“Great Villa Great Location”

Reviewed 6 May 2014

We stayed in both villas for 10 days in early april 2014. The villas were great. Very comfortable, clean and felt like our home away from home. The pools are sensational and a welcome relief from the Bali weather. The location of the villas is great. Bintang shop not far and Eat Street (JL Oberoi) is a short taxi drive and as with Bali the shopping is great everywhere. The restaurants within walking distance are great. The staff are helpful without being intrusive and we had a great time. If you are looking for a luxury stay and expecting to be waited on then this probably isn't for you. But if you are looking to enjoy the real Bali in a safe and comfortable environment without spending a fortune then I would definitely recommend these villas. Thanks for a great Bali getaway.

Response from the owner Hi So glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your great review . Maybe we will see your friend in the near future. Thanking you Sandy Treefrog Villa's

“Mould infested hovel”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2013

this is the worst villa I have ever stayed at in Bali. Bed sheets were changed 1 time in 10 days. we moved out because my wife got sick though Mould though out the bedrooms and kitchen.. the owner is in denial about any of this.. Do not stay here.. unless you want to get sick

Response from the owner The villa was only built in 2011 it is impossible for a villa of this age to be mould ridden which it is not. The entire living area has high vaulted timber ceilings is open with breezes and looks out over the tropical garden with. pool The bedrooms also have high vaulted timber ceilings which allow airflow throughout again there is no mould anywhere This guest stayed in our villa for 12 days with 3 more nights to go he decided to leave I had not heard from him in his first 12 days with any complaints. You would think if such a problem existed he would have me immediately to have it rectified not wait 12 days . My Manager and myself are always available for any issues that arise from the guests ,neither of us heard from him. When I Received the first email he had already left the villa and had emailed to tell me he had left so I went directly over to inspect the villa could not find anything wrong so I emailed him to meet me at the villa .He responded that he was not going to waste his time That afternoon I had a staff meeting to discuss the issue re maid service the staff assured me that they tried to go in for daily room service and were told to go way that the guest did not want to be bothered .I am confident that my staff did all to make there holiday a happy stay I emailed him again offered opportunity to meet with my self and manager at the villa and he choose not to accept this offer So without direct input from the guest I am at a total loss as to what his real problems were

“Great staff, mediocre villa, unsavory neighborhood”

Reviewed 11 Feb 2013

I stayed at Tree Frog for 11 days in Feb of 2013 with my wife and 7 month old baby. The staff (Putu - manager/driver and Widi - cleaning lady) made the trip. They perfectly handled every request we had (massages, babysitting, etc.). Our stay would have been a lot less enjoyable if they were not there. The villa itself is a bit run down. While the outdoor space is attractive, it is pretty much unusable due to the lack of ceiling fans, mosquitos and uncomfortable/low-quality furniture. Most of our time at the villa was spent in the air conditioned bedroom. The villa is located on the east side of Seminyak, very close to Legian. Unfortunately, Kuta's unattractiveness has made its way to the villa's neighborhood. The nearest high street is full of tourist shops/restaurants. You will need to drive (or get a taxi) to get to any decent shops or restaurants (or a decent beach). Additionally, it seems that a number of 'spas' catering to sexual tourists have sprung up nearby. If that is not your thing, you probably want to avoid the area after dark. I should mention that I specifically asked the owner (Sandy) prior to booking about the surrounding area. I explained that I had last been to Bali ten years prior and was concerned that Seminyak might have become too touristy. She assured me that the area was fine, nothing like Kuta or Legian. After almost a week of keeping an open mind, we decided that the area was not how she described in our previous email exchanges. After we had stayed at the villa for a week, I contacted the owner, explaining that we felt that she had misrepresented the surrounding area and that we would like to move to another villa (and get a refund for the last few days of our reservation). She became very upset/emotional and accused me of calling her a liar and threatening her (none of which was the case). Needless to say, this made the last few days of our trip less than enjoyable.

Response from the owner I am somewhat taken aback at this response re my villa Up until the last 3 nights of Joes stay my staff reported that the guests were having a great time . Surfing, dining, having massages swimming etc He contacted me as he said and did use a treat "If I did not refund the last 3 nights his only leverage was to review the property Poorly "as he has done. Seminyak is a great holiday destination with a beautiful beach with great cafes along the boardwalk and the best Restaurants in Bali so anyone reading this review should not be put off visiting the area as thousand of tourists come here regularly and keep returning . I asked Joe had he been in Kuta on his stay and he hadn't so I feel he has judged Seminyak a bit too harshly . I am sorry that he did not enjoy the area but know many others do, as far as the remark re the condition of my villa I certainly do not agree with this . i had it freshly painted through out the day before his arrival and my furniture is true Bali style bamboo with big thick cushions. My staff maintain the villa on a daily basis so it is always in good condition. The pool is always sparkling and garden very well kept.
