“Excellent holiday cottage.”
This was a very homely, lovely cottage for a really relaxing holiday. The owners, Lynn and George and Charlie their dog were most helpful and attentive to our needs. They provided a bottle of wine for our arrival. The cottage was very well appointed with everything we needed. The cottage's location was also great for touring and visiting Buxton, Matlock and Bakewell. Crich Tram Museum was not too far away. Just down the road was a fantastic book shop covering all subjects at reasonable prices.
“Great accomodation in a an excellent location”
Really comfortable and cosy cottage well within reach of places of interest - north and south. Longnor is a lovely friendly village. Great fish and chip shop. Only small complaint - the folding chairs in kitchen.
“Peaceful, relaxing time but close to many beautiful places with”
I was impressed from the start with this holiday cottage. There was a very friendly welcome from the owners and it was clear from the introductory tour that they take care of the property. The location was very peaceful but within short distances of places of interest. I would recommend Buxton for a day out,a beautiful town with a great farmers market. The peace and quiet at night at the cottage was brilliant and you can sit and watch the stars from the conservatory. Our weather also made the holiday more memorable with sunshine for the whole week. I will certainly return to this area and would recommend it as a holiday destination.
“ideal country cottage”
Immaculate pristine cottage in an outstanding area friendly hosts short walk to pub or chip shop also paper shop very convenient
“Comfortable cottage in a friendly village.”
Longnor is a unique little village. Parts of it resemble the set of some Victorian drama. Duncrest cottage is set close to the village centre. It is very well appointed, cosy and comfortable. Attention has been given to detail by the welcoming owners and nothing has been spared to ensure that visitors want for nothing.
“everything we needed”
was there. excellently fitted and equiped, nothing was overlooked, splendid stay, friendly on site owners, plenty of local bus journeys available.
“Very pleasant and welcoming”
Warm welcome on arrival. Very clean and well equipt. Lovely base and easy availability to the Peak District, Bakewell, Buxton and Chatesworth House, also lovely areaa for walking.
We loved the cottage, especially the sun room on the front! It was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location was great, within easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit. The local amenities were very adequate. George and Lynn were brilliant hosts and very friendly and helpfull. We were quite lucky with the weather and organised our days to suit, i.e. on a rainy day we travelled into Derby to do some shopping, coolish days we saved for walking and sunny days for exploring town,s and villages we wanted to see. There was nothing about the holiday to dislike, except for departure day. Was a fantastic break in a fantastic cottage with great views to boot.
“A lovely cottage, lovely owners in a beautiful setting”
The cottage was beautiful. The owners were very helpful and friendly leaving milk, biscuits and even a bottle of wine. We walked in and felt immediately at home. We made really good use of the conservatory on the front each day when we came back from our travels. The location was great for visiting the Peak District area. The local ammenities were all we needed.
