A really nice, clean cottage which is out in the country but close to many villages and towns. The welcome pack we received was tailored to us and included something for the teenagers-a very nice touch. The two bedrooms are a good size with plenty of cupboard space. The kitchen is small but perfectly functional. They have just upgraded the TV and there are a few games in a cupboard if you would rather not watch telly. One point to note is that they don't have internet access-it may be an issue for some, but not for us. The back garden is just grass but it is large and you can sit out on the patio and watch the huge array of birds fly in and out of the neighbours gardens - woodpeckers etc. You would really need a car to stay there but there are lovely walks right on the doorstep. The neighbours - the owners parents - are very friendly and can recommend places to visit. There is a pub at the bottom of the lane which, when open, serves a decent pint of real ale. We had planned to eat there several times but each time we went, it was closed - so don't rely on this. You are within easy reach of many places - highlights for us included Lancaster, Morecambe, Windermere, Kirkby Lonsdale, Hawes, White Scar Caves, and Dent. We plan to return
“a nice peaceful holiday in a lovely cottage”
very clean and comfortable.very pleased with accommodation
“Great cottage, lovely location”
We travelled with another couple for a relaxing weekend away from work. The photos of this cottage really don't do it justice - it really is lovely and really well equipped. The garden is huge, perfect for a nice glass of wine early evening! The pub down the road is okay but there are better a short drive away. Lovely welcome from the lady next door and all in all, couldn't have been better. Loved it!
“Fantastic accomodation, enforced relaxation...Thank you”
Would love to visit again, stay far too short. Lots to see and do, but fantastic winter break. Adored the log burner and cosy feel to the cottage
Our cottage was comfortable and had all the necessities provided. Wood stove with supplied wood was a comfort during a spell of bad weather. Garden was perfect with a large lawn ideal for children without the risk of their causing damage to valued plants and thewild life attracted to the owners bird feeders was great. We were very well cared for by relatives of the owners. Abit off the beaten track. We regarded this as a plus point.
“Perfect stay in the Dales”
Cottage and owners were excellent. Absolutely no problems at all and we would highly reccomend this holiday let.
“Wonderful cosy cottage”
Beautiful cottage in quiet location. Very clean and well maintained. Ideal for family. Good location for trips to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Useful to have a barbecue and garden facility. Would definitely book again.
“Get away from it all”
We enjoyed our stay, the cottage was very clean and well equipped the beds were very comfortable and it was a real treat to have a woodburning stove. The location is quite isolated but within easy reach of the bigger towns and villages The owners who live next door are very friendly and accomadating, while remaining unitrusive. We enjoyed our stay even though we didn't have particularly good weather. My only critisism is that the TV could have been bigger as when the weather is not that good, or if people want to stay in of an evening it would have been more enjoyable to have a full sized TV instead of a portable, (although it was 2 years ago since we stayed at the cottage and the TV may well have been updated since) pubs are nearby for good food, would recomend the cottage for a get away from it all break.
We stayed here for our familymoon (honeymoon with the kids!) and could not have chosen a better place to relive our Lake District first experience. A warm fire greeted us and we were welcomed by a truly cosy, but quality cottage. Immaculate throughout, with a liberal amount of Laura Ashley furnishing, my wife was in her element. Beautiful location, fantastic views and unlimited logs for the fire - perfect. Located close to Kirkby Lonsdale and with easy access to South Lakes, the cottage was easy to find and easier to love. I would recommend this cottage to anyone, any couple or any family. We fully expect to return to this cottage for more escapism.
