“Quaint little cabin with a big back yard”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2013

My whole family loved this place. We loved the large back yard and we loved how it felt like a cabin. Especially with the Elk head. The location is great far enuf from lots of noise and close enuf to everything. We didn't like the carpet in the bathroom. The toilet over flowed and the carpet got soaked. The bathroom needs to have tile or linoleum. Something that makes it easier to clean up nasty toilet water. The carpet thru the whole place needs to be changed. It's old and dirty. I understand its hard to keep it clean with people wearing their shoes in the house all the time. Other than that its a great little place.

“Relaxing”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2012

This is a great cabin for the family! My kids loved the loft! It was great to let the kids run around the property...the creek out back gave hours of fun! The deck was so relaxing - my husband would wake up early just to read and drink his coffee out there. The road was safe for the kids to ride bikes on- not a lot of traffic. The cabin is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but totally within walking and biking distance to stores, bike trails, etc. definately would recommend. Only thing missing was a washer and dryer :)

“Cabin great for small crowd like 5-6 people”

The little cabin was a nice gateway with all the stuff you need. The beds was alittle worn out but the place was in a very quiet neighborhood and the backyeard was spectacular. Wifi and cable on site was a plus.

“Wonderful views”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2010

The cabin was the perfect size and location for our group of 3. It says it sleeps 6, but with one bathroom/toilet, that is not realistic. The location is wonderful as the cabin backs on to a meadow with the mountains right above. Having breakfast on the deck was a great way to start the day. We found a trail and walked down to the creek several days. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Word of warning: there is a deer head mounted over the fireplace and another over the downstairs bedroom. I do not know why people continue to keep such "trophies" and it was the only real downside of the place. We managed to ignore these as much as possible, but it is something that should be disclosed so prospective renters can be aware.

“A peaceful and wonderful time”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2010

My husband and two children, ages 5 and 7, and I, really enjoyed staying in this cabin this past august. We stayed for five nights and ate every evening on the back deck as the view was just so amazing of the forest beyond. The stream behind the cabin was a nice touch and we enjoyed exploring around it in the evenings and my husband enjoyed fishing in it. While we were there the microwave wasn't working and it was replaced the same day. That was great! :) The cabin fulfilled our needs very well; it was very cozy and the kids loved the loft where they slept. Small kitchen but that was all we needed for our stay. Short drive to Lake Tahoe and area attractions. I would definitely recommend staying in this cabin!

We were pleasantly surprised w/ the cabin. The kids loved the loft & the creek out back. We even saw a beaver near the creek bank & kids swinging from a rope to the creek. We enjoyed our stay & would definitely recommend this cabin.

“Uncomfortable/Unsecured”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2010

This place was not in the greatest area of Tahoe. It is more of a house in a community of S. Lake Tahoe that someone rents out versus a Vacation Cabin Rental. There are no chain locks or latches on the inside of the cabin, just the standard deadbolt and hand lock which can be unlocked with a key. This was very unasuring knowing that anyone who stayed there before could access the cabin at any time not to mention anyone from the property rental place. There was also a shady character standing at the desk of the key place when we went to pick up our keys which wasnt a great feeling to start our vacation with. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Tahoe itself was beautiful, but I do not have anything positive to say about the cabin, especially for the price.

“The Great Get Away”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2009

My Husband and I stayed 7 days and wanted to extent our stay but it was already taken. Everything about our vacation was excellent from check in to check out. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The cabin its self was awsome the view from the back yard was breathtaking every morning and evening. The neighborhood was quiet and we had plenty of time to relax.

“the little brown house”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2009

Our little 3 year old loved the place and still remembers the place and refers to it as the little brown house. It had all the amenities we needed. Very close to beach and Casinos. The service was great and painless.

“Nice cabin”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2009

It's a nice cabin for summer. The location is good. The stream in the back is lovely, which is good place for kids. Everything in the cabin works good.
