“Great location if you are looking for peace and quite”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2012

This lodge is lovely, we returned for the second time this year. The lodge itself is lovely, spacious, clean and well equipped. The garden area also has everything you need for either relaxing or a bbq. My husband is a very keen angler and thought the fishing at the bottom of the garden was excellent. We will certainly be returning and would recommend to friends and family

“Extemelhy pleasurable.”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2011

We felt the lodge had the 'wow' factor. Cleanliness is a priority to us and there was nothing left wanting. We even managed the staircase quite easily. To be fair, the barbecue couldn't be found, but had it been vital I am sure we could have telephoned the owner who we had already found extremely amenable when making key-collection arrangements. We wanted a peaceful, restful holiday and that is what we got. We have shown photographs to family and friends who have shown active interest and now know the website.

“A perfect holiday home”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2011

The house was perfect, everything was just perfect, the rooms were well furnished and the location was just splendid. We will be back.Sykes is the best holiday company we have used in over 40 years of holiday homes and for people on a fixed income not expensive.

“Even the birds come for Breakfast”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2010

Besides the wildfowl onthe river, the ducks liked to sit on the roof. The blackbirds ,sparrows and robin loved to see if you had had breakfast on the verandah. We had a lovely ,sunny week and enjoyed the area.

“Peaceful - but two adults only!!”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2010

The Lodge was beautifully situated, very peaceful and well furnished. We did experience problems with the heating and hot water, which caused concern and some anxiety, but put it down to just a bit of bad luck! The owner was extremely helpful with this problem. Our main concern was the problem of sleeping accommodation - our Christmas break involved my husband, myself and daughter and husband. The double bedroom downstairs was delightful, but upstairs was very problematic. It wasn't so much negotiating the stairs, but the fact that you couldn't stand upright when you got there! In all fairness, I think this, and the fact that there is no bedroom door, only a curtain, should be made clear.

“Isleham visit”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2009

Well situated accommodation which was comfortable and well equipped. The waterside location was a particular bonus, enhanced by the availability of a boat which enabled us to enjoy Spring more widely. Pleased we were able to find such quality accommodation at short notice, well assisted by Sykes staff. A downside was the unavoidable noise of air traffic due to the flat terrain. Overall a very enjoyable break and we will consider returning at some stage.

“a lovely place to stay and fish”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2009

the service we recieved from sykes was good and instuctiions for finding the key were good.i went with my husband and nephew so they could go fishing, the house is described as being near the river which it is but its just a small offshoot from the main river that is outside the house,so my menfolk had to walk to main river to fish.it was a nice house but the sofa's were uncomfortable, also the freezer in the shed didnot work inconvenient when you use deadbait to fish.the village is lovely but quite a long walk but has everything you need.we would consider going again.

“A dream of a cottage in a dream location”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2009

This Swiss style chalet was set amongst others all on the tributaries of the river. The setting started off the holiday perfectly. This was going to be the weeks best holiday for years. The accommodaton had a large lounge with sliding doors overlooking the verandah, garden, mooring and the river.A large downstairs bedroom with a most comfortable double bed and a shower room just off it with underfloor heating,oh how good to have warm feet when just coming out of the shower getting dried.A well fitted kitchen/diner finished off the downstairs accomodation.A further bedroom upstirs, albeit an open spiral staircase, possibly dangerous for very young children but fine for anyone else. This did not spoil it for us as there was only my wife and myself. I would highly recommend this accomodation as long as there were no small children if you enjoy peace and quiet with a wonderful relaxing setting. There are also some good walks from here.Just to round off all of this you also have your own boat!! Yes!! We would most definitely come here again.
