This home was absolutely perfect for a summer get-away!! The kitchen was ideal for doing some cooking with the family and then the beautiful water view from the dining/living area was so inviting to just sit and relax after meals. The decks were great if you wanted to stay out of the sun. It was great we could take our dogs with us and did they love the view. The neighbors were nice on both sides of the house. The only thing I would change would be to TRIM the limbs back from the porch so you would have a better view from inside the house. It appeared to be a small leak under the kitchen sink that we noticed and the garbage can in cabinet would not stay closed, we left a note for the cleaning people so you would know. We would love to stay here again in the future. Thank You so much for providing such a beautiful place for a retreat.
“Quiet and clean in a cul de sac, away from traffic, but close to the beach”
The house had plenty of space for three adults to spread out. The kitchen had everything ,including a blender(ha,ha)!! The deck on the back was great to sit for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails, while watching boats passby. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean with plenty of linens and such. The restaurant that's a five minute walk from the front door was good with a nice view of the bay and sunset. I'd rent this place again!
“Relaxing beautiful getaway.”
This home was clean, beautiful and well stocked with all you need. The owners we easy to work with and understanding. I would definetely recomend this private beach retreat to anyone. Its locally accessible to many attractions. I personally would avoid the Oyster bar,We were terribly disappointed as were the other patrons around us.
“TERRIBLE! avoid this house and the manager #SHAME ON THEM”
I spoke with Val,the property manager, on the phone when my wife first tried to report the problems we were having with the appliances.( after first moving in) She found him to be very condescending. That next day, I sent him the serial # on the water filter for the refrigerator ,since he felt that might stop the dirty water problem. I never heard back from him.Later he said he never got it, He did admit he dropped the ball and did not try to call us,he was too busy.We did not attempt to use it for drinking water after that.We later found the ice maker tray was duct taped together!!! We told Val, the property manager we were going to be using the kitchen to cook in over the Holidays. We were very disappointed with the condition of all of the appliances. The dish washer did not work . When the water (which was turned off) was turned on it flooded water on to the kitchen floor. After the clean up we turned the water off and left it off.The cabinet front with the door is loose and ready to come off. a good yank on the door might do it. Under the kitchen sink, there was a catch pan to catch the dripping dirty water from the sink drain. We emptied it twice while we there. The drain pipe under the guest bathroom sink also leaked and my wifes dad from Lousiana replaced it with one he bought from the Hardware store. The Oven had not been cleaned and had recent drippings in it. It smoked the kitchen when we tried to turn it on. The temperature sight glass is so old the temp could not be viewed. Val said it came on at 350 degrees. We bought an oven thermometer and tried to get it back to 350 to cook a $200.00 5-rib Roast for New Years day.Could not get it to 325 so I adjusted the cooking time back and forth. What a pain.Val told me the owners were aware of the problem and they were going to replace the stove and counter top when we moved out. Shame on them. They knew about this before they rented to us. I discovered the toaster had to be unplugged to keep from burning toast. Med setting on the numbers will give you burnt toast. The Microwave does not work. I got it to heat one time on the "dinner plate" position.Nothing after that. Val's wife Renee said we should have told them. They would have a new one delivered.Right( remember the Refrigerator filter?) The cleaning service needs to have a walk through inspection when they finish. I do it here at my Hotels. The mess in the Oven, we lightly scraped out. The fire place was full of ashes. The damper actuating arm is broken and the damper does not open far enough with out it or it will smoke, and it did. (Fire Hazard?) I don't think I should be the one to give the property manager a list ,as they requested, of the list of things in disrepair. Since Val asked, I told him about a couple of things he should do.Fix that pantry bifold door that needs a new pin and roller at the top. It flops out into the kitchen when you try to open or close it. Replace the back screen door that is bent and has a hole in the middle of it. No back porch lights, probably just bulbs.Put an o-ring kit in the master shower hot water handle. It takes someone stronger than my Wife to turn it off completely. I live in the area now and lived near by on Perdido Key for 20 years. I was going to reach out to Liz since she is the owner and go over this whole experience. I don't expect our experience is an anomaly, according to the neighbors. If I were the owner I would fire these "managers".PS don't ask for a reasonable refund. They will quote you the clause in the contract. SHAME ON THEM.
“Excellent Old Florida Experience”
Great location on the Intercoastal Canal. It has a nice beach on the canal and an outstanding large deck. Great fun watching the various water craft pass by,The main room is huge and very comfortable. The house has a lot of character and charm and is very comfortable. You could actually cook in the kitchen. Where else can you find an in-counter Ronson food processing system? Very dog-friendly, as well. The location is far enough off the beaten path to feel like a vacation, but there is an outstanding restaurant within walking distance. Comfortable, unique, and relaxed. Highly recommended for those of us that like a slower-paced vacation.
“Beautiful, efficient home”
My family, friends and I stayed at this home and we had a wonderful experience. The house was in great condition, and even the babies felt comfortable enough to sleep like logs. It had everything we needed. We have rented several houses in the last 6 years and this was the best one yet. It is kinda secluded (you cant reach out your window and touch the neighbors house, lol) and fully furnished, and the landlords were not up in your business 24/7, we could actually relax. It felt like a home away from home. Hope to return again soon.
