“Great dog-friendly place near town, but in the country!”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2017

A perfect place to take our 50 pound hound for her first trip to Fredericksburg! The hosts on this ranch-like property gave us plenty of privacy and delicious breakfasts! Our dog loved exploring the (mostly) fenced yard and watching the llamas grazing on the other side of the fence. Nice shaded "dog trot" area between the two units was great for breakfast. Place was cozy and clean. Only two things could have made it better - the gate is not like the fencing and would allow dogs to get out and there was no shower in our unit. There is an attached unit that does have a shower, but you rent one or the other. We opted for the larger unit with a big living area and kitchen. Great for early morning walks with your four-legged friend down the long, long driveway into the rural property - but just a short drive to town. We kenneled our dog when we went in town to dinner one night, but took her with us the rest of the time - lots of dog-friendly bars/restaurants/shops in Fredericksburg!

Response from the manager Dear Sheri, Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of your stay at Clear Springs Log Cabin. I'm so glad to read that the two of you and your dog had such a great time. In addition, thank you for mentioning the gate. It is quite aesthetically pleasing and fits with the theme of the home but does have quite a gap at the bottom that could allow pets, especially smaller ones, to slip through. Know that I have passed along your comments to the Fluitts, as they always enjoy receiving feedback from their guests. Have a wonderful day! Regards, Nathan

“We loved the quiet setting and the way the cabin had been restor”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2012

We had a good stay and enjoyed the authenticity of the cabin. The yard and all its flowers was a lovely and peaceful setting. The only concern for me was the multilevels of the bathroom and kitchen. I was recuperating from a long term illness and did have difficulty navigating the cabin.

“Private Perfect Place”

I have stayed here several times and I love it, the details in everything from the decor and the cabin, the beautiful manicured yard, to the delicious homemade breakfast. I can not wait to go back.

“Clear Springs Log Cabin is a unique and peaceful place to stay.”

The service was excellent with a beautifully presented, delicious breakfast served each morning. We loved the unique decorations and the large whirlpool tub. The remote location was very peaceful and quiet--a great place to relax.

“It was great!!!”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2012

Our stay was very enjoyable. The cabin is located outside of town on a ranch. The location lends privacy and a chance to get away from the bustle of town. There is an amazing difference between the outward appearance and the ambiance inside. Upon our arrival, we discovered soothing music and warmly lit rooms. The cabin is very tastefully decorated in keeping with the time period, while providing modern amenities. It was impeccably clean and comfortable. We found the historical information about the cabin, family and area quite interesting. The breakfast was delicious! We highly recommend a visit to Clear Springs Log Cabin!

“Middle of nowhere, near to town”

Reviewed 15 Jun 2012

The cabin is in the middle of a farm so you can feel completely free of daily stress. But it is also an easy drive to some great restaurants and shopping. The best of both worlds adding up to a very relaxing vacation. There may not be enough windows if you want to sit inside and stare at the landscape, but the cabin is comfortable and the giant tub is a big plus (but no shower, so you have to dunk your head to clean your hair). And the breakfast is very tasty and creative.

“Tranquility at its best.”

This cabin is beautiful and our hosts were amazing. We were very impressed with the level of detail that was put ito the restoration of it and the book with the detailed history of the cabin. Our hosts were so thoughtful, they served us breakfast every morning that looked and tasted like something you would expect from room service in a 5 staar hotel. They even included a dog biscut on the tray every morning for our dog. The cabin is located on a ranch far enough out of town that you feel that you have truely "Gotten away from it all", but still close enough so you can go into Fredricksburg for shopping and dining. We spent one morning hiking, it was lovely. We went for our wedding anniversary and it was definately the romantic getaway that we were looking for.

“Relaxing getaway”

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and had everything we needed. It was peaceful and downtown was just minutes away. The only thing we might have changed would be the TV. We rented movies for the night and the TV was older so the picture wasn't wonderful but we made it work. We would definetly go back!
