“A Family Sized Vacation”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2016

What a perfect fit for our plans to celebrate a 70th Birthday. This home has a great location, lots of amenities and plenty of room to gather a large group with it's "open" floor plan (living/dining/kitchen). Lots of seating options inside and out whether you are enjoying a sunrise with a cup of coffee or steaks fresh off the large bar-b-que. Location perfect for walking: to shipwreck beach, the Hyatt for brunch, Poipu beach park or Brennecke's for cocktails and dinner. Lots of nice quality towels provided both for the bath and the beach, great water pressure, and, since no one was in the homes near us, tons of privacy. Also had quite a selection of beach toys and fins. Seventeen steps between the front door and the living area would make this home challenging to the "un-fit". While the indoor stairs are carpeted, we had to block the top of the stairs in the living area and out on the lanai to keep the young children from playing and falling down the stairs. Encountered two bummers: refrigerator/freezer not up to snuff. We lost some chicken, a tray of steaks and a carton of milk as it was not cold enough despite following instructions in the manual to improve performance. We kept our beer and champagne in a cooler with ice as the fridge didn't chill it to our preferred temperature. The large sectional sofa has a few broken down pillows that made some seats uncomfortable and not an option for sleeping. To our group, the loss of our food and the inconvenience of the underperforming refrigerator was a deal breaker as far as returning to this particular home.

Response from the manager Thank you for choosing Suite Paradise for your 70th birthday , we want to wish you all the best and happiness.we apology for the inconvenient, we thank you for pointing out these 2 issues you experienced while your stay , our maintenance crew will make sure to resolve it. Mahalo!

“Spacious, indoor, outdoor space. Basic furnishings and kitchen amenities.”

The downstairs bedroom I was in had no closet, not even a hook to hang clothes on. Kitchen would benefit by supplying plastic wrap, foil, baggies. A few spices beyond salt and pepper would be nice.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback, as you noticed all our condos offer full kitchen equipment ,please let us know for your future stay what you need and we will provide it, as you know the state of Hawaii ban plastic bags and other items... We hope to see you again Mahalo

Response from the manager Aloha Belinda S, Thank you for your review. We are very glad that you felt like Lana Villas 43 was your home away from home, and are very hopeful that we will see you back here very soon. Mahalo!

“10 days in. Paradise”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2016

We recently spent 10 days at this awesome 4 bedroom house located deep in the Poipu Kai resort properties. It well exceeded our needs and expectations. Our party consisted of the parents, 2 adult sons with there spouses and 2 very active grand sons in the 2-4 "ish" age. The house fit our needs perfectly with lots of space for us to move around, visit, and just relax. The large lanai with its 2 tables and 8 chairs was the gathering point for all of our home cooked meals both morning and night. The large kitchen had everything needed to make gourmet meals. I had originally thought that not being close to the ocean was going to be a let down. But that concern quickly melted away. The house is located next to a beautiful landscaped (and well lighted) walkway that leads to 3 beautiful beaches with only a 12 minute walk to the east and west of the house. The bonus of the west walk is Kalipakie Joes Sport Bar and eatery along the way (with a great happy hour). To sum it all up... This is a great vacation property for families and kids. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Response from the manager Aloha! We are delighted that your stay with us went so well, and that you were able to take advantage of the many convenience factors that our properties offer. Please consider us again the next time that you and your ohana take a vacation together. Mahalo!

“Surprise, no air conditioning”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2015

We rented this home for my brothers and their family. We were so shocked to find it had no air conditioning. It was very hot. We had already paid for the place so they were gracious and went to Walmart and bought extra fans. If you don't mind no air conditioning, it is a great place.

Response from the manager Aloha 895jannaw, We, at Suite Paradise, are glad to learn that our staff was able to provide you with extra fans during our unusually hot month of August. Because of our typically cool trade winds which provide a natural air conditioning for our homes and condos, most residents on Kauai do not have AC. However, Suite Paradise does have a limited inventory of air conditioned beach resorts for your choosing. These cost a little more but may be a more desirable choice for you especially if you plan to visit during late summer. Please contact our reservation department as you plan your next trip, and our staff will be happy to assist you in the selection of a more suitable beach resort to make your next stay in paradise perfect. Sincerely, Liz Parisi manager@suite-paradise.com

“paradise found”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2014

For a family, the place is great. Plenty of space. Well-designed to take advantage of the great landscaping. One small quibble: the drains do not drain very well. The houses are close, so evening parties would be a problem , but we enjoyed and respected the quiet. All considered-a terrific value.

