“Experience absolute silence and stupendous views.”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2013

There aren't many places left in the UK where you can experience absolute silence but this is one of them and we revelled in it. You can sit outside on a calm evening, letting your eyes take in the stunning mountain and sea panorama, while your ears delight in hearing nothing but the sounds of nature. The cottage is well appointed, comfortable and warm. You'll need transport as it's in an isolated spot, but for us that added to the charm. Within easy reach are the Lleyn peninsula and all the coastline with the towns of Porthmadog, Harlech, Barmouth, Aberdyfi and aberystwyth. You can also explore the Snowdonia national park and ride on some of the narrow gauge railways including the magnificent Welsh Highland railway. The village of Bryncrug is close by, and just a few miles further away Tywyn has supermarkets, pharmacy etc. What more could you ask? We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it without hesitation.
