“Wonderful family vacation spot”
This was my family's third visit to North Captiva and second time staying in the home. We couldn't ask for a better family vacation. NCAP forces you to truly relax. Our basic routine involved making breakfast, going to the beach, pool time at the house, more pool time at the club, back to the beach for sunset, games and night with the family, sleep and REPEAT. Pure bliss for anyone who needs to slow down, relax and reconnect. And the La Brisa house is ideal for our family of 7 adults and 2 kids. Plenty of space to spread out. Living room and dining room seating for everyone. The media room was great for the youngest in our crew and meant we didn't have to listen to Nickelodeon 24/7. And close proximity to the club amenities is super convenient. We've researched every rental on the island and have yet to find a better set- up. The new owner improved the beds in two of the upstairs rooms. One room no longer a trundle but two twins instead. And the other changed from 2 twins to a queen. Plus, more kitchen items were added, including pots and pans and even a huge margaritaville blender. Sweet! We love this spot and will definitely be back!

The house is terrific. The enclosed pool very important with the various wild life around. The. Island is beautiful but very remote and not many amenities you must bring everything you need the store leaves must to be desired.
Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to respond. We are glad you had a wonderful time and enjoyed La Brisa. Good tip to future visitors about brining groceries with you. We hope to see you again soon! Thank you, The North Captiva Island Club Team
“Magical and convenient stay in North Captiva”
My family and I loved our stay at Jingle (now called La Brisa). Since we were getting married on the island, it was a super convenient location, right next to the club where the reception was. It was also a short walk to the beach. No need to even take our golf carts! We also enjoyed the warm, well maintained pool on the property. Although it was close to everything, the yard felt very secluded and private due to the tree coverage. We had up to 10 people staying in the house and there was plenty of space.
Response from the manager Hi Nicole, Thank you for taking the time to review! Congrats again, we are so glad you loved your stay!! Hope to see you again soon! Thank you, The North Captiva Island Club Team
“The best kept secret ever!”
On the website it looked perfect for our big family reunion (11 of us in total). All too often what looks good turns out disappointing but not in this case. The ferry service was excellent, the home elegant, well equipped and welcoming and the beach was just perfect. The kids loved the free and easy lifestyle, the golf carts, the kayaks, the pools and the chance to sail around the islands on a hire boat. We saw lots of dolphins and manatees and a huge variety of birds. Some of us came from England and some from the USa and we had the best time ever. It's a great place to relax and de-stress so whilst the shop and cafe could be improved - who cares - be happy!
Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to review! We are so glad you and your family had a great reunion! North Captiva really is a perfect place to relax, de-stress, and enjoy the ones you are with! Thank you for traveling from so far away to spend your reunion with us! Hope to see you again soon! Thank you, The North Captiva Island Club Team
“Another week in paradise”
Just spent a week at the jingle house with extended family and had an amazing time. The house is large, well designed, and conveniently located across the street from the club. My only suggestions would be large pans in the kitchen and perhaps better bed arrangements to accommodate large families. Pretty minor blemishes on an amazing stay!!
We had an unbelievable time celebrating my birthday with friends on North Captiva. Bryan and his staff coordinated everything, accommodated my friends and family's particular transportation needs and put us in homes (Jingle and Party) that were large, comfortable, clean and perfect for our large group. From the check in center, North Captiva Island Club took care of everything, delivering people and their luggage to our rental house. Well coordinated, and lots of fun. The island is the perfect get away if you are ready to not see the same things you see everywhere else you vacation: No McDonalds, no CVS, nothing but what you need, a great store with the necessities and great breakfasts, a reservation only restaurant. The Gulf is good for the soul. Plenty of golf carts for the entire group, convenient beach access, great food, everyone loved the Tiki Bar / Pool
“The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Summarizes Things.”
Our family has been to N. Captiva a total of four times in the last 16 years. Each time we have come, we have stayed at a different property for a number of reasons. This time, we stayed at Jingle, #166. The Good: very convenient. Very spacious. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms which is perfect for a larger family to be shared. Relatively new. The island itself is a wonderful place and provides relaxation for all. The screened in pool was convenient as well. The Bad: The smell located outside the house as you drive in to the back is overwhelming at times and is not just sulfur-like-egg odor--it's potent. What resembles a hoarder's collection of stuff outside in the area where the garbage cans are held, as well as in sections that border on the side of the house. We avoided breathing when venturing over in that area. The house itself 'feels' used. Similar to hotels close to airports with much traffic, Jingle takes on the same sensation. The appliances were 5 years going on 25. The sink, faucet, and insinkerator behaved like that of a dilapidated foreclosure than a home valued in the seven figures. The cookware, kitchen untensil situation was very poor. Knowing that each renter will be cooking their own food for a week should move each homeowner to have a well-stocked kitchen of basic, realiable, kitchen-ware (Target brand is just fine, thank you.) The Ugly: Expectations are reasonable for anyone when paying for a service and likewise for those renting. Our family treated the home like our own and took great care to respect the property of others being grateful for hte stay. Since we had stayed on the island before, we were familiar with bugs of all kinds and that was not an issue. However, when we heard scratching sounds above the kitchen vent, we felt it was simply air. However, as the enclosed pictures will show, cockroaches eventually revealed themselves once the lights went out on both levels. If we return, it will not be to Jingle.
From the minute we arrived we knew we were going to have a great time. Everyone was very friendly and helpfull when we had questions. The house was beautiful and big enough for the 4 families. Everything was clean and something we loved was that we were very close the club and to the beach we could walk to either. Only thing you need to make sure you pack enough groceries because the store they have there, is very small and doesn't have much, plus it's kinda expensive. Other than that we had an awesome time from the dolphins to sunset, kayaks and the beach. We didn't want to leave the island. It's a very relaxing place. Can't wait to go back. :-)
The house was wonderful and met all of the needs of the family, however it was not clean. The disposal smelled horribly when we got there. After running the disposal and the dishwasher the smell seemed to go away. The dishes in the cabinet were also dirty. We had to clean everything before we used it.
“Most relaxing family vacation ever!”
We just returned from our first trip to North Captiva. The island itself is perfect if you are looking for a low-key relaxing time. There is not much to do on the island, so do not go expecting excitement. The house itself we great and perfect for a large family. The screened porch is a must to keep the horrible moquitos away.(insects were definitely the worst part of our trip) We enjoyed the club house pool/bar, and driving around looking at the manatees and other island creatures. We only saw a few people on the beach each day we went, it was great! We also loved fishing. Take all groceries you need, the grocery store is very small and costly. (case of water was $22) This was an overall good trip, if you are a "beach" person and looking to lay around and relax. We will definitely return in a few years.
