This is a great cabin with plenty of room and the owners are fantastic. We can't wait to come back next year.

Response from the owner We love having you and your friends again. We are looking forward to you stay next year. Have a great holiday season. Linda and John

“Quiet, lovely, spacious - so much more than just a cabin!!”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2015

The Acorn Cabin was such a pleasant surprise. We weren't sure what to expect as another member of the family made the plans. It was the perfect place to host our family reunion. John and Linda had everything for family fun including horse shoes, badminton and lawn jarts. They are incredibly friendly, caring and helpful! They know the area well and were full of great suggestions for hiking and biking. The cabin itself is huge! More than enough space to move around. The bedrooms are plenty big and the kitchen is perfect for making meals with everything you could need. And if you can't find it? Linda and John will hook you up! The porches both front and back were our favorite. It rained a few days and the porches were the perfect spot to still enjoy being outside. Loved watching the fire flies at dusk while sipping on a glass of wine. Simply awesome! If you want to get away without getting really far away, this is a great spot. Lots to do and explore. We can't wait to go back!! Thanks John and Linda!!!

Response from the owner We really enjoyed having you here. Please come back again and visit with us. Linda & John

“When can I go back?”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2015

I finally found time to write my review of the acron cottage, I got off my flight in Nashvile and drove east for about 1.5hours. When I arrived, I was more than delighted to find such a clean, comfortable environment. I sat down on the front porch and watched wild turkeys and deer running thru the front yard. There was nothing more peaceful, and relaxing.

Response from the owner Please come back when you can get away again. Linda & John

“Tranquil Getaway”

Reviewed 25 May 2015

This is our 2nd stay at Acorn Cottage and it was even better than the first! John and Linda are so gracious and friendly. They go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The setting on the edge of the woods is beautiful. You can really get away from all the distractions of the world with the pond fishing, pitching horse shoes or just sitting on the front or back porch in a rocker and take in the beauty of nature. At bedtime, my husband & I slept the sleep of the innocent with the peace and quiet. What a wonderful week we had at Acorn Cottage. It was truly an enjoyable stay. We will be going back!!

“Perfect get-away cottage in Middle Tennesee”

Reviewed 28 Dec 2014

We rented Acorn Cottage for a few nights over Thanksgiving weekend to be able to have a place to stay close to my family who live in TN (Knoxville & Cookeville) and be able to host Thanksgiving dinner. It exceeded our expectations! It is cozy and comfortable, yet very spacious at the same time with its open floor plan on the main level. We found that the home was very clean and neat. I assumed that I would have to clean the kitchen on arrival before preparing our big dinner to meet my standards, but we found it was perfect. The extra bonus was finding so many condiments and other items already stocked in the pantry. The Keurig was a big hit! The thick, high quality towels were appreciated in each bathroom. Having handicap access for my Grandmother to be able to spend the night with us was fantastic! She was so excited that we could also help her wash a load of clothes during our Thanksgiving "sleep-over." My e-mails and inquiries about the property were met with a quick response during the booking process as well. I will definitely book again!

Response from the owner We enjoyed your stay and meeting you and your family. We hope to see you again in the future. Have a blessed New Year. Linda & John

“Incredible property / owners!”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2014

A few friends and I recently stayed at the Acorn cottage for one night in between whitewater paddling adventures on the Cumberland Plateau. The owners greeted us upon arrival and made our stay most pleasant! The cabin itself is HUGE, having plenty of inside and outside seating to easily fit 10 adults comfortably - having only 4 in our crew, we had plenty of space to spread out! The cabin is well provisioned, including a Keurig with an assortment of coffees and a pantry filled with any basic needs your meals may require. The property sits at the end of a private drive, which made it feel like we were a world away from civilization - which led to an incredible night's sleep! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a large property, off the beaten path, up on the Cumberland Plateau!

“Very Relaxing Experience”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2014

My wife and elderly mother stayed at Acorn Cottage for a week. We could not be any happier with our experience. Waking up every morning with deer and other wild life just steps from our front or back door was truly an amazing and relaxing site. This would also be repeated daily at around 6pm. The cabin was very well equipped with all the amenities of home. Not sure if it was the mountain air or the experience, but we all slept like babies every night. We were all relaxed and truly re charged at the end of our stay. The owners, John and Linda were gracious hosts and extremely thoughtful. They made sure there was nothing you were missing. We highly recommend Acorn Cottage and plan on returning many times in the future. Bob Indialantic, Fl.

“Beautiful, Relaxing & Great Setting”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2014

We loved Acorn Cottage!! Beautiful setting, fabulous lodging & wonderful host. We had a long delay in arriving but it was well worth the wait. The front & back porches stretch the entire length of the house. What a living room! The rock fireplace is gorgeous & there is seating for 11-12 people. The decor is tasteful. The bedrooms are spacious & the kitchen is terrific. Liking to cook, this kitchen is a dream. Very well stocked with anything you need to make a 7 course meal. The natural setting is vibrant with wild life. This is the perfect get away from all the distractions of city life. Although it is slightly off the beaten path, it is well worth the quite and tranquility. The pond was fun for all.
