“The perfect apartment in a wonderful location and a great host.”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2014

My wife and I had a great week-long visit to Florence staying in Casetta Bonsi. The apartment is spacious with two floors. The second floor is a full floor with a large bedroom, bathroom and quaint terrace (this is not a loft). The street is quiet and only a few blocks from the Ponte Vecchio. The apartment was perfectly clean with everything we could have needed. We were able to walk to the main tourist attractions easily and return home to relax and re-energize. The restaurants in the neighborhood are wonderful and the area is not as overrun by tourists as the area across the Arno. Maurizio and his family are gracious hosts who helped us in innumerable ways, including helping us get to the airport on a morning when the city was closed to taxis and other cars due to the running of a marathon! We are hopeful to return to Florence and cannot imagine staying anywhere else.

Response from the manager Thank you very much for your delightful feedback. We sincerely appreciate your business. The Italy Perfect Team

“Great Apartment”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2014

Casetta Bonsi may be the best private apartment we have rented in our travels. The owners provided for every need, comfort and convenience within a classic Tuscan design with modern features. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bedroom was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. We enjoyed the upper terrace for breakfast, afternoon appetizers and wine, and when we dined in. While the apartment's location provides easy access to the Ponte Vecchio, guests should find time to explore and enjoy the Oltrarno neighborhoods. We highly recommend the Lungaro Bistrot for dinner along the Arno River and he Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina for lunch across from the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens. We would return to Florence for a third visit just to stay at the Casetta Bonsi again.

Response from the manager Thank you, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The Italy Perfect Team

“Charming and comfortable getaway that couldn't be in a better location.”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2014

Our stay at the Casetta Bonsi in Firenze was once again, superb. It is a charming, comfortable, getaway that couldn't be in a better location. We have recommended it and to many others and intend to go back as soon as we can. Keep up the good work, Italy Perfect! You are the Best!

Response from the manager Grazie mille! We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. The Italy Perfect Team.

“Lovely House--Prime Location”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2014

We loved staying at Casetta Bonsi. Ideally located to see all of Florence--the central squares as well as the L'Oltrarno. Maurizio was the perfect host with lots of suggestions of where to visit, eat, sightsee. Loved the restaurants recommended by him, particularly Il Bordino. The furniture in the Casetta was particularly nice--wonderful wood armoires and cabinets. The bed was very comfortable (as was the pull-out couch.) Our only minor complaint was that the pillows are too foamy--would be great to get some softer ones. We would definitely recommend Italy Perfect to a friend!

Response from the manager Thank you, we're delighted you enjoyed your time in Florence and your stay at Casetta Bonsi. The Italy Perfect Team.

“Florence Italy magic without the hassel”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2014

When I came across ITALY PERFECT and their Casetta Bonsi rental property on the Internet I was amazed at the photographs and description of the accommodations, not to mention the reasonable price. I immediate secured 8 nights in June 2014 and proceeded to make flight arrangements. Having never been to Europe or out of the US for that matter this was a bold and daring act on my part. Yet, I had a good feeling about my choice and I found the Italy perfect team with whom I communicated to be extremely helpful. In fact, once I made the reservation I was given access to about 50 pages of useful information about visiting Florence and Italy. My plane had barely landed when I received a text from Maurizio, Italy perfect's representative in Florence. He had tracked our flight and had arranged for his wife, Gabriella to meet us at the Casetta, along with his son who had driven in all the way from Milan just to help her with her English! Maurizio who was ill was able to join us later. The 150 or more year-old house was flawlessly clean and well-equipped, and there was even a bottle of chianti waiting for us, plus fresh flowers and a large tray of fresh cherries, apricots, apples and peaches. The casetta is perfectly located, half a block from the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge, yet secluded from the crowds up a magical passageway atop a small hill (some climbing is required) where only local Italians ventured. My nervousness faded within a day and I was making my way around Florence (Firenze) with such confidence of where I was going that Italians from Rome, Milan and elsewhere stopped me to ask directions! I have never felt so at home anywhere, not even when visiting other American cities. I attribute it to feeling so comfortable and safe at the cassetta, which by the way has an excellent security system. Italy perfect's representative here in the US is an American named Lisa, and she is always available; but no need, as Maurizio and his wife were like doting parents, emailing and calling me frequently to ask if everything was to our liking. The casetta itself is living history in brick and stone, on the site of an earlier 500 year old structure. The slate tile floors in every room, modern bath fully equipped kitchen and other amenities would be way beyond my pocket book in a hotel, and I must admit my own home back in Chicago has no such grandeur. Yet it is as cozy and welcoming as an Italian villa. I should not be raving about the place like this; it will be more difficult for me to find a vacancy next time I travel to Florence. But my experience in that city changed my outlook on life and the world at large. I am happy to share it with others.

