great, house was great, view was great and highly recommend.

“Photos do not do it justice! Simply magnificent, exceptionally safe and comfortable, impeccably maintained!”

We stayed at Villa Oyster Pearl last week and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the property. Our party consisted of 4 adults and 4 teenage children. I’ll start by mentioning the photos on the web site are very good, but they don’t do justice to the villa. The furnishings in the living room and terrace were all newly purchased and were not featured in the photos online. The tile, marble and other stone work featured throughout the home and property were simply magnificent. The villa was exceptionally clean, safe and comfortable. The property is also impeccably maintained. In a word, David, the owner, under promised and over delivered! We enjoyed dinners in and out, but especially those prepared by Romain, the private chef recommended by David. We also visited the fish market mid-week and purchased snapper, Mahi Mahi and lobsters which we enjoyed preparing on the large, clean outdoor gas grill one evening. Despite the size of our group, we never felt cramped or crowded indoors or out. David was extremely helpful and responsive during the reservation and planning process. Nadine, the property manager was also very helpful and hospitable during our stay. They both provided many useful suggestions for rental cars, shopping, day trips and the villa was stocked with all the provisions we requested upon our arrival. Nadine also spoiled us with fresh pastries and croissants several mornings! We’ve been fortunate to have many warm weather family vacations during the winter over the years and our stay at Villa Oyster Pearl was our favorite so far. We look forward to visiting Villa Oyster Pearl again and again!

“Paradise Found!!”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2014

We spent a week at Villa Oyster Pearl with our two kids (18 and 21) and good friends with their daughter and a friend (15 and 15). The villa is clean and superbly comfortable with ample room for all. The entire home is decorated with beautiful travertine tile and marble floors...the color schemes, highly detailed tile work, furniture, bathrooms and home decorations are perfectly suited for a beach villa. Much of the furniture was brand new and very comfortable. The beds and bedding were very comfortable! There are also beautifully done outdoor areas including a spectacular tiled veranda overlooking Dawn Beach and the ocean (sitting on the veranda with a cup of joe every morning was a personal highlight), a pool at the edge of the veranda, an outdoor stone-patio lounging area with four loungers at the upper level and an additional outdoor deck lounging area with four loungers at the lower level (with outdoor shower), both overlooking the water. There are plenty of towels for the baths and beach, the kitchen is well outfitted and there are plenty of snorkels, masks, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. for enjoying the beach. This villa has it all! We could not imagine staying in a hotel instead of the villa for the week (though, the Westin Dawn beach is a stone's throw from the villa with a nice beach bar, etc.). The villa is beautifully perched above Dawn Beach (providing the magnificent vistas) with a short walk (2 minutes) down to the beach along a sometimes uneven path...we had no problem negotiating the path but elderly adults may have trouble. The driveway is steep and created a challenge when entering and exiting but we managed it fine throughout the week. Owner David and manger Nadine were the perfect hosts helping us at every turn with every question and request. We also enjoyed several meals with a private chef, Romain, who was recommended to us by David...Romain was great! All in all, a vacation we will never forget!!

“Fabulous - felt like home”

St Maartens is a wonderful island for a vacation. This was a family vacation. Mom, dad, kids and 2 friends. The villa was perfect. Very clean and well maintained. Was convenient to many things. Craig, the villa caretaker, was great and wonderful host. We did have hire a private chef for a meal at the villa. Chef Ramon was excellent. The meal was one of the best meals we had on the island. Besides spending time at beaches ( Orient, Baie Rouge, Dawn, Maho) we did the extreme zip line and Rhino Safari snorkeling. We also took the ferry from Marigot to anguille. Shoal Bay East on aguilla is very beautiful. The kids definitely want to come back. Thanks for helping make this such a wonderful and memorable vacation.

“Awesome Villa and awesome Caretaker”

Reviewed 14 May 2013

My group of 4 ladies just spent a wonderful week in Villa Oyster Pearl. The Villa had everything we needed to include a charming young caretaker who took care of runs to the grocery store, drug store, etc. He even accompanied one of us downtown to purchase a diamond ring! (Highly recommend Shiva's.) We felt very safe at the Villa. There are only two downsides to the Villa: A steep walk down to the beach (excellent beach, by the way), and the view to center/right overlooks the roof of a large hotel. We had not expected to see the roof of the hotel! There is a great view over the roof, but still the roof is there. All-in-all, however, the villa was superb!

We visited St. Martin week of February 22nd what great time, our group of 7 adults were warmly welcomed by Craig the caretaker who is full of advise and general knowledge regarding getting around the island, restaurants etc.You will probably not want to leave once you settle in and relax on the outdoor veranda to view the beautiful sea and enjoy the warm breeze. We didn't have the ac on at all as the villa has lovely breeze constantly so you sleep well in comfortable spacious rooms.Kitchen is well equipt we cooked our meals, barbequed and went out for dinner. The location requires a vehicle as you are not within walking distance to grocery store,or convenience store which is close but you need to be in very good physical condition to walk the steep roads.Generally it is very safe, villa is gated,we had no issues.Beach is beautiful, quiet and clean.Westin sits directly to the right of the villa I only ventured to the casino once.Lovely pool on the veranda. David is the owner and will answer any questions and offer assistance if needed.Overall this was a very nice vacation in a 5 star villa, would definitely return. Mach Ontario,Canada

“Recommended for any age family or friends/couples groups !!”

Our extended family, 6 adults and 2 infants, experienced a wonderful winter respite 26 Jan-Feb 2 at Villa Oyster Pearl...on-site caretaker Craig was always cheerfully helpful and readily available (by house-supplied cell phone). Floors and bath tile work were lovely...a positive reflection of owner David's business and the villa has tastefully eclectic decor and comfortable furniture. Clean and working outdoor gas grill is conveniently located and well-lit as are house grounds in general. Large motorized outdoor archways and window shutters are a real plus, allowing alteration of wind and sun exposure. A bevy of lovely yellow banana quits were readily available for up-close viewing at the daily sugar-supplied feeder. Nastesha provided excellent quiet-as-a-mouse housecleaning services twice during the week and also arranged requested "Pack & Play" cribs for the infants. Pluses of location include... great ocean views(St.Barts in distance and lovely Dawn Beach below and to the left, Westin blocks view of beach to right), walkable or short drive to nearby beach bar/Pizza/dinner at Daniel's and Big Fish...and visits to adjacent Westin bar and casino. Le Galion beach is not far by car, highly recommended for children/infants and just down the same road from Buttefly farm which is worth a visit. Walking down steps to lower gazebo sitting/sunbathing area and to Dawn Beach requires a relatively sure foot, and is likely not suitable for persons with more than minimal gait or physical limitations.

“our family wonderful week at Oyster Pearl”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2013

My family of 8 (6adults and 2 children under 3) loved our week at your place. We used 4 of the 5 bedrooms. We slept late everyday due to the darkening storm blinds which we lowered each night. Separate air conditioning controls in each room also provided a level of comfort not often found in villas. The porch with the million dollar view is unmatched and family room/tv room with full length windows on all 3 sides was also great. Best of all was the waves, the crystal clear water and the constant ocean breeze. The outdoor dinning table which was on the porch added to my family's pleasure. Having Craig as the "houseboy" came in handy: he picked up our family who came in late to the airport, he gave us directions, helped us for numerous things; but in general stayed out of the way except when needed.
