This is a really great cottage with a fantastic kitchen, very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The neighbours were friendly and helpful and it is ideally situated for the Three Peaks and getting around the Dales. The courtyard garden is a real sun trap in the afternoon/evening. There are two pubs in easy walking distance, and lovely walks right from the door. The only downside I can see would be parking outside the cottage at the height of the season, but we were there on the Challenge weekend and had no problems. Easily the best cottage we have ever been to.

“Fantastic value”

I booked the cottage becaus myself and 3 others had decided to do th Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge, so the location of the house was perfect. The owner of the cottage could not have been more helpful when I phoned her prior to my stay - she gave me a weather report and told me what to expect on the walk! Inside the house was even better than I was expecting - the kitchen is huge and had everything we needed and more. The cosy living room, fully stocked with all sorts of Dvds and books was perfect for relaxing in after our very long walk! I really felt at home in this lovely cottage and I hope to stay there again some time.

“Wonderful weekend”

We had a great stay here, beautiful house, lots of space, loved the open fires and great views. We hope to return.

“Exceptionally well set out property in a fantastic setting”

Excellent, large well equiped property, had everything needed for a fantastic holiday in the Dales. Owners, although never met them, left well written instructions and a lovely cake to welcome us. Log burner in the kitchen and open fire in the lounge gave the property that extra special feeling upon returning from long days out walking. Prime location for tackling the 3 peaks, plenty of places to vist, ideal central location. Had a fabulous holiday and will be booking again soon.

“Lovely cottage”

We had a really lovely weekend break at the cottage. The cottage was warm and cosy and had everything we could have needed. We loved the Old Peculiar at the pub on the bridge and the warm fire. Would stay again in this cottage and also would visit Horton in Ribblesdale again.

An excellent cottage to be thoroughly recommended. Very well furnished, equiped and comfortable,a true home from home. An excellent library and collection of good DVD's for those rainy days or cosy nights in. Also, the owner has very thoughtfully provided maps and guide books for daily use on your travels. Stunning views across to Pen-y-Ghent from the front and for the rail buffs, the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway to the rear. Local amenities good especially The Crown Hotel which is the better pub of the two in the village. There is also a small shop for those small items needed day to day. Cottage is central for exploring The Dales and The Lakes. Also ideally placed for some "serious" walking especially "The Three Peaks". In short we would definately return to "Pen-y-Ghent view" again.