Response from the manager Thank you so much. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Casetta Bonsi. The Italy Perfect Team.

“Ideally placed - very close to the Ponte Vecchio yet far enough away to enjoy peace & quiet”

Reviewed 13 May 2014

Casetta Bonsi This comfortable and charming accommodation was just as we hoped - we couldn't fault it. Casetta Bonsi is ideally placed - very close to the Ponte Vecchio yet far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. It's on two levels and provides a spacious bedroom, kitchen, terrace and loungeroom . It's maintained to the highest standards. Not too much of a walk up the steepish road behind Casetta Bonsi are the Bardini Gardens which enjoy a beautiful view over Florence. We found the "Friends of the Uffizi" pass worked well. It allowed us to visit the Uffizi as many times as we wished. The pass also gives free access to the Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, Bardini gardens, the Accademia and other galleries. . Since arriving home we have definitely recommended Casetta Bonsi and Italy Perfect to our friends.

Response from the manager Thank you for being our valued guest. The Italy Perfect Team.

“Our Firenze”

Reviewed 3 May 2014

I am very happy that a friend recommended Italy Perfect to find accommodations for our trip to Firenze (Florence). We traveled there to see our daughter who is studying at Kent State University's Florence campus. Lisa from Italy Perfect was awesome to work with as we had lots of questions and she answered them all and helped us find the Casetta Bonsi. When we arrived at the Casetta, the owner Maurizio was there to greet us and give the tour and explain everything about our house to us. He was also very informative about the area. The Casetta was in a great location on the less busy south side of the arno River a couple blocks from the Ponte Vecchio. There were lots of things to do and places to eat on our side of the river and everything we wanted to see was in close walking distance. Our house was very comfortable and much nicer and roomier than a hotel would have been. We highly recommend Italy Perfect and the Casetta Bonsi.

Response from the manager Thank you, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. The Italy Perfect Team.

“Terrific Stay!!”

“Florence Charmer”

Reviewed 6 Dec 2013

The house in Florence was an ideal first stop location in Italy. I suffer greatly from jet lag and the ability to get up and go downstairs in the middle of the night in a comfortable home setting is ideal. The house is comfortable, near all sites and spacious for Italy. Its only 3 blocks from the ponte vecchio so not as noisy as central Florence but buses and garbage trucks do start early in all cities. The coffee bar recommended by the owner was really good for both breakfast and apperitivo. Its a close walk over to the Pitti Palace and Bobili Gardens. Fall is colder than I would have expected (I'm from the desert) so an extra couple of blankets would have been ideal for me since there is no heat available until Nov 1st [per Italian law - IP]. Owner met us and showed us all around & how things worked. The small wall safe was really a nice extra. We would definitely stay here again.

Response from the manager Thank you, so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We also really enjoy that coffee bar which is nearby. The Italy Perfect Team.

“"Hidden Gem" in Florence Oct 2013”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2013

Casetta Bonsi was truly a "hidden gem" of a house in the middle of a tiny cobblestone street among Florence apartments. The house was 5 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Ufizzi, and easy access to Florence's main tourist attractions. Actually we walked almost everywhere, even to Santa Maria Novella church near the train station. The owner, Maurizio was a sweet man. He helped us with our taxi arrangements, recommended restaurants and went out of his way to find some information for us. Casetta Bonsi was roomy and comfortable and felt like home, a nice place to come home to every night. We loved Florence, the end to a perfect 3 week vacation in Italy. Recommended restaurants in the area: Casalinga, and the ones on the sheet Maurizio gives you. If you plan to visit at least 8 or so museums and churches, buy the Firenze pass, (at Door #2 of the Uffizi). You will skip the lines and it is well worth it!! Lisa at Italy Perfect was excellent, booking was easy and she provided a lot of valuable information for the Florence area. We would highly recommend Casetta Bonsi and booking through Italy Perfect. We hope to return soon!!!

Response from the manager Thank you for your nice feedback! The Italy Perfect Team.
