“Loved our family vacation!”
The Crater was a great place to stay. It was very clean with everything we needed. Our family had the best time. Thank you so much!!
Response from the manager Aloha, thank you for your great review of Suite Paradise and of Poipu Crater Resort. We loved having you as a guest and look forward to seeing you again. Mahalo, Suite Paradise
The condo was just fine, it had everything that we needed to stay for a week. I understand that bugs are an issue in a wooded area, but this was a little rediculous. When I say bugs I mean cock roaches, little ones and very big ones. It was very hot in the condo. No air conditioning. All of our fans were not working but the people in charge were very nice and helpful and brought us new ones. I love this area of Kauai, but I would not stay at Poipu Crater again.
Response from the manager Aloha Nichole, Thank you so much for your feedback, the association did a monthly pest control for the resort and . We do offer 15+ condos equipped with Central and Portable A/C . We hope to see you again in our O"hana Mahalo
We have been to the Island 3 times but never stayed at the crater. I was very pleased not only with the helpful staff but the Owners of our Condo have gone above and beyond to insure a comfortable stay. I will stay there again and would recommend. David
Response from the manager Thank you David for choosing Suite Paradise, we appreciate your recommendations.Until we meet again our warmest Aloha and Mahalo
“A beautiful location and a wonderfull time”
The staff at the office where so helpful and patient had answers to all our questions. The villa was perfect for us,clean, bright and comfortable with a great size deck to eat and relax on.Its surrounded by trees, beautiful flowers and birds.Had no trouble falling a sleep,so quite but the birds let you know when the sun is coming up. There where boggy boards, fold up chairs etc, available to use. Ice maker was used a lot.The Kitchen had every thing we needed. The pool was good, had a few hundred yards stroll to the beach and resturants a perfect spot for relaxing healthy holiday
“Comfy Kauai condo”
Check in went well with a helpful and pleasant greeter Poipu Crater is a peaceful, secluded area with a 10 minute walk to the beach. There are many other condos closer to the ocean and with better views and more scenic settings. But we enjoyed our unit with a kitchen to eat in, nice furnishings and beds, lots of ceiling fans but no a/C. The fresh breezes were comfortable. There is a nice pool, Weber grilles, beautiful lawns and flowers. Each unit has a lanai. They provide beach mats, umbrella, plenty of beach towels, boogie boards, air rafts & beach chairs. The washer & dryer were useful. Large families and loud parties would not do well at Poipu Crater, your neighbors are too close. They post "Quiet Hours" after 10 PM, and our stay was fairly quiet, but noise from other units could be a problem. You definately need a car here to see all of Kauai's treasures, Waimea Canyon, pretty beaches, waterfalls, cute small towns and cloud topped mountains.
Response from the manager Aloha Neil and Marsha Dayton, You are correct in saying that there are a variety of condos to choose from at the Poipu Kai Resorts managed by Suite Paradise. Loud parties do not do particularly well any place on our rural island because noise in a quiet place can travel for quite a few blocks. Most people visit Kauai for its serenity and beauty. And it sounds like you did just that! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the peaceful and secluded area of Poipu Crater. It sounds like you made the most of your Hawaiian vacation as you enjoyed your cozy beach condo and all of Kauai's treasurers. We look forward to you visiting our beautiful island in the near future. This is the third time we have stayed in Poipu Crater and have always been happy with our stay. We have a light sleeper, and this is a quiet location. This unit had a brand new kitchen which was great. The other permanent and temporary residents of the Crater were very friendly and always had a smile for us. This is great value for the money.
“Hot in the crater. Not much privacy.”
We really did not have as much air flow as we would have liked in the little crater hole. The master bedroom upstairs has a 4x4 hole that goes down into the foyer so you hear everything that is going on downstairs...and the opposite. No aC in this unit. The downstairs bedroom is like an oven if you close the door. Furnishings are nice, but kitchen is way outdated and the dishwasher needs replacing as the detergent dispenser is broken and racks are rusting. We did enjoy our stay here, but I wouldn't say it is better than average
Very much enjoyed the stay! close to stores, restaurants and attractions. Or just stay in Poipu and relax at the beach or condo. All the enmities are provided to make this a stress free occasion!
I and two girlfriends stayed here for a recent girl's trip to Kauai, and we couldn't have been more pleased! We were surrounded by lush flowers, sweet singing birds and no street/people noise. The complex is convenient to everything in Poipu and I walked to the beach every day. I have to say too that I loved the pool, and the adjoining pool house with sauna for the occasional rainy day. The condo itself had everything we needed and the washer/dryer a bonus after our muddy hike! We all commented on how super comfy the beds are. All of us agreed we would definitely stay here again.
The unit was nice. Everything was pretty clean except for the used soap bar in the bathroom. The reason I only rated this two stars is because of the pretentious Poipu Crater property. We checked in on a Friday and went down to the common area to check out the pool/hot tub only to find out that there was no hot tub even though reservationist said that every property had one. Apparently the common area next to the pool is reserved every Friday from 5pm-8pm by a group of condo owners. Judging by the list on the bulletin board, over half of Poipu Crater is privately owned and these owners think they own the common area too! They were absolutely conceited and appeared to be bothered that we were swimming in the pool during their "reserved" time (the only reason I know they reserved it is because there was a sign posted on the bulletin board stating "This area is reserved from 5pm-8pm every Friday except for the grills - Jim #12"). That night, we had a little get together on the balcony of our unit and at exactly 10:05pm one of the condo owners from the "reserved" group earlier marched down and said "haven't you read the rules" and presented us with a laminated copy of the property rules which said that quiet hours were from 10pm-9am. We were not presented with a list of rules during checkin, nor could we find it anywhere in the unit. Stay at the Kahala (also through Suite Paradise) instead! It's a bigger property with better amenities.
