“Hanalei is a great place”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2009

We enjoyed staying in Hanalei but the house was too loud for us. It is Right on the road that travels through town and has a lot of road noise. The house has a lot of bedrooms but is lacking in a nice outdoor area to hang out. The location is convienant but I would not stay there again.

“Great reunion house”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2009

We rented this house for a week and loved it. I was nicer and more comfortable inside than we expected. Plenty of room for our 4 children, one son-in law, a 5 month old grandson and one son's girlfriend. It was a short walk to the beach and to town. Beautiful to look up at the waterfalls and the birds. Really fun to play Cranium and make big family dinners. The only drawback is that the noise from the road is loud when you are trying to sleep. Even so, we would rent again in a minute!

“Great 60th!!”

Reviewed 4 Feb 2009

I spent 2 1/2 weeks at The Simpson House celebrating my 60th birthday. I invited my friends and family and many of them came. I had to get a spread sheet going so I could make sure I knew when people were coming and going. We had a wonderful time. The House is centrally located so we walked to most places. Had coffee with Pierce Brosnan twice at the Java Kai. Everything is laid back here. The only thing I will warn you about are the MOA or Jungle fowl. They are everywhere. Bring ear plugs. We grilled outside and the Kitchen is a dream-- we had a blast. I would recommend this house for anyone that wants to celebrate with friends and family. It is hugh and comfortable For a couple of nights there were 12 people and a baby and we weren't falling over each other. The place is huge -- with a huge kitchen table that we all fit around.

“Family Getaway”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2009

We had a big family getaway here and had a great time. Positives: -A nice, big house with a lot of character. -Very convenient location near downtown and the beach -Nice family seating area -Corner lookout sofa upstairs is great -Very pretty, spacious yard -Great place for kids Negatives: -Road noise from Kuhio Highway is high. Owners should consider a short rock wall along the road or other measures to decrease road noise. -Master suite bed is worn out and creaky and needs replacing. -Needs a better barbeque We would definitely recommend this place to others, especially large groups.

“WOnderful Vacation Home”

Reviewed 22 Dec 2008

I've rented this home twice and both vacations have been wonderful. If you want to stay on the North side, in quiet and peaceful Hanalei, this is a great house. Floorplan makes it easy to share with friends/family. Just a short walk to Hanalei Bay or short drive to many fabulous beaches.

“Lovely Home”

Reviewed 21 Dec 2008

This is a lovely and comfortable home. Nice kitchen with Viking range and large table to feed 10 or so at a sitting. The bedrooms are as advertised and the porch is a lovely place to relax. It's very close to town so we often popped in for a shave ice or some groceries. The only caveats are that the house does not have air conditioning (ceiling fan in each room) so play close attention to the typical weather when planning a visit. HI can be hot and humid at times. Also, the beach is a bit too far to walk with small children. The ocean is fairly close as the crow flies but actual beach access requires a longer walk to a beach park (unless you know one of the property owners fronting the beach and blocking it for some distance). But there is a beach park with parking and we never had a problem driving there.

“Great Location!”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2008

We were looking for a 'Old Hawaii' experience and found it here in Hanalei. The Simpson House is located, with a very easy walk, just north of Hanalei. Also a short walk to Hanalei Bay. We had plenty of room for 5 couples as we were there for two weeks. The Saturday morning farmers market was just across the street and it had some incredible fresh fruits and vegetables. Loved the front porch, great place for afternoon cocktails!

“Great home for extended or large family”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2008

This was a beautiful home . Very large and roomy and also very unique. Was easy to keep clean with its mainly wood floors. It had a very large dinning table that could fit with rooom to spare all nine of us. WE all had privacy but could still be together as a family. It was close to town and beaches. It was every thing I could have wished for. Only thing I might say is that before you go out and stock up on supplies check the house first. WE bought alot of household supplies that we did not need. Again the house and setting was great.
