Spoilt by unkempt state of cottages next door. Well appointed clean and tidy cottage.

“Just right for a lovely holiday”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2013

We enjoyed our stay at Peace Cottage very much indeed. The cottage was of a very high standard without exception. Tastefully furnished and decorated with a high standard of equipment. Everything was provided down to the smallest detail. The area is perfect for days out with more places than you can fit into a week. Very varied attractions with museums, galleries and castles with attractive towns such as Barnard Castle and of course the city of Durham. All in all, everything for a perfect holiday and we would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to visit again sometime. The lovely quiet location was just ideal. Many thanks to the owners!

We went to the cottage to celebrate our 30th Bithdays with our two children (1&4). Lovely cottage, very well equipped, biscuits, milk and flowers were a lovely touch. Nice quiet location, we had a very relaxing time.

Fantastic and spacious 2 up 2 down with main bathroom and en suite shower room. Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and everything and more could want in the kitchen diner. Contained front garden for dogs and a lovely country walk very close by. Would love to come back

“very peaceful and relaxing stay”

A very good relaxing cottage ideal to get away from it all. A good location for the local area plenty of walks to do,Barnade Castle close for shops if needed especially good for local produce. The cottage was comfortable with all the appliances you will need during your stay. The welcoming needs to be mentioned a very good and appreciated touch.

“Blissful Peace”

Reviewed 6 May 2011

By far one of the most enjoyable places I have stayed and renting a cottage gives you the freedom to come and go as you please. The cottage itself was indeed very homely, immaculately clean and provisions included absolutely everything. A credit to its owner. Ideal for anyone just wanting a peaceful break. It must be said though that a car was necessary although I did spot a bus stop, and there's no nearby pub but apart from that I cannot fault this cottage. If its quiet and quaint you're after this ticks all the boxes!. Bravo.