Response from the manager Aloha George G., We have an amazing staff at Suite Paradise which is available every day throughout your vacation stay. Our competent maintenance staff can easily help with your slow flowing drains. You only need to give them a call. As for the evening parties, we do have an established quiet time that begins at 8:00 p.m. each night and which is gently enforced by our Resort Security. This allows all of our guests at our Suite Paradise resorts to experience a tranquil stay in paradise. Sincerely, Liz Parisi manager@suite-paradise.com

“Great location with a nice Condo”

Reviewed 7 May 2014

The condo was fine, the Tv's are small and there were some cockroaches in the unit. The location is great and this condo is perfect for 8 people. It is walking distance from the beach and the local restaurants are great. I would rent this condo again.

Response from the manager Aloha Richard, Suite Paradise manages a variety of condos at Poipu Beach. The owner of each condo is responsible for deciding how to outfit the property. This includes choices of TVs and stereo equipment. A pest eradication program is a regular component of the maintenance of each property. However, on occasion, some of our tropical critters do find their way indoors especially if any food is left out. It's the tropics! Our housekeeping department is available throughout your stay to address this problem and any other issues that might arise. We are happy to hear that you so enjoyed your beach resort that you would rent it again in the future. Just give Suite Paradise a call and we would be happy to assist you with this reservation. Sincerely, Liz Parisi manager@suite-paradise.com

“Mixed experience”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2014

The house was nice and comfortably slept 7 of us. The kitchen and living room area were very spacious. It was a peaceful place to stay however we weren't expecting it to be so close to other residents. In the picture it just shows the house but doesn't show it's proximity to other houses. Also they don't mention quiet hours until the day you check in. My friends and I were on a vacation and of course we want to enjoy ourselves and laugh at a funny DVD. Next thing we know we have complaints of noise...from laughing at a DVD...not even partying. That was one of the biggest downfalls of getting this house. The next night we stayed out and spent our money elsewhere so we wouldn't have more complaints. We couldn't really enjoy the night time in the house. The floors were also dusty and one toilet was really loud and irritating. If you are planning a trip and have a large group and plan to not socialize at night in your house past 8pm then I wouldn't recommend this area. It was a nice house but I would not stay here again.

Response from the manager Aloha Anonymous USA, Our little island of Kauai has grown over the last few decades. Yet, with our growing population, we still manage to maintain the rural feel of our island. It's interesting, but even on our country roads where homes are located a distance apart from each other, you can still hear neighbors' conversations from a few blocks away. Some of us can even hear cows mooing from across a canyon! As a result, in this environment, many guests come to Kauai to just enjoy the serenity of this island paradise. It was very thoughtful of you to take your partying to a more suitable venue as most of our locals do. It sounds like you had a very comfortable and spacious home for your visit to paradise. As for any housekeeping needs, please don't hesitate to call our responsive front desk during your stay and they will gladly provide assistance. Sincerely, Liz Parisi manager@suite-paradise.com

“Dirty”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

I was extremely disappointed with this. There was dust everywhere. Dust bunnies stuck to the closet doors, window sills covered in dust, walls dirty, Bar-b-que filthy and needs repair, Kitchen faucet is stuck in one position and cannot turn, fridge takes about 2 days to cool your food down as if they turn it off until someone is coming in...the list goes on and on. Then to top it off, Suite Paradise charges for garbage bags, soap, and local calls!!! It is completely not worth the money. For $3200 I would have done better staying in a hotel room. I used Suite Paradise about 6 or 7 years ago and they were great. No longer. Run, look elsewhere.

Response from the manager As standard procedure, we called this guest the morning after arrival. We asked if everything met their expectations and if there is anything we could do for them. They party said that everything was OK there and all they needed was additional shampoo and toiletries. We then sent housekeeping over to supplement these items and told them to let us know if there is additional items needed during their stay. They never once called for any maintenance or housekeeping concerns. We want our guest to have a great vacation. We guests to help us. We asked the following guest if we could come in and take a look at the frig and the kitchen faucet and they reported both were working fine? We did notice that the BBQ needed a big time cleaning.
