“Immaculate cottage - central location”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

New and clean cottage, all mod cons and thoughtfully designed. Probably best cottage we have ever stayed in. Within easy reach of 5 mins drive to one of the 7 Stanes Mountain biking and another one within easy car journey - all levels catered for. Good car ride through the forests. Didn't have to travel far to enjoy the area like St Ninans cave and the Bladnock whisky distillary which was lovely. Did fishing in local lochs. Also cycled to Creetown, did local walk and visited Gems museum which was surprisingly interesting for my 11 year old. Smokehouse close by so good for scallops as holiday treat and chocolate icecream. Found path down to local beach from road near other smokehouse. Great views from the property when the sun sets. Only negative being the noise from the main road when you were sitting out but nothing you can do about that. There is a smaller road in front of the cottage which only has a small amount of passing traffic. Would say this part of the Scotland is undiscovered and well worth going to plus also closer to travel too!
