“First in Class”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2015

What a great stay! While it rained the first few days, we enjoyed the covered deck because it was cozy and dry and gave a great view of the ocean and those hardy fisher people on the pier! Emily made booking incredibly easy by giving thorough responses in a timely way. The vacation home is set up to be very comfortable, convenient and easy to use. Kitchen is well equipped. Beds are very comfortable and the recommendations for things to do and restaurants are spot on! I will post my reviews of the restaurants on Trip Advisor too! The location is first rate, the view is one of the best on the beach and the access to get to the beach is very easy so its great for all ages! For anyone traveling with young children the large secure upper deck is perfect. For us with a dog, it was very relaxing and the exact holiday we were looking for!

Response from the owner Thank you for staying with us! We love hosting for our guests and love to make sure we thing of everything when getting in! we look forward to hosting your travels again soon! Emily and Ben Nail

“We will check on this house first when coming back to Oak Island”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2014

We were very pleased with the beach house. The house is located on the second row but had a wonderful view of the ocean due to a small beach parking lot in front and a restaurant at it's side. Traffic in front of the house was a little busy in the evening but well worth the additional activity for the wonderful view of the beach. The front porch was spacious and a wonderful place to see and listen to the ocean also served for all of us just to hang out together and talk. Would be wonderful for anyone with children, pets, or families that haven't had a lot of time together in the normal course of our busy days. The house was nicely decorated and all appliances and equipment were modern. The house had the necessary supplies for the first evening not to have run out to the grocery store as we arrived. Ordered pizza and relaxed from the travel day. Everyone also loved that the house had wi-fi. We had full access to our electronic equipment; phones, pads, computers and reading devices. Beach access was wonderful and not crowded as we have come to love about Oak Island. Water was warm and the shore walkable without a lot of rocks. An added bonus was the pier which was directly across the street; lovely at night and nice to walk. Also when parking under the house one side has direct access to the street in behind the house, a little tight, but backing out on the street not necessary. The owners were very responsive in delivering the information prior to our arrival and also responded immediately when reporting a small problem with a curtain bracket being loose as we arrived. We would definitely recommend the house and will check on it for future trips to the beach.

Response from the owner We are glad you had a great stay and look forward to hosting your travels again! Thank you, The Nails

“Comfortable "Launch Pad" for Oak Island adventures”

Reviewed 28 Mar 2014

Booking our stay was easy and simple. No surprises with the beach house - the house was exactly as we expected it to be and we had everything we needed for the weekend. We did have lots of nice surprises as we explored Oak Island - great biking, fun on the canals, walks on the beach, exploring the fort, Southport, and the island restaurants. Next time I want to go fishing...didn't get to that! I would definitely rent this beach house again when we visit Oak Island.

“Amazing View, Fully Stocked Comfortable House”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2014

I stayed here for 3 nights with my family in Mid-March and had such an amazing experience. The house is on second row but has a parking lot on first row so the view of the ocean is perfect! The entrance to the beach is directly across the street as well so getting to the beach was just as easy as if the house had been on first row! It was so nice to sit on the deck and just listen to the waves in the morning with my coffee and with my glass of wine in the evening. The deck has a gate at the top of the stairs which was great since we had brought our dogs with us as well. The dogs loved being able to stay on the deck during the cooler hours of the day and just people watch without being tied to a rope. The house has everything you could possibly need when going on a vacation. We got in late Friday night and did not want to go to the store to pick up coffee and it was such a blessing that there was enough coffee, sugar and creamer available for us to use for the next morning. The house is even stocked with an iron and iron board that I was able to use when I had packed clothes to eat at the Island Way Fine Dining restaurant right across the street (which is delicious and extremely convenient). The beds are so comfortable and the sheets are not your typical hotel sheets, they were so soft and did not feel stiff and starchy like I had expected. Saturday morning we were trying to decide where to eat and the house has a cute display of local brochures and menus which kept us from having to drive around to find a place open for breakfast. Even though it got colder towards the end of our stay, the large windows in the living room made wave watching very easy and comfortable. The house has such a warm welcoming feeling that it almost felt like it was my own home by the time I left. I have already booked another stay for this coming September and can't wait to continue planning our family vacations at Nail'd It. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable and pleasant!
