“Peaceful place in the heart of Victoria”
My husband and I loved our week at this restful place in Victoria! We have stayed in the James Bay area numerous times over the last 30 years and LOVED the oasis that this rental provided. The backyard patio was perfect to retire to after a day of walking and seeing the sights. We were within easy walking distance to all of our favorite places - the beach, Beacon Hill Park, fisherman's wharf, the waterfront, bookstores, pubs... so much, so close! The buskers festival was on while we were there and it was a riot to watch them work the crowds! Summer in Victoria is full of activity and having this well appointed and comfortable place so close but seemingly removed from the crowds and noise was great. Thank-you Delia and Jack!
“It was a delight to stay here.”
Have you ever arrived at your destination and worried whether you made the right decision re accommodation? Well, don't even give it a second thought with this place, tucked away in a quiet upscale residential corner of the city. You will open the front door and wish you had booked for twice as long and when you leave, you will already be planning when you can return. The owners,Delia and Jack, both lovely people, have created a beautiful space in terms of luxury and comfort. They go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay. During our 8 day visit, we enjoyed all the conveniences of the place. Beautiful Beacon Hill Park is a block away. Cook Village with all its cafes and restaurants is a ten minute walk, Dallas Rd. and walks along the water is a 5 minute stroll. The list goes on.Another nice feature is the beautiful patio area complete with top notch outdoor furniture and a BBQ for your use.Indoors, everything is as described on the website but it will still impress you.I can't think of a thing we missed or wanted. Everything from beds to sofas and chairs were very comfortable and the kitchen is a dream. Just go and enjoy.
“Excellent deal and great location”
After having stayed at numerous vacation house rentals over the years, this is by far one of my favorites places to stay. The inside of the duplex looks brand new with newly accented furnishings, large LCD TV (cable), appliances, fireplace, and decent free high bandwidth wi-fi speed. The steam bath in the master bathroom is a nice touch after a long day of activities with the kids. There is a small organic food store one block away where we bought some local products. It's a very quaint farmer's co-op place. One block across the house is a popular grill eatery where the locals eat. The fisherman's wharf and Empress hotel are within 15 minutes of leisurely walks. The owner, Josie, is always available for questions, which we found to be extremely important prior to our arrival and during our stay. She's done an amazing job with putting the rental unit together. Kudos to her!
“Location and luxury!”
The house is new, modern, clean and has all the luxuries and conveniences of home and more. Lots of room with 2 bedrooms and 3 restrooms and a full amazing kitchen with a walkout patio and bbq. The location is prime. Walk to downtown to harbour, walk to Beacon Hill park, and walk to the ocean for scenic views. The neighbourhood is clean with character and beautiful gardens. There's a grocery store, liquor store, and any other retail for necessities within walking distance. We will definitely stay again!
We stayed six weeks and would happily have stayed for years. The suite itself is bright, airy and flawlessly decorated and appointed. Leave your car behind and walk to downtown or Dallas road in minutes. Wine and an excellent supermarket are likewise just a stroll away. Do not hesitate to make this your base to enjoy Victoria.
“Home away from home--only better.”
From the first communication with Josie, we felt welcome. It's a beautiful place, well-appointed, quiet with a spacious feeling. The owner has great taste. It had everything we needed. The location is close to downtown and minutes walk to the ocean. There is also a very peaceful backyard at our disposal. We had my mother visiting for her birthday and Josie had gone to the trouble of buying flowers to welcome her. A lovely touch. I'd go back in a shot. I liked the convenient location and the feeling of "ahhh". There was nothing I didn't like!
It was fabulous! The facilities were more than we expected. There was every comfort of home here. We were very close to all amenities. The area was accessible for all walking and touring excursions. The local neighbourhood was quiet and friendly. What a terrific holiday!!!
