“Wonderful house and location”

Reviewed 31 May 2014

We just stayed at the Tahiti Beach House in late May 2014 and it was absolutely wonderful. The home was large enough for our group of 6. We enjoyed the large wooden deck off the back of the house and had wonderful sunrises and sunsets. The snorkeling off of the yard is absolutely the best -- the water is very shallow for quite a distance and shallow enough to just sit at the edge and enjoy the views. The kayak and outrigger canoe was wonderful to use in the lagoon. Any questions/issues were addressed very quickly and the owners family went above and beyond when one of our party got injured and they took her to the medical facility. We can't thank them enough. Only one bedroom had air conditioning so it can get a little warm but the open air concept of the home allowed for plenty of breeze to go through even at night. Be aware there is a dog but he was so sweet and funny --loved to spend the day in the water with everyone. There is also a cat that comes and goes but also very sweet. We would highly recommend the home --it is just down the street from the Pearl Resort which was nice to go and see a Polynesia dance show and buffet one night.

“Une superbe maison, un lagon...”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2013

Cordialement, Mauruuru Roa...

“A Wonderful Home On The Lagoon”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2013

After several previous trips to French Polynesia with stays in resorts, we decided to try a house rental for three weeks this august 2013. We read loads of reviews and selected the Tahiti Beach House crossing our fingers that it would be close to our expectations. And it was much, much more! First, it is a real home filled with interesting art pieces, books and a fully equipped kitchen. With six of us staying there we all had space to spread out to read, relax, cook, eat together, swim and snorkel. Located directly on the lagoon, there were just a few steps to climb into a kayak or drop into the water. If you venture out you'll see fish, rays and small sharks. The house comes with Tonga, one of the sweetest dogs any of us had ever met. Our host, Tepapa, checked in on us periodically, answering any questions we had. She was very ready to share knowledge of her culture and community and we were so glad to also meet some of her very interesting family. She could give specific recommendations when we asked. One morning she called early to encourage us to get to the local fish market asap. Some fresh tuna had just come in. Later that day she came and prepared it for us: a beautiful platter of sashimi and huge bowl of poisson cru! Organizing food was easy with a small market across the street and another a few minutes by car. The largest supermarket is in Vaiare past the ferry dock. If we didn't want to cook, we'd find the Chicken Man roulotte for a wonderful chicken with rosemary potatoes! We could also cross the street and eat at Le Mahogany for very good lunch or dinner. But the best was to make a meal together, sit on the deck and watch the most exquisite sunsets over the lagoon. Moorea is a particularly beautiful island to enjoy whether you like to be in the water, reading and relaxing or gazing out to the reef. It offers a pace that is so appreciated by many of us. After three weeks it was hard to leave but the images are so vivid they will last!

“Best vacation ever”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2013

This beautiful home was a great place for our family to spend quality time together. We were grateful to the landlord who made a vehicle available to rent whenever we needed it. The home with surrounding deck and yard was large enough to host gatherings with multiple families. We used the kayak and outrigger canoe almost non-stop because everyone enjoyed swimming and snorkeling so much. As an american family, we were not prepared for the french influence of nude art throughout the home, nor the topless sunbathers visible from the home. Also, one of the bathrooms offers very little privacy. The home is entirely open which was great to keep air moving through but not so great during heavy mosquito times. There is a bedroom that can be closed up with air-conditioning but the rest of the family was generally hot and got a fair share of mosquito bites. Overall however, it was a fabulous experience and we hope to go again.

“Vacation of a lifetime!”

We so enjoyed our 10-days in paradise time at the Tahiti Beach House in Moorea! The owner, Tepapa and her family, Nita and Julienne, were outstanding hosts and truly took care of us from the moment we arrived - which included a greeting accompanied by fresh cut bananas, coconut and mango, all from the property! Loved our lesson from Julienne on how to open a coconut as well. Our 'house guests' - Tonga and Peety - were so very friendly. We sure enjoyed their company. We enjoyed exploring the island and many beaches (especially Temae and Mareto) yet quickly realized that the best beach and snorkeling were right outside our back door! And, use of the canoe and kayak made daily visits to the lagoon and coral so very easy. We thank Tepapa for all the numerous restaurant suggestions - our favorites included Carmiline's for breakfast/pastries, Rudy's and Mahogany's for exquisite French cuisine, and must admit, Allo's Pizza was outstanding! Be sure to visit Belevdere Lookout and take the hike to the waterfalls, and we even enjoyed Lagoonarium and Wilford's educational moments and feeding of fish and rays. all were magical. We highly recommend Moorea and Tahiti Beach House and hope to return some day. Thanks you Tepapa! The Haflichs, Mosers and Studers

A beautiful place to spend our Xmas and New Years! This house sits so close to the ocean and we felt like we were in a aquarium. The snorkeling is right outside your door. We took a jet ski tour and swam with the sharks and the rays! This is the way to go if you are thinking about staying on Moorea, having a kitchen to cook our meals worked out great. The home is spacious and open. The owner helped us with all our needs. We had a wonderful time!

“Very relaxing and great location”

This place limits your review so I will keep this short. Great location, everything you need is within walking distance. House is comfy, a little rustic but the location is the selling point. The beach is great, snorkling amazing and at 5:00pm the rays come it and you can walk right out to them. Kayak was great to have and you could paddle out and usually see Dolphins. Also saw whales out by the breakwater. Amazing place. Owner is onsite and very helpful and friendly. Can't think of a better place to spend a week doing nothing. No need to rent a car, you can set up tours at the Pearl. If you want to go to a store further away, they will usually pick you up. Highly recommend Island Fashions, Ron Halls Back Pearls They will pick you up and they have wonderful designs and good prices. Would like to say more but trust me you will love this place and this island.

“Exceeded our expectations!!!”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2012

To sum up this review, Tahiti Beach house is absolutely amazing! It is a beautiful home in the best location with the most gracious host, Tepapa. Our family, 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 7, 9 & 12) stayed for 10 days and not once did any of us have anything negative to say. Everyday we felt so blessed to be in such a wonderful home, felt incredibly safe and comfortable, had everything we needed and were able to walk a few steps into the most beautiful ocean and snorkel. Tepapa is so kind, she brings fresh fruit and offers help in where to go and what to do on the island, not to mention she speaks great English. The home has all the amenities one could need and is very spacious, clean and open with large rooms and bathrooms, plus a gorgeous large yard. My husband and I even got massages by the maid in the back of the property in a separate room off from the house. We rented a car and toured the whole island and with no doubt the Tahiti Beach house is in the best location. There is a market and Pizza restaurant across the street, another market and several shops and restaurants within 1-2 miles. Cooks Bay, Opunohu Bay and Belvedere lookout are within a short drive. This home is incredible on it's own but Tepapa makes it even better. We were sad to leave and miss Tepapa and her home already. We will definitely be going back!
