Nestled in the woods and surrounded in total privacy, Honey Bear Cabin is the perfect vacation rental for couples looking for a romantic getaway or small families looking for a great gathering spot.

This two bedroom, two bath luxury cabin is conveniently located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and is only 10-15 minutes or less from either city and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The benefit of this location is that your far enough from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the peacefulness of the Tennessee mountains.

A few, staggered steps lead to the entrance. Once inside you are in the Great room which as the cozy living area with living rooom and queen sleeper sofa and a comfy, over sized chair and ottoman to relax and enjoy the HDTV and cozy, corner gas fireplace. A wall of windows overlooks the woods. On the other side of the great room is a fully equipped kitchen with full size stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The cabinets are stocked with all the pots and pans you will need to prepare a full meal or light snack. There is even a 6qt. crock pot which is handy for preparing a meal in the morning and coming home after full day of area fun to a home cooked meal with very little fuss.

The main level is where you will find the master bedroom with its king sized bed with a California King sized mattress. For romance it has its very own fireplace and a heart shaped, over sized jacuzzi tub for two. A doorway leads out the covered back porch where there is a very large Jacuzzi brand 6 person hot tub. Soak your cares away as you enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and the nature that is present.

There is private bathroom and washer and dryer for your convenience. Isn't it a great feeling to go home from vacation with no laundry to have to catch up on?

Take the spiral stairway upstairs to the game loft where you will find a full sized pool and foosball table for some friendly competition. There is also a Midway video arcade game system for even more fun. Upstairs is where you will find the loft bedroom with a beautiful queen sized log bed positioned to look out on a wall of windows and into the private woods. The woods are an ever changing landscape, depending on the season and it is nice to sometimes just lay on the bed and look out.

Upstairs you will find another full sized bathroom with a tub/shower combination.

WI FI Internet is available and we offer free long distance calling to anywhere in the US and Canada.

There is charcoal grill for cooking up a great steak, burger or perhaps some fresh rainbow trout you may have caught in the Little Pigeon River just a couple of miles from the cabin.

The roads leading to Honey Bear are paved and easy to access year round. The driveway is level and can accommodate up to three vehicles.

Honey Bear Cabin is pet friendly. Well behaved, well groomed pets are allowed to stay. Pet rules do apply.

Our first family vacation was spent at Honey Bear Cabin- for my 28th birthday. We took three children with us: ages 7, 4 and 1. The space at this small cabin says sleeps 6- it could sleep 8 in my opinion. We had the master bed, big kid on loft and preschooler on pull out couch- so much room! This cabin was nestled on a fun winding mountain- not a bad route for an unexperienced mountain driver from Ohio. You still need auto gusto to get up there and icy roads will be dangerous BUT we stayed second week of January and it was conpletely clear and 50 degrees so this was a non-issue this year. It is about 15-20 minutes out of service, which was appreciated since this was a trip to decompress from a long year- off grid style. However... the off-grid capability is optional since the cabin is equipped with strong signal Wifi that never failed us. I made Facebook calls over the wifi to let loved ones know we arrived safely. The area is perfectly distant from the mumbo jumbo of Pigeon Forge, but still accessible of course if that's a spot you want to visit! The pots and pans are a good mix of Teflon and Stainless. They have a Keurig, coffee maker and crock pot also available for use. We took our elec griddle and elec skillet and mainly used these, but used stainless pots too. This cabin was very easy to manage- everything was pretty self explanatory- code in and them text to clean when you leave. Simple. Highlights: young kids loved the layout- the spiral staircase adds a childlike playful spin with a cabin stay. The jetted, heart-shaped tub was thoroughly enjoyed by our preschooler and toddler many times over the course of our stay. The hot tub was also enjoyed many times- we quickly fell in love with jumping in during the cold mornings of January, when the steam rolls off the top and the birds were up to sing: tranquil. The hot tub and jetted tub were both very clean and ran without issue- the tub fills quicker than you think. We do a lot of chopping to cook and I liked that we had enough counterspace to be chopping a couple things at a time. The electric fireplace was really nice- the dial provides simple blazing fire, protected by glass. The Master bedroom privacy was probably the best highlight- not very often are parents gifted privacy from their kids- the layout of this cabin offered a lot of privacy because the deck is off the Master bedroom. I also loved the ample pillow supply provided. The childproof nature of this cabin is a selling point for this cabin, as it has low drawers in the kitchen with plastic utensils to play with, a narrow entry to and from spiral stairs that discourages falls, and wood floors were great and easy to clean from spills! Very happy with the layout of this cabin, as I said. Things I was disappointed in or that I would suggest: locks on doors, toss out the teflon pans, fix fireplace in Master bedroom- we would have really enjoyed the fireplace in the Master that is like the living area fireplace, if it had been working. Window washing more frequently could be a good idea- they were very dirty on the outside, naturally- not a big deal but noticed on every window is all. There are a lot of old faded, falling apart rugs on the Master deck that could be collected and thrown out soon. My daughter felt there needed to be a dresser on the loft and I would agree- her and her brother stacked their clothing in piles on the floor and stools. This was something I found to be silly- with all the loft space, there could easily be a large dresser added and even a dressing shade...there is just a lot of potential on the loft that is not being used by even more necessary things like a dresser or shelving. Even more, adding a family game cabinet or shelf could be an inexpensive addition to this cabin over time. If the cabin was applicable to 8 people, which I feel it is, this cabin would be so fun for two young families to rent together and enjoy. Overall, our stay was everything we wanted. We avoided Pigeon Forge, as I feel its more targeted at preteens+. We enjoyed walking the Gatlinburg strip one evening and shopping, eating at Mellow Mushroom. We visited the Salt and Pepper Museum, which was our favorite stop! We spent most of our time bonding at the cabin and cozy together this trip. Next trip we anticipate a lot of hiking and caverns near Cades Cove. We want to visit the aquarium next visit and more- TN has a lot to offer in this area and this will now be our annual cabin until the young ones outgrow it. Thanks so much for a nice first stay! Didn't make it to cabin because roads were too icy but the owner was easy to work with in getting a refund. Kept in touch with us the whole time.

The cabin was a great place to stay. It was clean. A few missing light bulbs but that was no problem. The wifi, and cable worked great and we could watch all the football we wanted. Easy to find-my iPhone took me right to it. Close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for good places to eat and grocery stores. The park was right down the mountain. We highly recommend the Smoky Mountain brewery for a place to eat-well above the usual bar food. Had the wings and pizza and it was awesome! There is not much of a place to walk my dog at the cabin but there were plenty of little meadows and areas around that were close. The fishing ponds at the bottom of the mountain by the Sky Harbor mail boxes worked great for a place to exercise my lab. Great trip and will definitely be back.
