“Serene cabin near running creek”

Reviewed 7 May 2010

Dear Stan, We had a wonderful stay last month in the logwood cabin, that dates back to the Civil War. It was a very unique cabin with a homely, quaint feel. There was a lovely little fireplace and the cabin felt very lived in. The bed was very soft and if you left the window open at night you could hear the running creek. The location is near a beautiful creek that runs through the woods close to the national park. We will definitely come back if we ever go down that way again. Thanks, Shannon and Jonathan

“Beautiful!”

This was our first visit to Cabin Creekwood and we were all very excited the moment we saw the cabin. It was everything we expected from an authentic Civil War cabin-from the small, beautifully carved wooden door, the low beams, and tiny window in the kitchen. The location was perfect. Our two children and two dogs LOVED the creek outside! We spent many hours letting them run around and play in the water. It also was a huge benefit that we were only about 20 minutes away from a grocery store because we did forget a few things. We also spent a day hiking near Milepost 20. Our goal was to look for the White Rock Falls trail but could not find it (after talking with Deb, we realized we went the wrong direction). But we did find another beautiful spot that the kids enjoyed playing in-even though the water was freezing cold! We will make sure to come back just to find the trail, though. We really enjoyed our stay. We were able to enjoy each other without being bothered by the business of life. We loved it so much that as soon as we got home, we got all the brothers and sisters to pitch in and buy a two night stay for our Mom and Dad. They recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary! They plan to go to Logwood sometime in the Fall (Mom loves the leaves changing color and knows it will be beautiful during that time). Once again, thank you very much for sharing this beautiful cabin with everyone. We can't wait to be back! God Bless, The Stuffels Matt, Elena, Levana & Matthew II ...oh, and of cours Jessie and Samson (our puppies)

“Back in the day ...”

We truly enjoyed our stay at Logwood Cabin in Va. It was fun to imagine what life was like before TV, phones and the Internet. The location was perfect (not too far from town, but far enough to not have to hear traffic all night). The sounds of the creek lulling you to sleep was perfect after a long day of driving. Checking in was a breeze & finding the cabin was no problem at all. I appreciate all that was stocked & ready for our use. If we ever travel that way again, we will certainly stay at Logwood Cabin!

“If you want peace and quiet and total relaxation, this is the pl”

Making reservations and checking in is a very pleasant and personal experience at Cabin Creekwood. You almost feel like family by the time you are ready to leave. The cabin itself is awesome; not musty or damp like you might think a "Civil War" cabin would be. Everything is there for you right down to the candles for your bath in the claw-foot tub. Just minutes from any of the best restaurants you might want to visit, theres nothing inconvenient about the location. We love the rushing creek behind the cabin and the porch swing. We were truly relaxed and refreshed!
