“LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!!”
We just returned home after 10 days in Sylvia's Frenchman St. condo. We cannot stop talking about it!! Wonderful location, very clean, plenty of towels and fresh linens, stocked kitchen, and beautiful balcony. Wonderful vacation!! Thank you Sylvia for sharing your special home with us! Tom and Beth
“Great neighborhood, wonderful balcony and cozy accomodation”
A wonderful spot to experience authentic New Orleans. Surrounded by music and good food, all very close to the French Quarter but without the throngs of tourists, Frenchmen Street is the place to be. While the apartment certainly served our needs, the outdoor balcony was perhaps the highlight.
“Authentic New Orleans experience”
Stayed here with 3 buddies for 6 nights. The apartment exceeded our wildest expectations. Little did we know that Frenchmen St was the place for the best live music in New Orleans. It was close enough to Bourbon St and all the French Quarter hot spots that we could walk/stumble there in minutes, but far enough away that we could get a great night sleep. Spent many evenings relaxing on the huge balcony overlooking Frenchmen and soaking in the sounds of jazz from the bars down the street. Sylvia had tons of fresh towels for us, and treated us very well. Would recommend this to anyone looking to have an awesome time in New Orleans, but not wanting to stay in an expensive, stuffy hotel. We will be back.
Response from the owner Wonderful! I know, the music is awesome!
“Thanks to Sylvia an amazing experience we will never stop talkin”
We just spent 15 wonderful nights at Sylvia's Suite Jazz. Sylvia, one of the nicest people you will ever meet, was there to greet us when we arrived. We walked up the stairs and were knocked over by the picture perfect Suite we entered. The Suite is super comfy with high ceilings, decorations with a perfect New Orleans feel, a roomy bathroom with a large shower, a large bed, a full kitchen and table charmingly set-up for two, a cozy sitting area with a television (never got around to watching) and music. It is capped off by a perfect balcony on which we spent many hours drinking adult beverages, listening to the music surrounding us and watching the colorful crowds on Frenchmen Street. We were impressed with the photos on the website but they don't come close to capturing the special ambiance of the Suite. I'm already looking forward to a return trip and I have only been home for a few days. Frenchmen Street is definitely a mecca for live music and it's not bad for foodies either. The Suite is literally nestled among three great music venues - - Spotted Cat directly across the street and the d.b.a. and Snug Harbor on either side (hence extended time on balcony). On top of that Three Muses, Blue Nile, Cafe Negril, Maison, and Mojito's are just down the street. Some good food on the street included Rose's Benedict with alligator sausage at Rose Nicaud one door from the Suite, great small plates at Three Muses (good happy hour), soul food at Praline Connection, lamb shanks at Mona's, sausage po'boy and frozen Irish Coffee at 13, and Snug Harbor just to name a few. Other great food experiences were had at Elizabeth's, Bacchanal, Stanley's, Jacques-Imo, Atchafalaya, Parkway Bakery and Tavern, Cochon Butcher, Luke Restaurant, Bayona, Cake Cafe and Bakery, Cafe amelie, Sylvain, late night po'boys at Erin Rose, tacos at Molly's, and burgers at Buffa"s. Music events included Crescent City Blues & BBQ, Harvest the Music, Treme Culture Fest, Jazz in armstrong Park, etc.
Response from the owner Thanks Larry! It was a pleasure having you gentlemen stay with us and we look forward to your return. I have to say you gentlemen were the best! Thanks once again. S
“Music lover's paradise”
We have stayed here a number of times, and every one was absolutely delightful. The proprietor is an absolutely lovely person, and the music on Frenchmen St. is the best in the world.
Response from the owner You should check out the new Frenchmen Street Art Market, just across the street from the balcony. It's wonderful! I love it as it adds another dimension to our neighborhood. More than 20 vendors all with unique gifts in a outdoor setting.
“Authentic New Orleans experience”
What a great place. From the minute we were picked up by Sylvia at the airport to the last hugs as we left, we felt completely at home. The location couldn't be better - especially if you like music. Shopping is easy at the market, just a few blocks away. The tram is also an easy walk from the apartment. The apartment itself had everything we needed. It was bigger and better than we expected (the pictures don't do it justice), and the balcony was wonderful for breakfast, and again after the sun went down. There were four of us - three adults and a two-year old. The apartment easily fit us without feeling at all crowded. Sylvia was the perfect hostess. She felt like an old friend from the minute we met. She's a great source for what's going on in the city. She was always there if we needed her, but not intrusive at all. If you're trying to decide between a couple of places to stay as we were, choose this one. You won't regret it!
Response from the owner Thanks Scott, you have a beautiful family. Enjoy!
This was the perfect place to discover the real french quarter and celebrate our first anniversary along with being Halloween! The apartment is perfect and we loved going to sleep to the sound of jazz and waking up to it too. Such a vibrant street. Everything within walking distance and everyone was happy to help. This review is well over due as we're coming up on a 2 years now and still reminice about our time spent in your gorgeous apartment. Thanks so much Sylvia for letting us stay there. We'll definitely see you next trip down.
Response from the owner Thank you!
“You cannot beat perfection”
We honeymooned in New Orleans recently, and stayed at this beautiful Jazz Suite on Frenchmen Street. The apartment cannot be faulted. It's spacious, clean, and oozes character. The balcony is the icing on the cake, overlooking The Spotted Cat, we spent every evening having a drink or two together, enjoying the atmosphere and live music before going out for dinner - and you are spoilt for restaurant choices in this area! Do yourself a favour and book Jazz Suite...If you consider staying anywhere else, you are mad. The location is ideal, and has such an authentic feel. Although you will spend most of your time out and about, it feels so good to come back to this 'home' every night. Our second trip to New Orleans is already being planned, and this time we are bringing some family over. Since being there, we cannot stop thinking about it, we are in love. We are forever grateful for the hospitality and warmth Sylvia showed us on our Honeymoon to New Orleans. We will be back. If you are ever in australia we are more than happy to return the favour! I am also more than happy to provide further information to anyone from a visitor's point of view, but honestly, this place is a real gem...our New Orleans 'home'.
“An amazing experience in a fantastic location in the heart of th”
A perfect location at a great apartment where attemtion to detail makes it all the more special. Perfect for a music fan in the heart of the New Orleans music scene (even with its own balcony to sit out with drinks & take in the music & atmosphere) whilst being walkable to areas of local interest and the streetcars. Lots of choice for fab food within walking distance. It's all down to the amazing host Sylvia who exceeding all expectations making this an outstanding holiday - can't wait to go back. I'm still trying to think of what i didn't like - but can't!
Response from the owner Great meeting you Carol, hope to see you again on that side of the pond. Best, Sylvia
“Best location in Nola!!!”
An avid traveler, I've stayed in more rentals, hotels, and B & B's than the average person, and this is hands down the best lodging/apartment/rental ever!!! The location is pristine, it was beautifully decorated, spacious and clean with excellent service. I simply cannot say enough good things! This will be the only place I will be staying in Nola, and I'll rearrange my travel dates to ensure this! Thanks! Kerry Wright
Response from the owner Thanks Kerry!
