PLEASE BE AWARE THE VILLA EASILY SLEEPS 10 ADULTS BUT THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF $25 DOLLARS PER PERSON PER DAY FOR MORE THAN 5 GUESTS. ON A PER PERSON BASIS THIS IS STILL AN EXTREMELY GOOD PRICE FOR A LARGE PRIVATE HOME ON THE BEACH.

Casa Que Canta "The House that Sings" consists of two complete two bedroom homes connected together by a central courtyard and garden on the ground level and a large balcony area on the second level. Plus we have a small pool on the roof with shaded terrace. For those that don't like to cook we can provide all inclusive packages with meals prepared on site by Sandra - our Velador. Sandra is a great cook and our guests love her food. The villa is a private home located 5 miles north of Mahahual - considered the number one cruise ship destination in Mexico.

The beaches are powder white sand protected by a coral reef just 250 yards off shore. Ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and sun bathing. Area is know for world class diving. Reef in front of the property has a large number of beautiful corral heads. Snorkeling and dive trips also available in nearby Mahahual. Many restaurants and shops are available with more every day. Diving and snorkeliing tours can be easily be arranged in town - we can suggest our favorite dive shops.

The villa itself is fully self contained with solar electric, gas stove and hot water. We recently connected to the electric grid and can now offer air conditioning in the bedrooms is you so desire. Drinking water is bottled and supplied with the unit. Both units include daily maid service and linens. . The interior is native stone flooring of Tikul and Conchuela with counter tops of Emerald Green Honduran Verde Tikal. Court yard has a garden and fountain and small bird aviary.

Design was done by Ricardo Romay - a well know and respected Mexican Architect - his work has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Doors and windows are all native hardwoods - handcrafted of Granadilla, Cedro Roja, and Xalam. Perfect place for couples, families, and any one wanting a quiet tropical get away.

Response from the owner I’m sorry your stay was a disappointment. I understand the Sargasso seaweed was quite bad during your visit. The seaweed problem is beyond our control and has been particularly bad this year throughout the Caribbean. It has affected parts of the U.S. and all of eastern Mexico at times. Like weather the Sargasso is an act of nature that occurs at random times.

Response from the owner For five years we have received nothing but excellent reviews from guests. During their stay none of the above was brought up by anyone - in point of fact when I asked how things were going those I spoke to said that other than a lot of rain they were very happy. The water heaters did go bad, however, we replaced both with new ones immediately the following day. We had almost constant storms that week with very large waves which of course brings in trash to any beach. We cleaned it constantly and when the storms let up the beaches were fine. I not only own but manage the villa and given the water heater problem and many questions from many in the group about things to do and where to eat I made my self available. I was often invited in to chat or offered a beer from members of the group. All the above complaints were made "after" they left giving me no chance to address them and were accompanied by a demand for a 50% refund of the rental. I provided a 16% refund due to the water heater problem and as a good faith effort to address the concerns that were all made by one member of the group that did not seem to represent the feelings of all that stayed. Look at my other reviews from multiple families over the years. If you rent long enough it is not possible to please everyone. It is interesting the review makes no mention of my providing a large refund based on complaints made after their departure.

If Joseph (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
