“Homely, very comfortable and clean cottage.”

Reviewed 22 May 2013

The cottage is in a great position, just off the maim road and next to the bus stop. The front overlooks open countryside, you can see the road over the moor that takes you into Beadale.A left turn along the main road will bring you to Grinton a five minute walk.A good pub a nice church, and a riverside walk to Reeth via. the wobbley bridge. Reeth is a ten minute walk from the cottage, there are three good pubs all differant but well worth a visit.Reeth to Muker, park at Muker near the farmers arms pub and do the best walk in the dales,up the valley to Keld, over the river to Thaiwate and back to Muker for a well deserved pint in the farmers. The only two concerns we had, where we could not get a signal for our mobile phones,so we felt cut off.The other thing we arrived mid march,it was bitterly cold, the heating in the cottage couldnot cope. The log burner was great after about two hours,no good when you had been out all day.All in all a good holiday we would hope to return sometime.

“lovely cosy cottage”

Reviewed 26 May 2012

We really had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The owner had even left a bottle of wine for our arrival. The rooms were lovely clean and the bed was so comfortable. Would reccomend this cottage for ccomfort. the views were also stunning from the front bedroom window

“Beautiful cottage in fabulous location, furnished like a home.”

Reviewed 22 Dec 2009

Lovely welcome pack with useful information and treats. This was the first of many things which separated this cottage from many others. It is furnished to a high level and stocked with everything you could think of. Many other places don't even stock tea towels etc so to have a supply of tea, coffee through to soap and washing up liquid was such an unexpected bonus. The most comfortable beds and lovely clean bedding and not a candlewick bedspread in sight. I am loath to recomment it too highly as it will be difficult to get booked in future.

“Home from Home”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2009

The cottage is ideally located for walks and cycle rides, with a cycle hire shop just a few yards away. There is a good pub 5 minutes walk from the cottage with Reeth just 10 minutes from the front door. The cottage itself has been upgraded with a new kitchen and other improvements. The multi fuel stove is lovely after a day out walking (September). The other facilities in the cottage are excellent and the four poster bed very comfortable. Even in September we had one meal out in the garden, though we have not yet tried the barbeque! This is our 14th year visiting the Dales and our fourth at this cottage. What we like least is shutting the front door before driving home!

“reat Holiday with family”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2009

The booking was very straight forward, we only booked 6 weeks before we went. The directions were excellent and we liked the key pad to get the keys so it didn't matter if we arrived late. The cottage looked very small from the outside but was like the Tardis inside. A nice touch was the cake and flowers o the table to greet us. The cottage is close to Reeth for the pubs and shops and 5 minutes the pub in Grinton. We were overcharged by £50 at the the Bridge Inn at Grinton but when we went back to complain we were given our money back after a discussion so check your bill! We had a power cut while we were there and couldn't find any candles so that could be a thought for the owners to keep some handy. The cottage was very well stocked with everything else we needed and we would go back. There are very good walks from there so the car wasn't needed every day.
