Met on arrival and everything was explained that we needed to know for our comfort. Very clean and in a lovely quiet location for pleasant walks for us and the dog.

“A peaceful haven”

The owners were on site and couldn't have been more obliging. The cottage was very clean, attractive and warm, ideally situated for all kinds of places to visit. Would definitely recommend it.

“home from home”

We stayed here over New Year and really enjoyed our stay. There were plenty of walks to go on and it wasn't far from the beach at all! the Staff were very informative and friendly and if you dont want to take your car,the bus stop is right outside. Our only gripe was the shower :-( it wasnt very powerful and if you were using the washing machine or sink water, then the flow and temperature of the shower was affected. Other than that we would happily stay there again :-) Thank you for a warm and welcoming stay!

“Best holiday accomodation ever.”

Beautiful, comfortable accomodation that is better than any hotel.Great for visiting the area with the Cleveland Way just 5 mins away. Beaches, towns and moors all accessible. If you dont have a car this is ideal as public transport is readily available ( the bus stops outside).Walking, lazing and touring all in a cottage that is more home than home. The owners provide eveything you need not just the basics. Nice to have a proper freezer and all cleaning materials, not just those previous occupants have left.Would go back in an instant.

“First class”

The cottage was clean and the owners great nothing was too much trouble. A bus stop out side the cottage came evry 15mins. Good beach, local shop was great and helpfull. The local fish and chip shop was the best ever. I would recomend this venue to any one. I think a club house was talked about this would be great.

“Quiet, good quality accommodation”

Set in a small village with very friendly locals this cottage had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Although there was a pub within walking distance, it only did food on Sundays. There was nowhere within walking distance to eat out so take provisions for your first night! The welcome bottle of wine and chocolates was an unexpected surprise and very kind. Excellent spot for hikers.

“Not as bad as its painted!”

Don't be put off Skinningrove by the 'Britains Hardest Villages' hype. Despite the menacing graffiti on the jetty we had a good time and the people who own the cottage were very helpful. The cottage was generously laid out for a couple and well equipped, especially in the kitchen. where a lot fall down. Great base for the North York Moors, the coast and the RSPB reserve at Saltholme in Middlesborough. Would definitely visit again.

We really booked this as late as could be,and the help and service we got was very good when booking .Directions etc were ok ,found it and were really surprised at how well we were greeted and looked after ,it was excellent ,the place was very very good and was just the quiet place we were looking for , many thanks to the owners for making us very welcome. If you go down to the bottom of the village walk left along the path to the beach you will get an excellent large lovely empty beach,to us that is all we wanted, not far from the beach at Saltburn by the sea, with its pier and clifftop setting. Lovely large shopping in middlesbourough etc
