“It Looks Good Only on Paper”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2015

We had a stay of three nights. The house was your typical suburban home; albeit, it was showing it's wear. Some parts of the house was rotting away. I wouldn't trust the steadfastness of the balcony off the master bedroom. From afar, things don't look amiss. It's when you start to get close and pay attention, you'll notice the place could use an upgrade. The deck, the fencing, the trim, the paint.... it can all use an upgrade. Inside is when things get a bit better. It's well kept. Things are clean. However, there were critical issues with the kitchen. On our first use of the dishwasher, we discovered that it leaked. Just using one cycle caused over two cups of water to escape. We were able to mitigate the mess by using a drinking cup to catch most of the drip. Too bad my socks didn't fare better. We also noticed that this problem wasn't new. You can tell from the warping of the surrounding hardwood that this problem had been ongoing. The other problem was the lack of pans to cook with. There were pots, colanders, cooking utensils of all kinds, but no saute pans. This made it extremely difficult to cook meals since we assumed the house would be furnished with such a necessity. Another huge issue of the home were the quality of the beds. They were extremely uncomfortable. The mattresses were outdated. They were your regular spring mattresses that lacked any kind of layered cushioning or dampener. So when you got in or out of your bed, you would easily disturb your partner; not just from the obvious and magnified movement, but from the loud groaning noise the mattress made. Don't even dream about any funny business in these beds. If anyone was on the second floor, they would be an auditory audience. No one slept well. And to put up with these beds for three nights was extremely irritating. The house harbored three of the beds I have just described. It actually is suppose to sleep 10. The other two beds are futons. One of the two is located in the living room. Sadly, that one has to be the most comfortable in the house. It's ludicrous to even think of sleeping in a living room. You would have to be willing to get the least sleep of your party since you're residing in the hub of the home. As for the other futon, it is located in the master. That room will be sleeping four. I would much rather have the floor though considering all the lumps the pad has. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, this is not the home to be looking at. The beds are terrible, the house isn't romantic in any way. The home is located on a corner, so you'll be hearing traffic noise at night. For the life of us, we couldn't get the fireplace started. I don't think the gas was connected at all. The wifi is terrible. Slow, in and out. Just useless. It was probably due to the fact that they stored the router in a kitchen cabinet. There are a few things I liked about the home. I liked the mobile counter-storage cabinet thing. That added some much needed counter space. The kitchen lacks a nice long counter. The dining table was nice and big. It was too big for the kitchen, and made moving around it hard, but I rather have it big than too small to accommodate. And last was the jacuzzi. It worked perfectly, and was already hot when we arrived.

“Very Nice Home for a Group Getaway!”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2009

My family and I were looking for a home that was comfortable for our group and found just the right one! We enjoyed the hot tub and being able to park in the 2-car garage was very convenient. The Master bedroom was just right with its own balcony and full bathroom. Everything worked out nicely for us and we look forward to renting this property again in the near future. Renting in the snow season was a memorable experience for all!
