“Great Vacation Home”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2014

Flew Into San Juan the night ahead of time. Had a fishing charter the same day as check -in so my wife had to get there ahead of me. Directions were accurate and easy to follow. The drive from San Juan was, for me, easy. Traffic early in the morning wasn't bad. My wife said it was a bit busy getting out of San Juan but we live in a town where the whole county"s population is 100K so our threshold for busy might be different than yours. Driving the last little bit the road narrows and gets really steep. My wife warned me of this otherwise I might have thought I took a wrong turn. The pirate golden retriever mural says you are there. Concentrating on driving I hadn't noticed the view behind me. Normally, when I here the word, "Spectacular" I assume there is some hyperbole involved. But the view here is Spectacular, period, the ocean, the hillsides, the vegetation... The home is landscaped beautifully. The home itself is very attractive in it's architecture and decor. There is an upstairs and a downstairs unit. The upstairs unit is where we stayed. It has one master suite with bathroom and two standard bedrooms, a nice size kitchen a living/dining room and a fabulous balcony. to be honest, we didn't even need the rest of the house except for sleeping and the bath, the large balcony was that nice. We spent practically all of our time at the house on the balcony; it was that nice. There were cool breezes, nice furniture and that view... What else do you need. The furnishings for the inside were nice and tasteful considering it is a vacation rental, I was surprised. I'm a guy... so for me clean enough to sit on is OK and furnishing were way better than that. The pool area consist of a covered patio with high ceilings and ceiling fans, nice patio furniture, gas grill and the pool. The pool is absolutely beautiful. It has waterfalls and a decorative and functional and unique pool deck. My only problem was that I had to take off my glasses and could only partly enjoy the view when playing in the pool. The pool is shared by both the upstairs and the downstairs units but that worked out for us. The other tenant had two well behaved teenagers who had a great time in the pool and then they left it to us while we used it. we spent time visiting with them in the patio by the pool and traded info on tours and sightseeing. If I had a complaint it was that kitchen had a good variety of cookware and utensils but a lot of the pots and pans didn't match so finding the right lid wasn't always easy and I am one who is picky about sharp knives and they had knives but not of the quality I like. Again, I am a picky cook. I imagine with a vacation rental, one might have expensive knives and or cookware grow legs with some renters or this I didn't knock off any stars. Next time I will swing by Costco or Walmart and pick up little things peculiar to my tastes. This was my first experiencing a vacation rental where I had to fly to and that wasn't a Hotel. Would I recommend this house to a friend? Well I am currently trying to organize my fishing buddies and their wives to rent both units and have a group vacation/fishing trip next spring.

“Breathtakingly Beautiful”

Reviewed 27 Feb 2014

I stayed here during Spring Break 2013 for 3 nights and was blown away by how beautiful both the house and the surrounding scenery was. I stayed on the first floor of the house with 3 other people and had more space than we needed. The inside of the house was very well kept and cozy with two bedrooms and a nice living room. Just outside was a beautiful patio with nice murals painted on the walls and a salt water pool that we thoroughly enjoyed. There is a gas grill outside we used more than once as well. This place is a very romantic spot,it is completely safe and very quiet through the day and night due to it's isolation. It is also in very close driving distance to stores and to the ferry dock that can take you to the beautiful Islands of Viequez or Culebra. People were staying on the top floor at the same time we were and they were very friendly and mostly kept to themselves. Sharing the patio area and the pool was not a problem at all :). I highly recommend staying here. The price is a very high value. You will not stay at a nicer hotel especially not for this price. Trust me.

“A good vacation in paradise”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2012

My family and I decided to take a vacation to PR and were very fortunate to stay in Monica's house. We rented the 2nd floor to accommodate a total of 9 people. The kitchen was beautiful, huge, clean and supplied with all sorts of kitchen utensils. The bedrooms were well decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were awesome. The waterfall and night lights added pizazz to the outdoor paradise. The downstairs patio was spectacular and ready for some good grilling. Monica also has plenty of beach-towels, clean sheets, washer and dryer and lots of good movies to watch. Overall pictures don't do justice to this house. Regardless of what room you're in the view is breathtaking.

“Perfect Vacation Home”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2012

The photos shown here could never capture how idyllic and wonderful Monica's house really is. We enjoyed every moment of our stay there: swimming in the pool, relaxing in the hot tub, grilling on the patio, playing with the adorable and sweet kitties, or just staring out at the amazing view. And it's a great location, we took easy day/half-day trips to Fajardo (eat at La Estacion!), the beach and delicious food kiosks at Luquillo Beach, Old San Juan, and El Yunque Nat'l Park. Monica was helpful and friendly, and we really felt like we were in a home, not just a vacation rental. You can barely see any other houses around the property, and we heard a car go by maybe once a day. It really is hidden paradise. I would recommend this property to anyone heading to Puerto Rico.

“What a view!!!”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2011

This location was one of the best vacation homes we have ever stayed! The view was one of the most panoramic, spectacular views Ive seen. We could not stay off the patio. The acreage around the home gives you a sense of privacy and openness, but still close to everything. We were close to freeway access, the marina, shopping and food. We enjoyed the waterfall pool and jacuzzi very much! I highly recommend this location. You can have a fabulous time without even leaving. Everything is there! Hope to return someday!

“Wow! Amazing home and view!”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2011

Monica. We loved your rental!!! We stayed on the first floor unit. Such a beautiful place and view the pictures don't do it justice! The highlight for us was all your sweet cats and dogs. Thanks so much for helping us with all our questions along the way too, we hope to send you some business from friends and some return trips ourselves! Your home is amazing and we had the best time ever. To future renters...when you can tear yourself away from home...be sure to check out El Yunkie National Forest (20 minute drive), take a night Bio Bay tour (25 minute drive),and visit Old San Juan (1 and 15 minute drive).

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind review. We are fullfilled when people rave about our home. This home was built with the intention of being our home, until work took us to SJ. We put a lot of love and care into making it the perfect home. This is truely a rental home completely cared for by owners. We'll see you there. Monica

“Beautiful view!”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2011

The house and location was great! We stayed in the downstairs unit which was more than enough room for us two. Had modern decor and air conditioning. Very open to the outdoors and patio. The pool and hot tub was also very nice. Monica was also very helpful and always available when needed. The location was nice if you like to do alot of activities on the east side of the island but out of San Juan.

“30th birthday celebration”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2011

We spent five days at this home for my 30th birthday. It was the perfect place for the occasion. We rented the upstairs and downstairs. The home slept 11 people very comfortably. The views from the home were incredible. We had a blast in the pool. My husband, a chef, really enjoyed cooking in the upstairs kitchen
