“Cacimar just keeps getting better”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

Just got back from a fourth stay at Cacimar House, which is really starting to feel like a home away from home. I was very impressed by how well the gardens and grounds are being maintained and expanded - the pool is surrounded by beautiful lush greenery that provides a great deal of privacy. As a enthusiastic cook, it's also great to see an increasing number of great food options available on the island, and to have a kitchen at Cacimar that's equipped for any culinary adventure. There's a fabulous new BBQ big enough to cook for a small army. The house feels more comfortable and looks more beautiful than ever. I love how Cacimar's hill-top location gives you a sense of being 'on top of the world' in a private villa, and how its proximity to the town of Isabella Segunda makes you feel like you're really connected to the local community. We were visited by a small herd of Nubian goats one evening during cocktail hour. Such beautiful and gentle creatures, much like the wild horses you see grazing on the slopes across the valley in the morning... And the Cacimar sunsets, each so uniquely spectacular! I can't wait to return.

Response from the owner It is terrific to have you back as a repeat guest - and so rewarding to hear that each trip brings you closer to this enchanting place!

“Cacimar House - the best place to stay on Vieques”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

We recently had the opportunity to return for another fabulous stay at Cacimar House on Vieques. As always, the house was the welcoming, clean, comfortable place we have grown to love. The island and property were particularly lush and green at this time of year. I'm always amazed at the beautiful and friendly wild horses that wonder carelessly about the island. We always enjoy taking a dip in the pool at the house in the morning and after we get back from our various trips to the amazing beaches around the island. If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay with family and or friends, look no farther than Caicimar House. It has everything you could ask for and more. Thnaks again to our wonderful hosts who made the stay so memorable. :-)

Response from the owner Thank you for sharing - we are delighted to have you back. And your photos are a great visualization of, well, Paradise in a Vieques-sized package.

“Cacimar House: Amazing!”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

I stayed at Cacimar House for a week in November 2013 and all together it was an amazing experience. Not only is the Cacimar House beautifully situated atop a hill with great western views (think sunsets) it was also clean, well ordered, maintained and stocked with all the essentials. It was a pleasure to stay there. My favorite part of Cacimar House is the great pool & pool deck. Lots of privacy and just enough jungle to remind you that you're in the caribbean. I highly recommend Cacimar House and would stay again! :-)

“Outstanding!”

What a wonderful time! The home was absolutely beautiful. Excellent view, good sized, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms, beautiful outdoor and indoor dining areas... This place has it all! The island itself is absolutely stunning, and will capture your imagination. You'll find yourself itching to come back again and again. Super private, deserted beaches, excellent food, plenty of sunshine, the list goes on!! Thanks very much to the owners for making this an unforgettable vacation, in the most gorgeous place I've ever been.

“Third trip to fabulous Cacimar House”

Reviewed 15 Feb 2012

I just got back from my third - and possibly mostly enjoyable yet - visit to Cacimar House. I have nothing but great things to say about the house and its great location high on the hill with stunning views of the surrounding area. There is nothing like relaxing in the pool after a fabulous day at the beach. We enjoyed cooking on the BBQ and savoured sitting on the terrace watching the sun go down. I don't understand how anyone could have anything but great things to say about the house. It is well appointed and very comfortable. The place is a wonderful escape and a relaxing oasis. I have no hesitation to highly recommend Cacimar House to anyone who visits Vieques. You will love it!

“Just what we hoped for...”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2012

My family stayed at Cacimar house for one week. Myself, my wife, my 7 year old daughter, and my parents shared the house for a week. Charles, the owner, gave us great advice with regard to traveling to Vieques and what to expect once there. The caretakers, Paul and Ricci, were also available and very helpful. Both the house and Vieques itself were as advertised. I was concerned after reading a recent prior review, but our experience was thankfully the exact opposite. We all look forward to returning next year!

“Low key and relaxing setting enjoyed by three generations!”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2012

Just returned from a week at Cacimar House. Friendly and picuresque setting where our biggest problem was choosing a beach to explore each day!! The local people were welcoming and seemed pleased to have us practice our Spanish while there. The plane ride from PR to Vieques was spectacular. Paul's informative tour upon arrival set the tone for our week. The home is well appointed and well maintained...It was so nice to relax there each evening after a day of exploration. Would also recommend the bio bay tour...a once in a life time experience. My family and I hope to return! Susan

“The Best in Vieques!”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2010

For over 20 years my husband and I have been renting vacation homes for our annual trip to Vieques. In 2009, we discovered Cacimar House, by far the best. This beautiful home, which sits high on a hill, is tastefully furnished, very well appointed and immaculate. The owner, Charlie McKee, is responsive and involved. The caretakers, Paul and Ricci, are friendly, informative and efficient. My favorite room is the screened sun-porch off the master bedroom, the perfect place to curl up with a good book. Whether watching the sunset from the outdoor patio or enjoying a swim in the lovely pool, you can gaze across the sea to glimpse Fajardo and Culebra in the distance. Heaven! However, behavorial data is even more meaningful than words, and we'll be returning for our third straight annual visit in March 2011.
