“Cozy mountain retreat”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2014

My three friends and I had a fabulous time staying in Kai's cabin. We got a lot of snow when we were there and loved hiking in the woods through the snow (behind the cabin and in the Catskill Park--a quick drive away) and coming home to a cozy cabin with an awesome wood-burning stove for which the wood was provided. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook many delicious meals (we got groceries at a Freshstop in Margaretville or our way there). The location was amazing and definitely "away from it all." If you're looking for a retreat in the mountains--this is a fantastic spot to stay. Also, Kai was easy to communicate with and responded to all of my questions promptly. We had a great experience and would love to come back again!

“Relaxing gateway”

Reviewed 9 Dec 2013

My boyfriend and I rented Kai's cabin for my 29th birthday. We wanted to get away from the city and have a relaxing gateway with our 75lb dog. Well... We couldn't have picked a more perfect place. The moment we reserved it we received an email from Kai and he answered any and every annoying question I had. Responded within minutes. He even called the cabin to explain how to use the phone.. Just don't forget to bring a calling card because you only can make local calls.. But he also provides wifi so if you're worried about not being able to stay in touch.. You can always use email or Facebook. We went hiking but mostly just stayed around the cabin taking in the views and then relaxing by the fireplace. It did get a little cold during the night so make sure you stay on top of refilling the fireplace with wood, but it's also provided so you don't have to worry about that. Overall, can't say a bad thing. You'll be going back in the spring :)

“Rustic Private Getaway”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2013

We really enjoyed out stay. Kai was very helpful. The cabin was very comfortable and kid friendly. There is a room for kids with games and books. A telescope which we never used. Plenty of amenities for cooking. We brought Dvd's but there were also some there. We brought a laptop and hooked Pandora up for music. He even had a high chair which came in very handy for our 6 month old son. We also had 2 15 year old girls with us and they really enjoyed being away from it all. We live on Long Island. Overall it was a really nice place to visit, there is also a cute little town about 20 minutes away called Margareteville. It has pretty much everything you need. We would def come back again. I recommend bringing bicycles to ride up and down the long gravel road the house is located on. Thnx Kai!

“Away from it all!”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2013

Tucked away on a little thru road, this house's location is gorgeous. We lucked out with absolutely perfect weather, which let us enjoy the location even more! At night, every star just pops out at you, especially if you go during a new moon. There are hiking trails right there, and if you just need to get away from things, this is the place. As mentioned, it is a touch rustic, but when you're in nature I think that adds to the enjoyment.

“Good Memories”

Reviewed 28 May 2013

Since there is no television we mostly played cards / stayed @ the fire pit roasted marshmallows and made smores & barbequed. We had clean sheets/towels and lots of paper towels / tissue paper which I am glad, because I got hit with allergies in the middle of the night. Overall, we had a very fun time. We also brought our German Shepherd ace with us and he loved it. Will do it again.
