Very Good

“A week in Smoky Mountain paradise”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2015

My wife and I stayed here as part of a two week holiday. We had always wanted to visit the Smoky Mountains and this cabin served as the perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the United States. The cabin is very private and tranquil, with amazing views. It's also appointed with everything you need for a relaxing holiday, from kitchen utensils and cable TV / DVD player to a very comfortable bed and hot tub. We were mesmerised by the beauty of the landscape and the animals that we shared it with. We were amazed by the number of hummingbirds that were buzzing around and the resident chipmunks were super cute. Jim and Lou were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. They made us feel very much at home and we'll definitely stay in touch with them. We also enjoyed the visits from their dogs Smoky and Radar. I would recommend this place to anyone and we'll definitely be back.

“What a View, What a Host”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2014

Although things have changed since we last visited, It was still a great getaway. Jim Kerner , the manager is such a great host along with Smokey and Radar. The view is great, the quiet surroundings and the cool air considering it was warmer at Maggie Valley and Cherokee ( 5000 ft Elevation ). Fantastic stay, everything you need except your food. Envious of the Kerner's that live nearby (you would never know it), Worth every penny.

This cabin was exactly as advertised. The owner was very gracious and the scenery was amazing. We will be back.

“Charming Cabin”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2014

We stayed here with our parents and found the cabin to be clean, comfortable and charming. The view was breathtaking, the ocation was great and the fire pit was perfect for cool evenings! We will definitely be back!

“relaxing in the clouds”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2014

my wife and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin in the clouds. The cabin was so well thought out with every convenience the only thing we brought was food. after a day of sight seeing or just sitting around the fire pit the hot tub was a very nice amenity. we had our brat terrier with us so it was so on when prissy met radar [Jim & Lou's dog]. they played for hours in and out of the house. all in all it was a wonderful stay and we will be back. thanks Jim & Lou. “The closest thing to Heaven!”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2014

The service was outstanding ,Jim (owner) e-mailed us to see if there was anything that we needed. The cabin was just as described and we loved the smell of the wood, ( we believe Cedar)it made it even more enjoyable. The Location was fantastic so quiet and tranquil, it seemed you could almost reach up and touch the clouds. Our 13 year old dog loved it, with the back fenced in yard available for enjoyment and the gated deck where she loved to stay and visit with Radar and Smokey, (Jim's) dogs. With so many things to like, it is really hard to pick any one thing for the best; and what we liked least was having to leave. However, we are booking a return trip in September. Thanks Jim for such a great getaway !

“Wonderful cabin with beautiful views!”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2013

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin is very clean and comfortable and is furnished with everything you could possibly need (and more), including a great hot tub, wrap-around deck with amazing views, and a fire pit. It also has beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Jim, the property manager, lives next door, so he is readily available if you have any questions or need anything done during your visit. The cabin is also pet-friendly, and our two dogs had a fun time visiting with us. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Maggie Valley area.

“Refreshing, this week was like putting on a new body and new fra”

Reviewed 14 Jun 2013

Two good friends and two beautiful dogs spent almost a week at this neat cabin. Coming up from the heat of Florida, the cool mountain air was just fantastic. The cabin was well equipped, clean and provided a wonderful place for dogs and humans alike. We could tell they tried to provide for all needs. The views of the clouds on the mountains were ever changing, calming the soul. The location about a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway was convenient to our side trips, providing astounding overlooks along the way. The road up to the cabin was a little scary the first time since we came in at night, but thanks to Jim's great directions, we had no problems. All in all, the cabin was a great experience at a wonderfully inexpensive price. Wish we were there right now rather than in this humid heat.

Response from the owner It is amazing how everything changes when it is dark outside. We highly recommend that guests arrive for their first time during the daylight. Of course if driving up strange roads high in the mountains with only the moon and the stars to light the way sounds exciting then by all means go for it. It may be "scary" for some but it is very safe with no steep drop offs or anything more dangerous than the wildlife.

“Awesome view and a cozy cottage with everthing you would need”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2013

We have rented at the beach many times but not in Maggie Valley. We loved this cozy cottage. It has everthing you would need including spices, sugar, coffee filters etc. No need to bring all the extras. Our dog Juno enjoyed the company of Jim's dogs and our walks right there from our cabin are fabulous. We only wish we could have stayed longer. You actually have a view that overlooks the Blue Ridge Pkwy from the porch and jacuzzi. We will stay here again. Waynesville was a pleasant surprise and so were the awesome restaurants in the area. We went exploring waterfalls and brought our own picnic and it was a fabulous way to spend the day.

“Beautiful Mountain Getaway Cabin!”

Reviewed 27 May 2013

Very nice cabin. Clean, well maintained, every thing in working order including a very nice gas grill which looked closed to brand new. No hidden surprises at this property. I trailered my motorcycle here to do day trips with my wife. The end of the driveway is tight for someone not great at backing a trailer well, like my self, but it was doable as Jim had told me in advance. As for the mile or so of gravel road getting in and out of the property, its well maintained and graded with minimal rutting and washboard. Any street bike, two up and loaded should be able to safely negotiate the road if you've had any experience on gravel roads. Really enjoyed the hot tub at the end of a days riding. Overall a great experience staying here and plan on returning in the future.
