“Stylish, cosy bolt-hole with beautiful views.”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2014

The cottage is small but perfectly-formed. Refurbished with care and flair, it is warm and comfortable as well as aesthetically pleasing. It was cold and damp outdoors when we stayed, and we were always glad to get 'home'. The bed was huge and the mattress hotel-standard. There was plenty of storage-space in the bedroom. The shower-room was large and well-appointed. The position with the castle lowering above and the estuary stretching out below is impressive and atmospheric. There are interesting walks around the walls, and a great bar in the Castle Hotel on the High Street which does delicious food and where the staff are delightfully friendly and cheerful. A good time was had!
