“Sweet little place”
We loved this sweet little cabin. We like things a little rustic and this sweet place met all of our needs. We could have used a few more dish towels and potholders, but we managed fine without. The woodstove needed some TLC but i think Steve is planning to install a new one so that shouldn't be a matter of concern anymore. We nearly lived in the hot tub and that was just what we needed. Steve had some great advice for hikes and we took several of his recommendations. We would definitely return.
“Quiet, peaceful getaway”
My family (including 2 kids under age 3) got away for a few days and had a wonderful stay. The owners had prepared a nice bonfire in the outdoor firepit and called to confirm we had arrived safely that evening. Cabin was clean, the kitchen was very updated (coffee pot with filters/toaster oven/convection oven) and plenty of pots/pans for those choosing to stay in and cook. Plenty of water pressure. Very rustic furniture and a pleasant wood burning stove to keep off the evening chill. We'd suggest it would be perfect for a romantic weekend, a small family with perhaps with another close couple or grandparents that could use the downstairs single bedroom/full bath. One bedroom had plenty of kid games and toys which were a nice surprise. Evenings under the stars were incredibly relaxing in the 4 person hot tub off the back deck - literally watching shooting stars and having a hard time making out the normal constellations since there were so many stars it was hard to distinguish any patterns you may know from home. The bugs, as you may expect, were somewhat annoying during the cooler evening hours but a nice bonfire kept them easily at bay. It is probably worth noting the cabin is really remote - maybe a mile to the next cabin and 6-8 miles to the next town (i.e., a collection of houses but no stores). On our first day, we heard more flocks of geese flying over than cars on the road. Cell phone reception is not available for at least 3-4 miles up the road but there is a cabin land line and internet available. Check out the nearby graveyards (there is a local guide in the cabin) which date back to late 1700s. There are some nice very low impact, family oriented hikes nearby (just GPS glens run road = a well maintained dirt road winding its way along a stream) about 2 miles down the road and palmers pond a bit further away. We made a day trip to Lake George area for lunch as well which was a nice diversion. The nearest town, North Creek, has a deli, a grocer, bakery, and a few shops all worth a visit. On Thursdays, in the afternoons, a small farmers market sells local fair (Weavertown Market close to Gore Mountain entrance has incredibly good homemade lemon/blueberry scones).
“Beautiful and relaxing cabin”
Stephen is a great person to rent from. He called and made sure we got in okay and was very nice and personable on the phone. The home was beautifully decorated and stocked with everything we could have needed. The location is very cool being set back a little in the woods and surrounded by trees and the mountains. The best part was the wood burning stove and coffee in the hot tub!
My husband and I decided to getaway for our anniversary and I am so happy that we found "Hot Tub Under the Stars". It was clean, secluded, and very well equipped with regular items for our three day stay. Steve and Terri are so kind to keep the cabin with a well equipped kitchen. The weather did not cooperate as well as I would have liked, but we still enjoyed the outdoors and the hot tub :D The pricing is so affordable and truly worth every dollar. We are so grateful that you choose to share with others! Thank you again and we cannot wait to go back!!!
“great wat to get away”
This is a great place to get away from everything and has some great hiking near by.
This was a weekend getaway for my fiance and I and it was just what the doctor ordered. The hot tub and wood stove were our favorite things but the cabin was awesome. A wonderful way to get away from everyday life. Thank you Steve and Terri! We will be coming back again!
“Wonderful Weekend in the Woods”
This was a treat for my husband and I. Cozy cabin, wood stove, hot tub, quiet and R&R.; For skiers (which we are not), this cabin is very close to Gore Mountain. We enjoyed exploring the area and loved having this to come back to. Lots of perks, like Netflix, DVD player, kitchen accessories, firewood stacked right out the front door, clean blankets and, of course, the hot tub. Better than a massage. Owner Steve even checked in via phone to make sure all was well and our questions were answered. I would recommend this to anyone and hope to get up there again myself.
Response from the owner We are so glad you had a nice stay. Please come back again.
