“Character if Paris”
My wife and I know Paris well, and this was the first time we have brought our children. We have four boys from 7 - 15. The apartment was a great find for us. By Parisian standards it is good sized and we didn't feel too crowded - although you are not there for long periods. The apartment is charming and was clean and well presented. You feel like you were in Paris. The location is terrific and walking distance to most tourist sites. Several times we we able to leave the children and pop out to a restaurant downstairs - a real treat. We would recommend to others and return ourselves.
Loved everything about this apartment. The owners were helpful and easy to contact, the greeting service was friendly and professional. The apartment was enough space to sleep 2 adults and 5 children comfortably. It even came with a baby bed and stroller that were in great condition. We loved having a washer and dryer in the apartment, and were able to wash all the clothes for all 7 of us every night. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. The apartment is just steps away from a small grocery store, so you can get any little necessities you might need. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and pillows for all of us. We were very, very pleased with the whole experience and if we ever have the pleasure of visiting Paris again, we would stay in this apartment again. We have already recommended it to friends.
“Location, location, location! Great Paris apartment for family/g”
We stayed in this apartment for 7 nights in July/August 2013. We were a group consisting of my wife, 4 children (ages 3-8), mother-in-law and me. This was our first visit to Paris (and, more generally, France). As noted by other reviews, the location of this apartment is fantastic (and cannot be emphasized enough). We found the apartment very well suited for our stay in Paris. The walk is less than a minute from the front door to the Hotel de Ville metro stop. It is likewise close to the Hotel de Ville, which makes orienting yourself and finding your way "home" extremely easy. There are 2 grocery stores even closer than the metro stop. There are also 3 cafes within steps of the front door. As noted by others, we felt very safe in this neighborhood (and did so in nearly all the areas we visited in Paris). Thierry, the owner, was wonderful to work with and our deposit was promptly refunded. We would not hesitate to stay here again on a return trip to Paris. The only items of note are (1) no air conditioning, which I understand is typical of Paris apartments; (2) lots of steps; and (3) somewhat noisy due to traffic on due re Renard. These were perfectly OK by us but maybe something others would want to take note of. Finally, the check-in and check-out procedures are taken care of through a rental service. The procedures are efficient; however, we found the checkout time (8 am) too close to our international flight time (11 am). The checkout agent was a little late (maybe 10-12 minutes late) but this was enough to cause us to nearly miss our flight. We were within mere minutes of not being able to check-in. This made our departure a bit stressful.
“Parisian for a week”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Paris at Le Marais "archives". Organising the rental of the apartment was simple and communicating and dealing with Thierry was a pleasure. The apartment was comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. It was great to be in a wonderful old building with an outlook onto the bustling street below. The location of the apartment was fabulous - being close to many of Paris' major attractions as well as excellent shopping, cafes and restaurants. We walked nearly everywhere! The metro was close by too for our trips to other areas of Paris. We really felt like Parisians for a week!
We stayed in this 2 bedroom apartment for 5 nights in December. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids aged 10,8 and 6. The apartment was located in a great area of the Marais. It is moments to the metro, a short walk to tourist sites such Notre Dame and Hotel de Ville. It is most convenient to small supermarkets and boulangeries. We also felt very safe here. We never felt like we were in a touristy part of town. We needed to use the sofa bed...which turned out to be very easy to set up and quite comfortable. The apartment is not huge...normal for Paris. The kitchen is also small...but more than adequate for us to prepare our simple meals...we were on holiday so never attempted anything too fancy. The apartment is on the 3rd floor which must be accessed by lovely old stairs...not a problem for us...but just be aware if older or difficulty carrying your bags. The heating worked well. We had no problems getting our keys nor getting our deposit back. We would happily stay here again.
“Great Paris apartment for a family”
We recently returned from our family trip to Paris. There are 5 of us and this apartment accommodated us well. The location was outstanding (you could see the towers of Notre Dame from one of the windows.) The neighborhood was safe and it was close to a grocery, many restaurants and the Metro station. It was very clean. The kitchen was great for quick meals and the washer/dryer allowed us to pack light for the trip. Much better than staying in a hotel. We would not hesitate to stay here again. The staff that met us to check us in and out were very prompt and helpful and the owner was very pleasant to work with.
This is a small apartment, but did sleep 6 of us! It is in a great neighborhood with lots of cafes and nightlife. We loved having the Louvre, Notre Dame, and the Seine River all accessible by foot. The metro is right outside the door. The flat was clean, and the rental company was "right on the ball." We would use them again, and even stay here again if the opportunity came up.
We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Thierry' Le Marais Notre Dame apartment. We were a family of 7, 4 adults and 3 little girls, 9, 7 and almost 3 and the apartment was perfect for us. It is very well equipped and although a 3rd floor walk up, even with a stroller, didnt find this a problem. Thierry was very prompt answering any questions we had prior to arrival and check in and out were easy. The location is great and within the street are boulangerie, many restaurants and a hit with our family, an ice cream shop where scoops are made into flowers. Walking distance to many tourist places and all in all a wonderful vacation for us.
“Wonderful location and lots of character”
My husband and I stayed here with our 2 daughters and had a wonderful stay in Paris. Everything went very smoothly - and this was my first time renting an apartment in Europe so I was a little nervous. Monique met us with the key and was a pleasure as she took her time explaining everything to us. The apartment was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The second bedroom was perfect for our 2 daughters. I did read about the stairs so that wasn't a surprise, but they are very old and uneven so be careful if you are wearing shoes that have a heel! The bathroom is very small, but I expected that too. All the appliances worked well - we used the washer dryer several times as well as the dishwasher. We loved the location which made walking to sights much easier. Much more character in this 400 year old building than any hotel could offer! There is one odd design in the kitchen which forces the top microwave cabinet to open every time you open the fridge and then you have to seperately try and close it. We never did understand that as it seems simple to change. (minor thing, but odd, nonetheless) Great stay overall!
